Amid a massive campaign to malign and intimidate Israel on the world stage, Prime Minister Netanyahu on Friday delivered a defiant speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In a disgraceful display, several European diplomats joined those from rogue Islamic and Arab regimes in staging a walkout as the wartime Israeli leader approached the podium. “Those walking out include representatives from Arab, Muslim and African countries but also several from European states,” The Times of Israel observed.
The Israeli prime minister was also greeted with applause by representatives from friendly nations. “There were boos and cheers,” The Guardian (UK) noted.
Prime Minister Netanyahu began his speech by recalling the plight of Israeli hostages languishing in Hamas captivity for more than 700 days. “Much of the world no longer remembers 7 October. But we remember,” he said. “We’ve not forgotten you – not even for a second.”
For Hamas, the Israeli leader had a simple message. “Lay down your arms. Free all hostages now,” he urged, “if you do, you will live. If you don’t Israel will hunt you down.”
Mobile phones across Gaza were reportedly ‘taken over’ for Netanyahu’s message to reach Hamas capturers, as well as Israeli hostages. “Israeli PM Netanyahu says Israel set up loudspeakers and took over cell phones around Gaza so remaining hostages could potentially hear his speech to the United Nations,” NBC News revealed.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised President Donald Trump for his support in dismantling Iran’s nuclear weapons program during the 12-Day War. “Our daring pilots neutralised Iran’s missile defences and took control of the skies over Tehran,” he said. “Israeli fighter pilots and American B-2 pilots bombed Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites.”
“This war will go down in the annals of military history,” he said, praising President Trump “for his bold and decisive action.”
“President Trump and I promised to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and we delivered on that promise,” the Israeli PM declared.
The Israeli prime minister slammed European and Western leaders tripping over each other to reward Palestinian terrorists with their own state, less than two years after the October 7 massacre. “This week, the leaders of France, Britain, Australia, Canada, and other countries unconditionally recognised a Palestinian state. They did so after the horrors committed by Hamas on 7 October – horrors praised on that day by nearly 90% of the Palestinian population,” he said.
Netanyahu also pushed back against the false narrative of genocide and starvation in Gaza, calling it a ‘joke.’
“Israel is accused of deliberately starving Gaza residents, when it has brought in more than two million tons of food and aid, almost 3,000 calories per person every day. What starvation?” he said.
The food shortages in Gaza are Hamas’s own making. “If there are Gazans who don’t have enough food, it’s because Hamas is stealing it. Hamas steals it, hoards it, and sells it at exorbitant prices to fight its war machine,” he added.
The UN speech was broadcast to Hamas terrorists and Gaza residents from loudspeakers mounted on IDF trucks, Israeli media reports suggest. The prime minister’s office directed the IDF “to have his UN speech Friday broadcast through loudspeakers for Gazans to hear it live,” the newspaper Israel Hayom reported Friday.
The Israel Hayom further added:
According to the Prime Minister’s Office: “As part of the informational campaign, the Prime Minister’s Office directed civilian factors in collaboration with the IDF to position speakers on trucks solely on the Israeli side of the Gaza border, to transmit into the Gaza Strip the landmark speech of Prime Minister Netanyahu Friday at the UN General Assembly. Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed to confirm clearly that this operation would not risk IDF soldiers.”According to a host of sources, the speech of Prime Minister Netanyahu is anticipated to feature a direct appeal to Gaza residents with focus on Israel’s wish to liberate them from the Hamas regime that employs them as hostages. For this reason Netanyahu sought the placement of the speakers.
