George Soros Drops $10M on California Gerrymander

George Soros Drops $10M on California Gerrymander

“Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country!”

Left-wing megadonor George Soros has struck again. This time, with a massive check to help California Democrats rewrite congressional maps in their favor.

According to Politico:

“Progressive megadonor George Soros has given $10 million to boost Gov. Gavin Newsom’s redistricting campaign as Democrats continue to raise huge sums from reliable allies. The donation from Soros, first reported by the New York Times, is the single largest for Proposition 50 to date.”

The cash infusion adds to a staggering war chest of over $70 million as Democrats scramble to pass Proposition 50, which could drive out as many as half a dozen Republicans while shoring up vulnerable Democratic incumbents.

Fox News noted that Soros’s involvement is part of a bigger national strategy:

“Billionaire left-wing donor George Soros contributed $10 million to California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s ballot initiative to redistrict the state… Soros, who has helped fund left-wing campaigns stretching from district attorneys to federal elections, contributed the single largest donation amount to Newsom’s effort to redraw the state’s congressional lines.”.

This is not Soros’s first major play in California. As Politico reminded readers:

“Soros is a longstanding benefactor for the left… He has poured millions into California politics in recent years, spending $1 million to help shield Newsom from a 2021 recall attempt and working to elect progressive prosecutors who embraced lighter sentencing and tougher police accountability.”

Newsom has openly pitched the ballot measure as a counter to GOP redistricting in states like Texas:

“We’ll pick up five seats with the consent of the people. And that’s the difference between the approach we’re taking and the approach they’re taking,” Newsom declared in August. “We’re doing it on a temporary basis. We’re doing it in a fully transparent way, and we’re doing it by asking the people of the state of California for their consent and support.”

But what Democrats call “consent” looks like raw gerrymandering to everyone else. The scheme mirrors Soros’s broader playbook: flood states with dark money to tilt the playing field and weaken political opponents.

And it has not gone unnoticed. As Politico observed:

“His latest donation is likely to harden the fault lines in a race that has already become a highly partisan national fight. Republicans have long cast Soros as a malignant force, often using conspiratorial rhetoric to denounce his influence.”

President Trump himself has repeatedly warned about Soros’s influence:

“‘Soros, and his group of psychopaths, have caused great damage to our Country! That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you!’ Trump wrote on Truth Social in August.”

With Soros bankrolling the effort, California Democrats are pushing ahead full steam. The ballot fight in November is not just about California’s maps; it’s about whether one billionaire can re-engineer the political balance of Congress with his checkbook.

    He’s 95
He may very well live another decade, but, he knows what’s waiting for him when that day comes…

I think most people know where he’s headed, and it isn’t Heaven!

It’s not our place to judge that. “Man sees with his eyes, but God looks at the heart.” Soros sincerely believes he’s doing the right thing, and when he appears for a Judgment that he is not expecting, and finds out that everything he’s believed in all his life was wrong, that may well count in his favor.

Let’s all gather for a bladder emptying visit to his grave once this piece of vile excrement is room temperature.

And yet you get upset when people say that about Charlie Kirk. You can’t have it both ways. Either it’s legitimate to wish for an opponent’s death, and to celebrate when it happens, or it isn’t.

a 95 yo is more likely to expire due to age than a 31 yo

so people saying that about a 31yo are more likely talking about violence

whereas regarding a 95yo more likely about father time

Dead is dead. There is no difference between wishing someone dead by violence and by any other means.

And Kirk is already dead, so saying one is happy about it has nothing to do with violence.

destroycommunism in reply to Milhouse. | September 20, 2025 at 12:02 pm

          there is no difference?????

you take a great delight in matters of the court and yet you state that there is no difference between wishing old age catches up to someone vs violence to do them in!!!??

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | September 21, 2025 at 8:17 am

That’s right. If you think there’s a difference, tell me what it is. A death wish is a death wish. And what have courts got to do with it? Courts have nothing to say about such matters.

Won’t matter. His son will carry on the effort to destroy America. We will see if Alexander Soros is more capable than his kapo father.

Circulate his address on DU as the home of an old one-percenter Nazi.

It will all be wasted in corruption. Nothing will get where it’s intended.

The Oligarchy Tour marches ahead. Calling Sanders and AOC to swoop in on their private jet. FRAUDS!

Someone like Ellison should swamp Soros and the California Democrats to teach them a lesson and force them to spend like drunken sailor Harris, and for Sanders and AOC to screech.

It is past ironic to be labeled a n@zi by people that are being paid by a man who literally and personally aided and abetted the actual NSDAP.

Will no one rid us of this meddlesome billionaire?

Don’t forget about his son who shares his views and was stupid enough to wed Weiner’s leftovers.

What end point does he see…. is he thinking he is buying his way to Heavan? Investing in the destruction of West Civ which would end up under Islamic thumb seems a strange vision. Or is the world a bobble to play with?

Do you remember the excuse for the European Union? That instead of everybody being an insular nation, Europeans would be able to move all over Europe with minimal restrictions and no passports? This is Soros’ hobby horse, except he wants to see nations destroyed on a global basis.

Milhouse in reply to alaskabob. | September 20, 2025 at 10:44 am

He doesn’t believe in Heaven, but he believes he is shoring up Western civilization, not destroying it. His life experience has shown him what evils and destruction can result from nationalism, so he’s decided that nationalism is a destructive force and all of humanity would be better off without it.

    “Imagine there’s no countries
    It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
    Imagine all the people
    Living life in peace”

That’s what he believes in. It’s a lovely belief; what a pity that it’s wrong, and results in the exact opposite of the intent.

We’ve already seen that the absence of religion causes destruction at least 100 times greater than that caused by religion. And in our current world the same would be true of the absence of countries. A single global government is an ideal for the future, but humanity isn’t ready for it, and won’t be in the foreseeable future.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | September 20, 2025 at 11:50 am

Gee. Why doesn’t he do China, NK, Russia, the Muslim countries, Venezuela, Cuba, etc…. They are all nationalistic. Oh I know. They’re hard. Western civilizations are open (or were in some cases) so they’re easy to subvert. He’s just an asshole.

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | September 20, 2025 at 11:58 am

He does oppose them. But what can he do about them? He has no armies. He funds education efforts against them. He funded education efforts aiding Eastern European countries’ recovery from communism.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | September 21, 2025 at 12:36 pm

He can fund opposition parties in some of those countries. Does he?

The point is he is taking as much advantage of our system to create chaos as Muslims and Antifa and other radical ethnic groups in our country.

“A single global government is an ideal for the future, but humanity isn’t ready for it, and won’t be in the foreseeable future.”

“Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we
should soon want bread.” –Thomas Jefferson: Autobiography, 1821.

      Now do Brussels.

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | September 21, 2025 at 8:22 am

No government, not even the most local, can direct people when to sow and when to reap. That’s just not government’s business. But government is necessary, and ideally it should be global. One day humanity may be ready for that, but I doubt any of us will be alive to see it. Trying to implement it now would be disastrous.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | September 21, 2025 at 12:39 pm

No government should not be global. The bigger government is and the larger the scope the less accountable they become. The best government is local government. Larger government is only required for certain tasks such as defense and relations between states or countries,

I’ll bet he overvalued a property or two along the way. Maybe drop a hint to AG James in NY. Oh…that’s right, he paid for her seat. Insert eye roll here.

CA is lost cause. $10M won’t buy much TV ad time in CA market nowadays. It won’t move the needle much either way. CA is controlled by socialist groomers.

But that is $10M that could have been used to alleviate suffering for all mankind, american cancer society, red cross disaster relief, etc.

California is already damaged beyond repair. It is good when Soros squander s his money here. It means the rest of the country is safer.

Newsom has openly pitched the ballot measure as a counter to GOP redistricting in states like Texas:

And that’s fair enough. What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. If Californians support this, then they have every right to do it, just as the Texans had the right to do it there. The only question is whether they do support it, and that remains to be seen. The polls so far show they oppose it, but Democrats, including Newsom and Soros, have every right to try to persuade them to change their minds.

But if they do then Texas should go back to the drawing board and see whether they can take another three or four seats from the Democrats.

No, it doesn’t. It’s impossible to gerrymander a statewide referendum. Either a majority of Californian voters support it or they oppose it. If they support it then it has their consent; if they don’t then it doesn’t. There’s no trickery and no gerrymandering involved.

The scheme mirrors Soros’s broader playbook: flood states with dark money to tilt the playing field and weaken political opponents.

If we know it’s from Soros then by definition it’s not dark.

The ballot fight in November is not just about California’s maps; it’s about whether one billionaire can re-engineer the political balance of Congress with his checkbook.

That’s ridiculous. Only the majority of Californian voters can do that. All one person can do is try to persuade them of his opinion, which is his absolute constitutional right to do. It is unAmerican to criticize him for it. Criticize his opinions all you like; they deserve it. They’re opinions that are against America’s interests and they should be opposed with everything we have. But he believes they’re correct, and his right to hold them and to try to persuade people of them is sacrosanct. If he has no right to propagate his views then neither do we.

Whoops, let’s try that again. Edit button, please !!!

the fact that he ( and others) give directly to politicians vs always giving directly to your causes ( the homeless the starving etc) tells what a person is really all about

may god have mercy on his soul

Huh? That makes no sense at all.

Soros donates to causes. In this case to the cause of increasing the Dem representation from California. There’s going to be a referendum and Dems have an uphill battle trying to persuade people to vote for it. So he’s donated to that cause. It’s a legitimate cause and if the people can be persuaded to support it they have every right to, just as the people of Texas and their representatives had the right to do the opposite.

When are we going to see RICO charges on this detritus.
