Federal authorities are investigating the discovery of a suspicious elevated hunting stand positioned with a direct line of sight to where President Donald Trump exits Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport. A revelation raising new questions about ongoing threats to the president’s safety.
According to Fox News, the U.S. Secret Service uncovered the stand on Thursday while conducting routine sweeps ahead of Trump’s weekend return to Florida.
“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.”
Officials have not yet linked the structure to any individual, but the timing and placement have drawn serious concern.
“There was no impact to any movements, and no individuals were present or involved at the location,” said Secret Service communications chief Anthony Guglielmi, emphasizing that the discovery occurred during “advance security preparations” before Trump’s arrival. “While we are not able to provide details about the specific items or their intent, this incident underscores the importance of our layered security measures.”
A law enforcement source told Fox News that the stand appeared to have been in place “months ago.” The FBI has assumed full control of the investigation and is working with local Palm Beach authorities to determine its origin and purpose.
NBC News, which confirmed the discovery and FBI probe, reported that “the U.S. Secret Service is working closely with the FBI and our law enforcement partners in Palm Beach County,” adding that the find was made through “technology and comprehensive physical sweeps” near the airport.
The incident comes on the heels of multiple recent assassination attempts against Trump, including the July 2024 shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, and the Florida golf course sniper plot by Ryan Routh, who was convicted last month.
That history makes this new discovery especially alarming. A hunting stand with an unobstructed view of the Air Force One landing zone is no trivial coincidence. It signals a potentially escalating threat environment surrounding the president.
Given the pattern of attempted attacks, this is more than an oddity. It is an urgent matter demanding immediate and exhaustive investigation.
