Michael Shellenberger: The Anti-Civilization Left Has Become a ‘Death Cult’

The journalist Michael Shellenberger appeared on Watters World this weekend and described the left as a “death cult” while reacting to the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the flood of ghoulish glee that followed from certain people.
Shellenberger is not a conservative; he is just a person with common sense who sees that the rhetoric of Democrats and the media has brought us to this point. He also calls out colleges and universities for the role they have played in this.

So the country has mourned, we are continuing to mourn, but there is still an anger about how this could happen to somebody like Charlie — not a politician, not an offensive individual — what should be the reaction to violence and the atmosphere like this?
MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER, FOUNDER, “PUBLIC NEWS”: Hey, Jesse, it is great to be with you.
Look, I think there are a lot of things that need to happen right now. I mean, first and foremost is that we, as a society need to call on those Democrat leaders who you highlighted earlier that have been — who have been dehumanizing, degrading conservatives, Republicans, the MAGA movement, Donald Trump in particular, dehumanization is what precedes atrocities and we have known that historically for a very long time and that’s what we saw happen.
They need to renounce what they were saying about fascism, about Nazism. They need to take accountability that there are consequences for what they are doing, and it was to program an entire generation into an utterly absurd fantasy that the United States was being taken over by fascism. I mean, you saw it on the bullet casings of the alleged assassin himself.
I mean, the second thing is that, we need a deradicalization program of colleges, of universities, of the schools and what we know from past deradicalization efforts around the world is that it is essential for people who have been radicalized to have a new identity, that comes from a new purpose in life and part of a new community, and they also need as part of that purpose, they need to come back to a story that is true about America, about why it is special, why it is different from so many so many other oppressive societies in the past, the freest society that has ever existed.
We need to aggressively push back against that. The universities need to do that, the colleges need to do that, there needs to be — and if the Democrats aren’t going to do this, Jesse, then they need to be called out for it, because look, this shooter, this alleged shooter, he is downstream from a decade, at least a decade or more of that dehumanization.

In our current environment, I fear that Shellenberger’s calls for accountability will fall on deaf ears. The left has shown us repeatedly over the last several days that they are incapable of reading the room.

They are not going to do this. If anything, they’re going to double down, see the recent comments by Crocket and Omar for reference.
There can be no reconciliation without having achieved victory first and there has been no surrender by the enemy. To put this in the context of the first Civil war (because we are now in the midst of a second one, make no mistake) the Confederacy did not show up in Appomattox the morning after Fort Sumter.
I mourn the loss of Kirk for many reasons, not the least of which is the realization that he is not going to be the last one to fall in this existential battle for our republic.
I can only take solace in the knowledge that my countrymen are now awake to the danger that the left poses.
Ah at last my description of the forces of evil…’anti-civilization’. Our political leftwing and their enablers, Islamists including Hamas and their enablers, Russian attempts to regain lost empire. All 3 fronts of the same war. More fronts to come.

Add to that, to program an entire generation into the utterly absurd fantasy that there is no real difference between men and women, and you can be whichever you like just by pretending.
The left has done everything they can — feminism, painting men as “toxic,” directly promoting LGBTQ orientations under the guise of “supporting” them, encouraging youngsters experiencing a common but temporary sexual angst to permanently neuter their bodies (would they encourage callers to a suicide helpline?), and even possibly* including deliberate chemical impairment via the vaxx — to destroy the very foundations of the human reproductive family structure.
How many women are now convinced they would choose the bear over the man?
I need not even propose a conspiracy theory here, just work backwards from results: the birthrate in Western societies everywhere is plunging (except for their most recent immigrants). I don’t need to claim causation, just put the evident correlation in front of you and let you decide if it’s damning.
* “Possibly” refers ONLY to whether or not it was deliberate, or just incompetence on the part of Big Pharma. There is no question at all that the vaxx has been proven to cause significant reproductive harm.

Putin is portrayed badly in Western media because much Western media is controlled by globalists, not because he’s a “dictator,” just as Trump is portrayed badly and isn’t a “fascist” or “Nazi.” Russia was forced into war by globalist forces that wanted to weaken and marginalize Putin, and to drive wedges between Putin and countries led by nationalists who might otherwise be friendly with Russia. Alignments between countries led by nationalists are to be avoided.

High time to go back to see how post-war Germany was de-radicalized from national socialism; and do the same to colleges, universities, primary and secondary schools, and oh yes, the media.
Half of it was re-radicalized into international socialism. When they finally knocked down the partition, those people re-infected the rest of it. About the only lesson to be learned here is that the entire “free” half of the country turned out not to matter — they were reconquered by the slavers easy as pie.

I was so good we automatically return foreign students who riot back to their home countries and block them from coming into the US again, ever?
And if they ever think they could run any of these institutions, any better they’re sadly mistaken. It takes years, decades to know how to manage Operations as big as some of these are. They would just fall apart. Perhaps that’s why the university systems in many countries where these immigrants come from are not very good.
How naive. These people will never “renounce,” they will never “accept”responsibility. Among the other lessons the history Shellenberger is so enraptured with is that the only way to stop the ‘fall,’ if you will, is to replace these people. The USSR, Russia, was overrun with “democrats” upon its fall, they were coming out of the woodwork in the Kremlin, they were everywhere. They were welcomed into the “brotherhood of man” by the west. Now look at the place and its world.
Does anyone really expect Barack Obama and his entire entourage to change his and their beliefs, accept responsibility for his and their actions? He is exponentially worse than the Biden’s, who are cheap street bums by comparison. The Clintons? Does any sane person expect, seriously expect, the boards and trustees to change their ways, that their front people will suddenly fall to their knees and in shock at what they have done, permitted, and encouraged. That’s laughable.
These people need to be replaced, legally, honestly, and by the unremitting, non-stop force of argument by the likes of Charlie Kirk. There needs to be a holding action led by the likes of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu while this happens.. it is the only way we and the world will survive without descent into a twenty first century version of the twentieth century’s morass.
Will the mayor of London – or King Charles for that matter – change? Is Zoran (sp?) Mamdani going to metastasize into Rudy Giuliani next week? Are Karen Bass, Gavin Newsom, or the shop worn tired old retread, Andrew Cuomo likely to change? Replace them. Easier said than done, but new faces must emerge. These folks must be put out into the trash. They, their acolytes, and front people are and will be in the history books, there is no question. To cite an old adage, in what respect remains to be seen, it depends upon who writes the history. Push them aside, mock them, replace them with new blood while there is time.
