One Year Ago Today: Israel Eliminated Hezbollah Terror Chief Hassan Nasrallah
“During Nasrallah’s 32-year leadership of Hezbollah, he was responsible for planning and executing multiple terrorist operations in Israel and abroad.”
As the Middle East marks one year since Israel eliminated Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, the Iran-sponsored terrorist group is merely a shadow of its former self.
On the evening of September 27, 2024, as many as 80 Israeli bunker-busting bombs struck a secret underground Hezbollah complex in Beirut’s southern suburbs, killing Nasrallah and several of his terror commanders.

Nasrallah, the 64-year-old terror chief, was the founding member of Hezbollah and became its commander-in-chief in 1992 after his predecessor, Abbas al-Musawi, was killed in an Israeli airstrike. “During Nasrallah’s 32-year leadership of Hezbollah, he was responsible for planning and executing multiple terrorist operations in Israel and abroad,” the Jerusalem Post wrote, noting his lifelong terrorist career.

Nasrallah was also responsible for decades of civil strife and armed conflict in Lebanon. After Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, murdering over 1200 Israelis and taking 251 hostages, the Hezbollah chief dragged Lebanon into a war with Israel.

With Israel Defense Forces (IDF) amassing armour and reservists in the south in the wake of the October 7 massacre, Nasrallah, acting on the behest of Iran, saw this as an opportunity to unleash a campaign of cross-border terror against Israel. On October 8, 2023, Hezbollah terrorists — from their well-dug-in positions in southern Lebanon — began firing missiles, rockets, and drones across the border, forcing around 80,000 people to flee their homes in northern Israel.
Israel’s patience finally ran out when Hezbollah fired an Iranian-made missile at a soccer field in the Golan Heights, killing 12 children — all of them between the ages of 10 and 16.
The retaliation began on September 17, 2024, with Mossad’s legendary pager strike. Hezbollah beepers exploded simultaneously, killing 42 and maiming 3,500 terrorists, moderate estimates suggest.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) followed up with precision strikes on Hezbollah’s command structure in southern and central Lebanon. These strikes took out almost the entire Hezbollah leadership. Ten days later, on September 27, 2024, Nasrallah himself was eliminated.
Nasrallah’s killing was the biggest blow to Iran’s global terrorist axis since the Quds Forces chief, Qasem Soleimani, was taken out in an airstrike ordered by President Donald Trump in early 2020. And this was just the beginning. Syria, Iran’s strongest terrorist outpost in the Arab world, crumbled with the fall of the Assad regime in early December 2024.
Israel dismantled Iran’s nuclear weapons program and eliminated key nuclear experts during the 12-Day War (June 13-24, 2025). The Mullah regime was to lose its military-terrorist top brass in the opening salvos of the war, with IAF strikes killing chiefs of armed forces, air force, and Islamic Guard (IRGC), along with other senior commanders.
Hezbollah, which operates as a “state within a state” in Lebanon, is staging a public event to mark the first death anniversary of its slain terror chief.
“Lebanese armed group Hezbollah on Saturday will commemorate one year since its then-chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed by Israel,” Reuters reported. “Crowds are expected to gather in Hezbollah strongholds in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon’s south and east. The group’s secretary-general, Naim Qassem, who took over a month after Nasrallah’s killing, will make an address.”
Last February, Israeli fighter jets buzzed Nasrallah’s funeral ceremony, attended by representatives of Houthi and other pro-Iranian terrorist groups.
“Israeli Air Force aircraft currently flying over Beirut, over the funeral of Hassan Nasrallah, convey a clear message: Those who threaten to destroy Israel and attack Israel, it will be their end,” Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed shortly after the incident.
“You will specialize in funerals, and we will in victories,” Katz added.

IDF expands ground offensive in Gaza City, 120 Hamas terror targets struck
With Hamas still holding 48 hostages, the Israeli military is widening its ground offensive in Gaza City, the last main Hamas stronghold in the enclave.
Israeli “troops continue to expand operations in the Gaza City area. Over the past day, numerous weapons, including anti-tank missiles, rockets, explosives, and weapons were located, and several terrorists who posed a threat to the troops were eliminated,” the IDF disclosed Saturday.
The Israeli Air Force struck some 120 targets in the Gaza Strip in the past day, including buildings used by terror groups, terror operatives, and other infrastructure, the military says, as troops continue to advance in Gaza City.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) supported the ground operation by hitting Hamas targets across Gaza. Fighter jets “struck several observation posts used by Hamas terrorists to monitor IDF troops, as well as gathering points for terrorists and underground terror infrastructure. In addition, the troops dismantled explosive devices that had been planted in the area,” the IDF added. “Over the past day, the IAF struck approximately 120 terror targets, including military structures, terrorists, and additional terrorist infrastructure.”

Can we assume that the Democrats will be holding memorial services for Nasrallah in honor of the anniversary?
