Harvard Law Prof Laurence Tribe Pushed False Talking Point That Kirk Shooter Was ‘Ultra-MAGA’

Harvard Law Prof Laurence Tribe Pushed False Talking Point That Kirk Shooter Was ‘Ultra-MAGA’

“My reaction saying he was to Kirk’s right was premature, and I’m sorry I reposted a tweet to that effect before deleting my repost.”

Anyone who has spent time on Twitter/X knows that Tribe has a reputation for being a total wingnut. There were a number of people on the left who pushed this because they wanted so badly for it to be true. Tribe has since walked it back, see his tweet below:

FOX News reports:

Harvard Law professor spreads debunked rumor about Charlie Kirk assassination suspect

A distinguished Harvard Law professor and legal scholar was hammered on social media after spreading a debunked rumor that the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination was “ultra-MAGA” and that Republicans were trying to “blame” liberals for the tragedy.

Laurence Tribe made the comment in a post on X that shared a lengthy post from an account called Occupy Democrats, which attempted to paint a picture of suspect Tyler Robinson’s political ideology.

“Kirk’s apparent assassin seems to have been ultra-MAGA, exploding the GOP/MAGA attempt to pin the blame for this tragedy on liberals,” wrote Tribe, a professor at Harvard Law School from 1968 until his retirement in 2020. He is currently the Carl M. Loeb University Professor Emeritus at the school.

Robinson, 22, was in a “romantic relationship” with a transgender partner, senior-level FBI officials confirmed to Fox News Digital. The officials said Robinson lived with the unnamed person, who is a male transitioning to a female and that they shared an apartment in Saint George, Utah.

I’d expect nothing less from Tribe.

Tribe is a progressive harvard asshole. But I repeat myself. In the 79s and 80s there was always talk about him being a candidate for the supreme court. Thank god that never happened.

BTW: Tribe has often spoken about Obama as his student and spoke positively. Still didn’t get him nominated – haha I suppose an appeals court was beneath him.

He’s still an a*hole:
“2. Those calling the suspected assassin trans, liberal, or a radical leftist are exploiting a tragedy for political gain by making stuff up.”
You mean… like every single person in the killer’s own family?
And the FBI?
And that was part of his “apology!”

“Harvard Law Prof Lawrence Tribe”
Breitbart and O’Keefe have “Retracto, the Correction Alpaca.”
Donald Trump needs a “Defundo, the Academic Grant Elephant.”

“Distinguished professor”? More like distinguished lunatic

He was a distinguished professor in the 1970s. His course on Constitutional Law was consistently fully subscribed. His treatise, “American Constitutional Law,” was anticipated like the release of a block-buster movie. His evidence class was excellent (and because he had been a math major, he included the subject of Bayesian inference). He was liberal like most professors, but it didn’t dilute or skew his ability to teach the material fairly and effectively. As to the Supreme Court, rumor was that when a seat was added to the 1st Cir. in 1980, Sen. Kennedy suggested to Pres. Carter that he appoint Tribe, but Carter said Tribe was too liberal to get through the Senate, so Kennedy’s next choice was another Harvard Prof., Stephen Breyer, who was appointed.

I’d hardly call his behavior retiring. Seems more consistent with a typical aging pseudointellecual prima donna who is still attention seeking, but too cognitively impaired to realize how poorly he is coming across to most normal people.

Shooter is trantifa. trans + antifa.

Dems claim to support both.

No, the shooter is not trans. His boy/girlfriend is. He’s trans-supporting, but not actually trans himself, which is important because if we’re blaming the hormones then he’s not taking any. On the contrary, his whateverfriend who is taking the hormones is the normal one, who had no idea and is cooperating fully.

Harvard facing severe damage to reputation nowadays with claudine gay debacle, and wing nuts like this from the law school.

The harvard of 50 years ago doesn’t exist anymore, the woke mind virus runs deep.

plenty of evidence out there that supports that havard was pro nazi

A historian is claiming that Harvard and its president, James B. Conant ’14, built “deliberate ties” with Hitler’s regime, even as reports of anti-Jewish policies in pre-war Nazi Germany made their way across the Atlantic.

Stephen Norwood, a professor of history and Judaic studies at the University of Oklahoma, presented evidence yesterday that a high-ranking Nazi officer was offered an honorary position at his 25th Harvard reunion, that crew members of a Nazi naval ship were invited to a reception benefiting Phillips Brooks House and that the University recognized the 550th anniversary of the University of Heidelberg, a German institution purged of Jewish professors. Norwood also cited Crimson editorials as evidence of anti-Semitism within the Harvard student body.

“It is truly shameful that administrators, alumni and student leaders of America’s most prominent university, who were in a position to influence public opinion at a critical time, remained indifferent to Germany’s terrorist persecution against the Jews,” Norwood said at a conference at Boston University sponsored by the David Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies.

So Tribe blames the Right before the facts are known, then when it’s revealed the shooter is from the trans, liberal, radical leftist side of the spectrum, Tribe wants everyone to sing Kumbaya because stating the facts is “exploiting a tragedy for political gain”?

If not for double standards …
