Randi Weingarten Implies U.S. is Under ‘Nazi’ Occupation
“I mean, there is a reason why Putin said that wars are won by teachers.”
Randi Weingarten, the head of the largest teacher union in the country, recently implied on MSNBC that the United States is currently under Nazi occupation. So much for lowering the temperature, right?
This nonsense is even more offensive coming from Weingarten, considering she supposedly represents educators.

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) boss Randi Weingarten hinted the U.S. was under “Nazi occupation” by wearing a paper clip during her interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Monday.
Weingarten promoted her new book, “Why Fascists Fear Teachers,” which she described as a warning against fascism that she argued was already occurring in the U.S.
“Who are the heroes? Who are the antidote? Who are the hope agents and their teachers? I mean, there is a reason why Putin said that wars are won by teachers. There is a reason why in Norway, when the Nazis took over Norway, that’s why I’m wearing this paper clip,” Weingarten said, pointing to her paper clips.
She continued, “I wear two things now: the American flag — no one can take patriotism away from me — and a paper clip. What did the teachers in Norway do when there was the Nazi occupation? They started wearing paper clips. Kids started wearing paper clips. Why? To bind people together as a community.”
Though she alluded to Nazi occupation, Weingarten insisted she did not label any specific figure a “fascist” in her book.

I thought we all agreed that our political rhetoric was getting too unhinged, too overheated, too emotional, too exaggerated, and that it might be making desperate people do bad things. And now you’re telling me that the nation’s top teacher wrote a book implicitly referring to her opponents as fascists? Maybe the sequel should be called, “Why Everyone Who Disagrees with Me is Hitler.”
Perhaps Weingarten is just trying to distract from the fact that many, many Americans are profoundly dissatisfied with the state of public education in this country. And it’s not because teachers have too little power, but because the union that represents them is doing us all harm. Indeed, there is no single figure more responsible for keeping schools closed during COVID for so long than Randi Weingarten: The teachers unions were the main driver, the main political force, engaged in the work of pressuring relevant authorities and lawmakers to keep school closed until we had reached zero COVID cases. They’d still be closed if those people had their way.

By the way while Weingarten is talking about accessories, I’d like to suggest to her that she strongly considering wearing not 1, not 2, but 3 paper bags over her head. She’s so ugly (physically and personality wise) she not only makes little kids cry but would knock a buzzard off a shiest wagon at 25 feet.
Paper clips, since freshman year at college, have been useful for picking locks. There’s always somebody who knows how to do it and then everybody knows how to do it. No lock is actually a lock any longer.

I have such a hard time keeping up with who is Of The Democrat Body on any given day and who is not.
I had never heard of Norwegian teachers wearing paperclips as a silent protest against the Nazi occupation.
I am quite familiar with Operation Paperclip, which brought German aerospace engineers and scientists, such as Werner Von Braun, to the US after World War II ended. I will make the assumption that Randi Weingarten, by wearing a paperclip, is in support of the Operation Paperclip. A less realpolitik USG would have jailed some of those scientists and engineers that came to the US with Operation Paperclip.

Weingarten is not out of alignment with her membership. She affirmatively represents them. She is their face. When you hear this odious donkey braying, she represents your kid’s third grade teacher.
For the overwhelming majority of human history, homeschooling was how people learned. It is public education that is the experiment.
Public schools are a failure and cannot be fixed. The sooner we dissolve them in lieu of a competitive model the better.
One fix would be allowing the taxpayers of school districts where the students ‘graduate’ but can’t perform to grade level or are otherwise non performing schools to sue the faculty and their unions for fraud.
I went to public school, I got a reasonably good education, Of course that was in the 60s and early 70s. Something happened to change all of that,
I was in public school during the same time period, graduating from HS in 1974. What I noticed even while in school is that I only had one teacher whose politics were made clear in class – and he was a social studies teacher – Mr. Martin. This is to say that teachers who made their politics clear to students were extremely rare. And when I say they didn’t make their politics clear, I mean they just didn’t let on at all about their politics. I’m fairly certain this latter sort of teacher is the rare bird these days. And of course, in these days, if you do make your politics known, you’d better be in line with The Narrative or you might find yourself looking for work. So that means the kids get an earful of socialism every day, in nearly every class, for years.
Excellent point. I graduated from HS in 1973. I didn’t know anyone of my teacher’s politics. Furthermore, I didn’t know their sexual preferences. I didn’t even know their marital status with the exception of an occasional female teacher who changed her name after marriage or got pregnant. There certainly weren’t any tattooed pierced crazy colored hair queer, transgendered, or gender fluid nutjobs like you can find on 1000s of TikTok videos these days.
Teachers were dressed conservatively as well. My principal and superintendent weren’t education doctors. Times have changed and not in a good way. It appears what happened is that progressives captured colleges complexly and indoctrinated several generations of teachers. At the same time standards were relaxed or eliminated resulting in the chaos and poor teaching you find these days.
In my four years of high school, the closest I came to knowing anything about any of my teachers’ politics was my sophomore history teacher’s. At the beginning of the year, he gave the whole class a year long assignment: subscribe to one of the national weekly news magazines (Time and Newsweek were the two front runners), read them, and be prepared to discuss news that you read in them. “But not U.S. News & World Report,” he stipulated as an afterthought — “they’re too Republican.”
That guy is ugly inside and out.
Would it be too much to ask for people to stop referring to Weingarten as a teacher? An educator? I doubt Weingarten has even bothered to set foot in a classroom at all since she became head of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). Not sure exactly what to call her but to call her a teacher or educator isn’t it.

If you want to know why the Public School System is so utterly dysfunctional, just look at this liar. If States would take a page from the Florida book we could be rid teachers unions within 2-4 years. Here in Florida we gave every teacher the ability to actually “opt in” to have their dues deducted from their paychecks. Along with a guide as to how much those dues are. So instead of the byzantine way of opting out, they now have to opt in. Dues from paychecks are down significantly. In Dade county the local union is in danger of bankruptcy. Take away the money and you starve the beast.
Weingarten is living proof that the left is mentally ill. Imagine an educator that doesn’t know the meaning Fascist.
