Grounds for Expulsion Week in Education

Grounds for Expulsion Week in Education

Your weekly report on education news.

People on the left continue to lose jobs in education over their comments on Charlie Kirk. In some cases, it’s students too.

These people just can’t seem to help themselves.

Nothing seems too low.

This is why it’s dangerous.

Meanwhile, all of the typical craziness on campus continues.

There is some good news this week.

Sadly true.

The trouble with Kirk is the same as the trouble with Vance. He’s too young to know stuff about how reality feeds back into principles and so makes all sorts of principled mistakes. E.g. Kirk being unnecessarily mean to specific blacks, unnecessarily stupid about Jews. Clips will keep coming up so long as there’s an effort to deify him, which is a Republican play to soap opera the dems to death.

You do realize that Kirk is dead, right?

Or do you need a remedial grammar class?

As to your point (such as it is) at what age is someone no longer too young to know stuff? Kirk was roughly the same as as Christ when he was crucified. Was Christ too young?

Kirk was a gifted debater, so much so that he stepped into the ring at Oxford very successfully. His opinions were carefully thought out and exhibited a deep congruency, something utterly absent on the left.

    Enjoy your downvote; carry on!

Do you know Thylias? Moss. The right take on God, notice not depending on a principle but developing one with God in it.

I don’t believe in [God]. He’s just a casual acquaintance,
a comfortable associate with whom I can be myself.
To believe in Him would place Him in the center of the universe,
when He’s far more secure in the fringes,
so He doesn’t have to look over His shoulder to nab the backstabbers who want promotions,
but are tired of waiting for Him to die and set in motion the natural evolution.
      God doesn’t want to evolve.
Has been against evolution from its creation.
He doesn’t figure many possibilities are open to Him.
I think He’s wise to bide His time, even though He pales in the moonlight to just a glow…
just the warmth of hot chocolate spreading through the body like a subcutaneous halo.
But to trust in Him implicitly would be a mistake,
for then He would not have to maintain His worthiness to be God.
Even the thinnest flyweight modicum of doubt gives God the necessity
to prove He’s worthy of the implicit trust I can never give
because I protect Him from corruption,
from the complacency that rises within Him sometimes,
      a shadowy ever-descending brother.

        Pseudo intellectual poser.

          He’s a hate-filled POS.

Dolce Far Niente in reply to smooth. | September 20, 2025 at 11:29 am

Worse, he is a psychopath. And I mean that clinically, not a a pejorative.

He is incapable of a worldview in which he is not the sole occupant. No empathy, no understanding, no identification with other people.

He knows he must sometimes act as though he does have empathy, to avoid punishment, but when he thinks there will be no negative consequences he is free to exhibit his belief in his place at the center of his constrained universe.

You are clearly a dull-minded shallow thinker who believes that spouting pretentious piffle will someone establish a reputation as an intellectual when, in truth, you are not cognitively qualified to bus tables at the Algonquin. In other words, you’re a fucking asshole.

          rhhardin in reply to Obie1. | September 20, 2025 at 12:23 pm

James Thurber used to draw at the Algonquin, in addition to the table group.

          Tiki in reply to Obie1. | September 20, 2025 at 5:17 pm

Did he pat your head and tousle your hair when you bussed his table?

They were discussing a New Yorker cartoon by W.Steig that the editors were nervous about. Graduate talking to father, holding a rolled diploma extending from both hands at waist level, “Turn around – show Aunt Sophie.”

Thurber letter: “The New Yorker has got to worrying about this picture now. Ross worried, was asking a group of Middletons, Gibbs, etc., what they thought the thing looked like, or if it looked like anything. They said it was absurd to think it looked like anything except what it was drawn for. They asked me, I studied it, and says, says I, “Why, they’re crazy, anybody can see it’s a penis; what do people take it for, a diploma or something?” Haha ha,

          You pick this stuff up.

The most amazing think about your comment is that it shows without a doubt that you don’t know anything about Kirk.

smooth in reply to rhhardin. | September 20, 2025 at 9:32 am

You didn’t know who kirk was when he got killed, as evidenced by your own comments here on LI? Now you’re expert on kirk based on talking points you got from sources like bluesky and MSNBC?

    Troll harder.

rhhardin in reply to smooth. | September 20, 2025 at 9:39 am

Other people have searched out clips, not favorable ones of course. But there they are.

alaskabob in reply to rhhardin. | September 20, 2025 at 11:24 am

Many clips have been truncated to what Kirk was reading or quoting prior to his discussion of them. Stephen King and NYT bit on these and admitted that they had not assessed the full segments. Those using these pull quotes, aren’t lying Kirk SAID, them, they lied that he believed them.

Crawford in reply to rhhardin. | September 20, 2025 at 11:06 am

This is you over at Althouse: “It might have been Jewish money, or DEI hire blacks, the two groups Kirk has been negative on in clips I’ve seen so far. Not saint stuff.”

Folks, this is who Hardin is — the topic was Kirk’s assassination, and here he’s speculating that Jews were behind it. He is scum, not worthy of being engaged.

rhhardin in reply to Crawford. | September 20, 2025 at 11:27 am

Kirk’s negative clips. Jewish money is ruining America. The following blacks are worthless.

Crawford in reply to rhhardin. | September 20, 2025 at 10:26 pm

You just proved you’re the run-of-the-mill Jew hater I always knew you were. A sack-less man-child who blames all his failures on others. There have been eunuchs more manly than you.
