Charlie Kirk Assassination: European Media Blame ‘Trump’s Policies’ and ‘Gun Violence’
UK’s Guardian: “Kirk expressed openly bigoted views and was an unabashed homophobe and Islamophobe.”
Even the tragic and abhorrent murder of Charlie Kirk didn’t stop some leading European media outlets from spewing their ideological contempt for President Donald Trump and those of the American right. They framed Kirk, a deeply committed Christian conservative, as an extremist and a bigot.
UK-based newspaper The Guardian described Kirk as someone “promoting misinformation and conspiracy theories.”
“Kirk expressed openly bigoted views and was an unabashed homophobe and Islamophobe,” the left-wing daily continued.
Another Guardian columnist, Margaret Sullivan, took this opportunity to blame the ‘right.’ According to her, it is “tragic is how partisan, violent and ugly much of the immediate reaction was, mostly on the right.”
Sullivan tried to muddy the waters by pinning the blame on ‘gun violence.’ She claimed that the “gun violence truly is an epidemic in America.”
“America” waw “deeply entrenched in tribal politics,” … “egged on by a president who glories in violent rhetoric,” she complained.
London-based Financial Times took the opportunity to highlight conservative intolerance. “Kirk’s death triggered calls for retribution, with conservatives calling on the Trump administration to crack down on the left,” the business daily wrote.
Another British daily, The Independent, focused on Kirk’s “controversial” stance on “LGTQ+” issues. As a debater, he “lashed out at the gay community, denouncing what he called the “LGBTQ agenda.”
“He also argued against gender-affirming care for transgender people and insisted there are only two genders,” the newspaper noted.
“As an anti-abortion Christian, he routinely debated progressive liberals, Muslims, and the LGBT+ community, resulting in allegations of misogyny, Islamophobia, and homophobia,” The Independent added..
Germany’s state-owned DW TV described Kirk as a “conservative pundit” who “stirred controversy in Europe.”
Leading German weekly Der Spiegel also sought to blame ‘President Trump and his policies’ for the assassination. “The political climate in the U.S. has been heating up for years, and Trump and his policies are heightening this polarization and the divisions between the political camps,” the magazine wrote.
The French newspaper Le Monde was respectful in eulogizing Kirk, describing him as a “[r]ight-wing youth activist and influencer” and “a major ally of President Donald Trump.”
According to Qatar state-run Al Jazeera, “Kirk has …. been accused of holding racist, Islamophobic and misogynistic positions.”
Hungary’s Orban: Time to “stop the hate-mongering left”
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban was among the first European leaders to condemn the murder in the clearest terms, the DW TV reported.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claimed that Kirk’s death was “the result of the international hate campaign waged by the progressive-liberal left.”
“This is what led to the attacks on [Slovak Prime Minister] Robert Fico, on [Czech former premier] Andrej Babis, and now on Charlie Kirk,” Orban said.
“We must stop the hatred! We must stop the hate-mongering left!”
Writing on X, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her “condolences to [Kirk’s] family, his loved ones, and the American conservative community.”
“A heinous murder, a profound wound for democracy and for those who believe in freedom,” she added.

Germany’s opposition politician and leader of the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), Alice Weidel, remembered Kirk as a “fighter for freedom of speech.”
“For that, he was now shot by a fanatic who hates our way of life and discussion. My thoughts are with his family, to whom I express my sincere condolences. It is so terrible,” she said.

Two basic issues
1. I’ve never heard Charlie Kirk speak except brief clips. He may be very Trumpian, but he’s clearly not an extremist. Right wing, very likely. I don’t know.
So if you say his assassination is because of things like “misinformation” or even “hate speech” the argument would appear to be if you are shot doing such it is acceptable based on the left’s definitions of such.
Which is a fairly short step from allowing political assassination.
2. Gun Issues. Where I live, there are almost no guns. Our police don’t carry them. The public don’t have them (except shotguns for farmers, which are very carefully licenced). However, the ‘bad guys’ still have access to them. This murder was not some sort of fight that got out of control ; it’s close to a professional hit. I doubt anyone that dedicated would have problems finding a rifle.
WWI and WWII both were started in Europe. They are now so far left that if it hadn’t been for US protection and help would have been in another war among themselves. They are like the left in this country and Canada and reality has no meaning for them. Their stupid ideology is all that matters no matter how it is dooming their country. Now we see how evil many of them are by their comments on Ck’s death. They truly have become the face of evil!
And who did our Eurotrash “friends” blame the Muslim invasion, riots and rape mobs on?
Was it guns? Nope, they don’t have any. Was it PRESIDENT Trump? Nope. They don’t listen, just smirk.

The leftists will not like what they wished for. Think of the hundreds of millions of people that will now go to see what Kirk has said in his many podcasts, things they probably ignored before. Think of the renewal in interest in his conservative values.
The radical leftist scum that did this and now take glee in it may have just ensured the continuation of Republican control of Congress and renewed vigor in PRESIDENT Trump’s agenda.
