Hegseth Orders Generals, Admirals Worldwide to Attend Meeting Next Week

Do we need to stock up on toilet paper?

Time to stock up on toilet paper?

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered top admirals and generals worldwide to attend a meeting next week at a Marine Corps base in Virginia.

The order applies “to all senior officers with the rank of brigadier general or above, or their Navy equivalent, serving in command positions and their top enlisted advisers.”

From The Washington Post:

The highly unusual directive was sent to virtually all of the military’s top commanders worldwide, according to more than a dozen people familiar with the matter. It was issued earlier this week, against the backdrop of a potential government shutdown, and as Hegseth’s overtly political moves have deepened a sense of distress among his opponents who fear that he is erasing the Defense Department’s status as a nonpartisan institution.

In a statement Thursday, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell affirmed that Hegseth “will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week,” but he offered no additional details. Parnell, a senior adviser to the defense secretary, voiced no security concerns about The Washington Post reporting on the meeting, scheduled for Tuesday in Quantico, Virginia.

It was not immediately clear whether the White House is involved with the meeting or if President Donald Trump also intends to be there. A spokesperson referred questions to the Pentagon.

The United States has around 800 generals and admirals in the country and around the world.

No one knows the meeting’s agenda. Those who spoke to WaPo cannot remember “a defense secretary ever ordering so many of the military’s generals and admirals to assemble like this.”

First thing that came to mind is the legendary meeting/purge Saddam had in 1979 when he took over Iraq. Ordered all the officials of the Baath party and government to a hall. A high ranking, friend of Saddam read a speech confessing to a supposed coup plot. Saddam would then read a list of names and those called would stand up and leave the hall. It was all video taped and you could see the audience was terrified. The ones that got called were taking out and shot…;.by some of the people in the audience. If they didn’t shoot them, they would be shot.

I get the feeling there are going to be officers that are told to stand up and leave the room.

There is no question that this is some part of a reduction in force. Some officer might be told to stand up and leave the room, but none will be taken outside and shot.

I don’t think so. I think it’s a messaging and ‘get with the program” or put your papers in mtg

note that non command GOs aren’t invited, but Sgt’s Major are. those staff General would include weaker guys, but not guys who impact the message as much

Seems like 750 too many generals.

At the end of WW II, there were 32 four stars. (12 million active duty)

Now, there about 37 four stars. (1.3 million active duty)

    These numbers speak for themselves.

How else could they fill out the roster of the attendees on the Georgetown cocktail party circuit?

In the WWI and WW2 era the officer career was 40 years long. LTCs and COLs were doing the jobs the GO/FOs do now because they had those years of experience.

When careers were cut to 20-30 years, it made the growth inevitable.

I’m hoping it’s a big PT test, but I think it will be policy and force structure related.

Yes, but prior to WWII the USA was not the global power it is today.

WWII was fought in two major. well-defined theaters. It was only a “World War” due to the number of nations that contributed to the war effort, not because it was literally a world-wide war on the ground.

Since WWII the US has become a global superpower, the only one that currently exists. Like the old British Empire, the sun never sets on the US military anymore.

That takes an extraordinary command structure. 800 Generals & Admirals? Maybe not…but certainly many hundreds unless or until our global presence changes.

No bureaucracy is as permanent as the military one. My guess the brass hats are going to be warned about foot dragging in ridding the services of wokeness.

I hope he has told the 25 +/- and “their enlisted advisers” to “shelter in (an appropriate) place” and “expect a field promotion”.

Too many to know or trust is 750 – 800.

Anyone who over the last 30 years has had any dealings with this level (active or retired) will be able to speak to how “ends justify means” is not just on the battlefield but among the politicians favored to “handout” favored appropriations and promotions.

Both bushes, clinton, “the kenyan”, and the “autopen” should all be disparaged, tried and those living …

The UK has more admirals than ships. Mark Felton’s youtube videos are superb for everything he covers, and his review of present UK military is stark. The Brit’s lease… yes… lease nuclear warheads for their subs from US. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to lease the warheads from Russia or China?

also I think they would address the news that france and italy are sending in their navy to aid the plo

I offered that up in another LI article after the eurotrash said they would honor the plo with statehood…that they would supply the same with military aid

a here we are just a few days later and they do just that

dont think for a second that this is some passive move by the eurotrashists

this is a direct move to interfere with Israels right of sovereignty

France and Germany are far too eager to get into another war on the same side.

According to CoPilot, this is the first time all generals and admirals will meet together.

Is WW III coming soon?

I believe there are several issues: 1) we are top heavy with Generals/Admirals, 2) the military in many cases has become political, and 3) with the way Europe is moving to push it’s military toward Ukraine-Russia conflict we may get out of NATO.

Do they actually have to get together in person? Imagine the cost. Zoom or something similar is your friend.

Just so everyone knows, this isn’t just the top ranking generals. Brigadier General/Rear Admiral lower half is a 1 Star. So this will be all 1 stars and up this is almost all of the General Officers with their top advisers.

This sounds like the makings of a high level arse chewing

It’s too insane

Then to publicly put it out there

It seems odd to put all the military high value targets in one p lace at one time. And to publicly name the time and place!

At least we don’t need to worry about a leak!

What if an enemy hits the meeting with a drone or missile?

That was my first thought as well. When I read that the meeting place was the Marine Base at Quantico, I figured if we couldn’t protect our people there, we may as well hang it up.

Then they bombed a US military base within spitting distance of Washington DC.
    If they manage that:
    1. We deserved it. Because we wouldn’t be able to protect our capital.
    2. I imagine Trump would reduce their country to glowing radioactive cinders soon after.

Conservative Beaner | September 25, 2025 at 7:17 pm

Why the top enlisted advisors. Are they getting a spanking along with the brass.

Stay tuned.

1. I suspect the Festivus “Airing of Grievances” is arriving early this year. 2. Internal resistance to Hegseth and Trump policies is still ongoing: my guess is Hegseth is going to inform the generals inno uncertain terms to either get with the program or else they can retire and Pete will find other people who will.

Between depriving a man of one hour from his life and depriving him of his life there exists only a difference of degree. You have done violence to him, consumed his energy. Elaborate euphemisms may conceal your intent to kill, but behind any use of power over another the ultimate assumption remains: “I feed on your energy.”

Agreed. This is overdue. It’s also a symbolic thing to bring them together. When the Sec Def enters the room all of these Generals/Admirals are supposed to come to their feet and assume the position of ‘Attention’ in deference to the authority of the Sec.Def. Ordering them to come to him is a little like getting sent to the Principal’s office and a not so subtle reminder of the power of his office and very importantly, the backing of Trump 2.0 WH to carry out the mission of reforming the DoD and culling those with an agenda that differs from the duly elected Commander in Chief.

“Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?”

“…Hegseth’s overtly political moves have deepened a sense of distress among his opponents who fear that he is erasing the Defense Department’s status as a nonpartisan institution.”
———

Leave it to the wretched Pravda on the Potomac Dhimmi-crat propaganda rag to malign SecDef Hesgeth, while actually describing DoD under the despicable and vile Lloyd Austin.

We’re supposed to believe the farcical notion that DoD was allegedly a “nonpartisan institution” under the sainted and perennially non-partisan Dhimmi-crats, of course.

“Hegseth’s overtly political moves…”. Like what? He has a political appointment so everything he does involves politics like terminating DEI hires and reinstituting physical standards.

How about this doofuss, Matthew DiBiase:
“When someone orders the entire top leadership of all branches in the military to gather in one place then the following possibilities must be considered:
“1) Hitler Oath: either they all swear eternal loyalty to the Fuhrer (and not to the Constitution—which all members of the military must do when joining) or those who refuse will be fired (and later on to be tortured and executed once democracy is overthrown).”

Bob Woodward’s book “War”:

“He [Trump] is the most dangerous person ever.” [Gen. Mark] Milley elaborated, “I had doubts when I discussed his mental decline with you, but now I understand that he embodies total fascism. He represents the greatest threat to this nation.” Repeating with emphasis, Milley said, “A fascist to the core.”

Maybe a Come to Jesus meeting with the military mucky-mucks isn’t the worst idea in the world.
