“They’re Dragging People Away”: Hamas Begins Mass Executions as Israeli Military Withdraws From Gaza

As Israeli troops withdraw from most of Gaza’s populated areas, the residents of the enclave are again getting a taste of what a ‘Palestinian state’ might look like under their current leadership.

With the U.S.-brokered ceasefire providing a breather, Hamas terrorists have crawled out of their tunnels and fanned out into the streets of Gaza —  massacring political rivals and opposing Arab clans to reestablish their reign of terror. It is worth noting that the massive Hamas tunnel network was exclusively for terrorist warfare, and not to shield a single Gaza civilian during the two-year-long war.

Hours after the Israeli pullout, Hamas publicly executed dozens of Gazans. “A greatly weakened Hamas has sought to reassert itself in Gaza since a ceasefire took hold, killing at least 33 people,” Reuters reported Monday.

Some of the atrocities are being committed by Hamas’s “Shadow Unit,” which had previously been charged with holding and tormenting Israeli hostages for two long years.

“Reuters footage showed dozens of Hamas fighters lined up at a hospital in southern Gaza, one wearing a shoulder patch identifying him as a member of the elite ‘Shadow Unit’ that Hamas sources say was tasked with guarding hostages,” the news agency reported. “One of the Gaza sources, a security official, said that since the ceasefire, Hamas forces had killed 32 members of “a gang affiliated with a family in Gaza City”, while six of its personnel had also been killed.”

One of the cellphone videos posted on X shows seven blindfolded men on their knees. Some of them had been undressed and had their hands tied behind their backs. The crowd, comprising men and even young boys, goes into a frenzy with the chants of “Allah Akbar” as the victims fall amid a hail of Hamas gunfire. The murdered men are accused of collaborating with Israel or belonging to rival Arab clans.

Israel’s Ynetnews reported Monday:

Hours after the release of the Israeli hostages, Hamas terrorists executed several people in Gaza on Monday evening, accusing them of collaborating with Israel or being linked to ongoing internal fighting between the terror group, local clans and militias, according to Palestinian sources and videos circulating on social media. The executions were carried out publicly before cheering crowds, some of whom filmed the events. Among those killed was Ahmad Zidan al-Tarabin, reportedly responsible for recruiting agents for the Abu Shabab militia.Palestinian sources said the killings targeted individuals suspected of “treason” or of maintaining ties with foreign entities. (…)On Sunday, reports from Gaza said 52 members of the powerful Dagmoush clan were killed in violent clashes with Hamas’ internal security forces. Twelve Hamas terrorists were also killed, including the son of senior Hamas official Bassem Naim. Hamas gunmen reportedly used ambulances to storm the neighborhood where the heavily armed clan lives — a family that, according to some reports, has cooperated with Israel.“It’s a massacre,” one clan member’s daughter said. “They’re dragging people away, children are screaming and dying, they’re burning our houses. What did we do wrong?”The Dagmoush clan, one of Gaza’s strongest, has previously clashed with Hamas. Residents warned that the current escalation could destabilize Gaza’s fragile internal balance and trigger revenge attacks between rival families.

The staging of Sharia-compliant public executions and the mass murder of Palestinian opponents is not new for Hamas. When the terrorist group took control of Gaza in 2007, it began by throwing members of the rival Palestinian groups from high-rise buildings. During its 18 years of reign, the Islamic terror group has tortured and murdered to cement its hold over the enclave.

The gruesome images highlight the threat Hamas poses to Gaza’s own population, not just neighboring Israel. Under President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan, Hamas is to be completely demilitarized and will play no role in the future administration of Gaza. The terrorist group has so far shown no sign of handing over weaponry or control over the enclave. Given the post-war bloodbath unleashed by Hamas, it is hard to imagine it voluntarily surrendering weapons.
