Spain’s Sanchez ‘Regrets’ Not Having ‘Nuclear Bombs’ to Stop Israel’s War on Hamas

Spain’s Sanchez ‘Regrets’ Not Having ‘Nuclear Bombs’ to Stop Israel’s War on Hamas

Prime Minister Netanyahu: “That’s a blatant genocidal threat to the world’s only Jewish State.”

Israel has sharply criticised Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez after he expressed “regret” that his country did not have “nuclear bombs” to stop Israel’s ongoing military operation against Hamas, which began following the October 7 massacre.

“Spain, as you know, doesn’t have nuclear bombs, aircraft carriers, or large oil reserves,” Sánchez said in a televised speech on Monday. “We alone can’t stop the Israeli offensive. But that doesn’t mean we won’t stop trying,” he lamented.

In his speech, the Spanish prime minister went on to announce a series of measures against Israel, including a ban on ships and aircraft carrying fuel or weapons to Israel.

Spain’s move was welcomed by the Gaza-based terrorist group Hamas, which praised the prime minister’s “notable contribution to international efforts” against Israel.

Spain’s El Pais newspaper reported his proposed anti-Israel measures:

Sánchez has announced even more forceful measures, including a decree — which will be approved by the Spanish Cabinet on Tuesday and must be ratified by Congress — that legally enforces what was already happening in practice. According to Sánchez, this entails a total embargo on the purchase and sale of arms to Israel, as well as eight additional measures designed to prevent ships or aircraft that might carry fuel or support to the Israeli military from docking or landing in Spain.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on X, slammed the Spanish leaders’ desire to acquire nukes to destroy Israel, calling it “a blatant genocidal threat on the world’s only Jewish State.”

The Jerusalem Post reported Netanyahu’s response:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused his Spanish counterpart of making a “blatant genocidal threat” after the latter lamented Spain’s lack of “nuclear weapons” to defend against Israel during his announcement of sanctions against the Jewish State.

Responding to this on Thursday, Netanyahu tweeted: “Spanish PM Sanchez said yesterday that Spain can’t stop Israel’s battle against Hamas terrorists because ‘Spain does not have nuclear weapons.’ That’s a blatant genocidal threat to the world’s only Jewish State.”

“Apparently, the Spanish Inquisition, the expulsion of the Jews of Spain and the systematic mass murder of Jews in the Holocaust, is not enough for Sanchez,” he added.

The Spanish prime minister’s outrageous remarks were widely reported in the country’s media and criticized by opposition leaders.

France’s Euronews TV channel reported:

[Some] Spanish media reported on Monday that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez had expressed “regret” that his country did not have “nuclear bombs” to stop Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.

An article by newspaper La Gaceta was headlined: “Pedro Sánchez regrets not having nuclear weapons to ‘stop’ the Israeli response to Hamas.”

“Sánchez regrets not having nuclear arms to prevent the ‘genocide’ in Gaza,” media outlet OK diario wrote. (…)

Sánchez’s political opponents were swift to accuse him of siding with Hamas, a designated terrorist organisation whose October 7 attacks on Israel initially triggered the war in Gaza.

The leader of the far-right party Vox, Santiago Abascal, claimed that “Sánchez would like to have nuclear weapons … but not to defend Spain. To defend Hamas.”

A spokesperson for the centre-right Popular Party (PP) also questioned what Sánchez had meant with his reference to nuclear arms: “A nuclear bomb on Tel Aviv? Is that what he intends to do?” Carlos Díaz-Pache, the party’s spokesperson in the Assembly of Madrid, asked.

Right-wing commentators have also been quick to judge the premier’s comments.

Rest of the sane world: we don’t regret it at all now piss off!!!

No words…

Little wonder Spain has so badly struggled for so many years.

Where is his kaffiyeh and Sinwar t-shirt?

At a minimum the US should pull our ambassador and put travel restrictions on Spain.

so you better watch the f out

    or you will be sad

How’s about Israel shove a nuke up his butt and set it off since he is so enamored with them. What a maroon. I swear. Do you have to be a loon to become a Eurotrash PM these days or does it just help.

He should have ended his speech with
ALLAH ACKBAR MF

He regrets stealing land from the Moors.

Franco was better. A dictator with a sense of humor. Eva Perez visited and her motorcade was greeted with shouts of “Puta! Puta!” (whore). Perez complained to Franco.

Franco said even though he’d been out of the military for over a decade, people still called him “General.”

It struck me as a Kamala Harris moment.

You mean Eva Peron. I lived in Spain when Franco was in power. Never impressed me or any Spaniards I knew as having a sense of humor.

drsamherman in reply to NavyMustang. | September 12, 2025 at 10:07 pm

Neither did the Perons ever have a sense of humor, especially Evita. She had Juan round up a group of society matrons that had snubbed her for a charity function (she was his mistress at the time) by his secret police, the SI (Secretariat of Intelligence) and beaten up and dumped on the streets outside of a very seedy area of Buenos Aires while he had their husbands pistol whipped in the same manner. Juan Peron then allowed them to “buy” their innocence for large “donations” to Evita’s “charity” (herself).

I have seen the Spanish military in action
(stationed in Rota Sp.) the PM should be glad
that they dont have nukes ….
they would most likely drop the bombs
on their own people… the planes
that managed to get airborne without crashing.

    We shouldn’t through stones.

We lost 4 nukes from a B-52 over spain in the 60s.

DaveGinOly in reply to ztakddot. | September 12, 2025 at 5:34 pm

Yeah. We flew a couple of hundred B-52s around the clock for decades and a few accidents happened. It’s not possible to clock the kind of mission time that was clocked by SAC during the Cold War and not have a mishap now and then. Men aren’t robots and systems fail. What SAC did during the Cold War couldn’t have been accomplished by any other air force in the world, much less Spain’s.

ztakddot in reply to DaveGinOly. | September 13, 2025 at 6:53 pm

In this case a nuke carrying B52 collided midair with a tanker, I would like to think such an accident could be avoided but perhaps wishful thinking. I don’t know the details though.
It’s still an issue though in 2025.

The things a Commie will do/say to distract people from his own failures.

Keep this and the other equally oddball statements and actions of more than a few European Nations in mind the next time the globalists/neocons start beating the drum for further US military commitments and the ‘relevance’ of NATO. More than a few NATO member gov’t seem quite determined to get into bed with the enemies of Western Civilization.

ztakddot in reply to CommoChief. | September 12, 2025 at 4:20 pm

Some already are: Turkey, UK, France, Sweden with others close behind.

Israel is going to need more nukes and delivery vehicles for its Samson option.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | September 12, 2025 at 5:36 pm

    What’s the saying?
They’re willing to feed Israel to the alligator in hopes the alligator eats them last?

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | September 12, 2025 at 7:12 pm

IMO they’re also sacrificing their own children or probably more like other people’s children given the wokiesta fixation on not bringing children into the world b/c ‘climate change’. Some of it is performative for their growing ‘migrant’ proportion of their population who the European elite/ruling class seems hell bent on not offending, even when gangs rape their children.

In 1492, Spain expelled Jews through the Alhambra Decree.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

Remember the following part of it

“The leader of the far-right party Vox, Santiago Abascal, claimed that “Sánchez would like to have nuclear weapons … but not to defend Spain.

Right-wing commentators have also been quick to judge the premier’s comments.”

This establishes two things

1. The left has utterly obliterated any meaningful definition of far right (the REAl Spanish Far right is actually far right i.e. neo-Nazi).

2. Sanchez does not speak for all of Spain only the leftists and the Spanish hating nationalists.

CommoChief in reply to Danny. | September 12, 2025 at 5:31 pm

All Nazis aka National Socialists (or more correctly National Socialist German Workers Party) are of the LEFT. It’s lefty wokiesta propaganda that Nazis are of the political right. Stalin rejected the fascists of Mussolini’s Italy and Hitler’s Germany as insufficiently committed to communist ideals so from Stalin’s perspective they were to HIS right on the political spectrum.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | September 12, 2025 at 5:41 pm

      Saved me the trouble.

I will remark that many of the Nazi Party’s early recruits came from the German communist party (one of them was Goebbels’ brother). Those supporters did not change sides from Left to Right, they changed brands of socialism, trading International (Soviet-dominated) Communism for German National Socialism. This is why there were street fights in Germany between the two sides – both parties were jockeying for the support of the same, left-leaning segment of the German people.

While true to a vast majority of people “far left” means communist while “far right” means well what I described.

The term however has no meaning at all if it is being applied to Vox.

CommoChief in reply to Danny. | September 13, 2025 at 12:07 pm

Sure it does…for those who choose to spread the propaganda lies designed by the leftists to avoid accountability for their own creation of monsters. It also applies for those who meekly roll over on command of the leftists who warp history, manipulate language, history and alter definitions to form and perpetuate the preferred wokiesta narrative.

I’d suggest we stop allowing the leftist wokiestas to set the terms of the debate, reject their patently false interpretations, self serving attempts to redefine words and in general refuse their bad faith efforts at communicating. IOW effing ignore them until they confess, perform assigned acts of contrition and sincerely apologize….other than noting their unhinged rantings, violent rhetoric and threats which we should definitely take seriously as this past week’s murder of Kirk demonstrates.

”Sorry that we don’t have nuclear bombs to prevent Israel from striking Gaza”

Another member of the “Schicklgruber was a weenie who should have finished the job” club self-identifies.

Spain has been unimportant in world history since the defeat of their Armada by the English in 1588.

MoeHowardwasright | September 12, 2025 at 3:36 pm

I’m sure Secretary Rubio can let him know in his native language to FO! Spain is a disaster to begin with. Can’t even keep the lights on with dependency on solar and windmills.

Somebody should tell this clown that Israel DOES have nuclear weapons. Sánchez should consider whether he wants all of Spain glassed because of his Jew hatred.

destroycommunism | September 12, 2025 at 4:18 pm

he just declared war on his country

he best pray that israel doesnt find the jihadists he is harboring

I think some months back elderly Spaniards discovered them resulting in now suppressed mass protests.

It also isn’t his country he is in coalition with anti-Spanish nationalists who despise Spain.

Have we seen nationalists with socialists before I think there was a certain mustache man.

EJECT Spain from NATO. They want Armageddon.
I am sure some nation will rush in and take Spain, if Big Daddy USA is not backing their security.

    CommoChief in reply to Dana322. | September 12, 2025 at 6:22 pm

Better yet the USA should withdraw from NATO. The Soviet Union is long gone, 30+ years, and the former Warsaw Pact Nations are themselves now members of NATO, the EU or both. The Nations of Europe are more than capable of standing on their own militarily …if they choose to reorder their spending priorities. If not then they ain’t worth much as viable allies.

ztakddot in reply to CommoChief. | September 13, 2025 at 6:59 pm

I knew the post Soviet rational for remaining in NATO. As I recall it was if we want an economic stake in Europe as it restructures with the creation of the EU we still have to be over there and involved militarily. Doesn’t seem to apply these days so I have no idea why we are still involved. We can still be allies (if it’s in our interest) without contributing directly to their defense. I don’t believe we will ever fight a war in Europe again (famous last words)
and it would be absurd to base much of our defense around one),

CommoChief in reply to ztakddot. | September 14, 2025 at 6:33 am

One thing is for sure, we ain’t gonna fight it for them if they choose to remain incapable of doing so for themselves. IMO any decision for US military commitment abroad should look far more like WWI in terms of timing. Let the Nations directly impacted fight it out for extended period and then only if we are drawn in become directly involved. The USA has got to stop being the military instrument of Western Civilization unless other Western are making equal or greater commitments.

People like this, so correct and self-righteous, should be asked a question, “Which side would Hitler have supported, Hamas or Israel?”

They call Trump and Netanyahu “Hitler.” The lack of self-awareness is off the dial.

Frezz in the hizzy | September 12, 2025 at 5:51 pm

I lived in Spain for three years and am married to a Spaniard. I honestly believe that Sanchez is a sociopath. He will say absolutely anything and make a deal with the devil to maintain power. He reminds me a lot of G Newsome.

He has cut deals with the Catalanes and the Basque separatist party (some real anti Spanish shitbags) to create a fragile balance of power.

They’ve got their own border issues there and Sanchez would absolutely LOVE to be overrun with North Africans, so he is a natural ally of the Islamists.

La media ahí es peor que aquí si es posible. No son capaces de describir el partido Vox sin hablar de “la derecha extrema.”

The young people there are so brainwashed it’s not even funny. But there’s a groundswell of regular people that are pretty pissed off, maybe a little bit like what’s happening in England.

When you’re driving south of Cadiz down towards Tarifa the landscape is absolutely littered with shitty old windmills, many of which don’t work. A few months back when they had that big power outage, remember? Eight days before that they were bragging that over 80% of their grid was powered by renewables.
It came out that they were only a few minutes away from most of the continent going dark, but France came in and goosed there shit up at the last second. The media over there barely covered it correctly. Those dumbasses over there love AI and I swear they think that solar and wind is gonna power it.

Spain is screwed and I don’t think there is any way back for them. The idea of liberty of the individual is not part of their thinking on any level. They’re just always complaining about corruption, which I’m sure is a legitimate complaint as well.

By making this statement, it tells the world that he isn’t smart enough to rule a country. That is one of the dumbest things I have heard anyone say in a while. It’s right up there with Baghdad Bob!

McGehee 🇺🇲 | September 12, 2025 at 6:49 pm

Spain would regret having nukes even more.

Commiefornia Refugee | September 12, 2025 at 7:27 pm

Sanchez could have served as PM during Franco’s rule.

Clearly unfit to govern Spain.

Also stupid on steroids to encourage Israel to put Madrid at the top of its Samson Option list!!!

Wasn’t spain under muslim control for 800 years? Why doesn’t he volunteer to resettle refugees from gaza?

Did he just indirectly endorse iran’s nuclear weapons policy?

The idiotic, feckless, stupid, despicable, emasculated, contemptible and morally bankrupt Spanish government appears enthusiastic about ushering in a revival of the Cordoba caliphate, or, some other flavor/iteration of Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist domination and attendant oppression, misery, murders and atrocities, in Spain.

What utterly wicked and despicable dhimmi, leftist fools we’re witnessing, here.

If the Jews don’t understand by now that they are the only ones interested in saving themselves then they never will understand that no one, other than Trumps America, is going to help them.
