Toronto Film Festival Changes Mind, Will Show October 7 Documentary
TIFF worried about anti-Israel protesters and…Hamas copyright claims.
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) changed its mind and will screen a documentary about the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7.

From The New York Post:
TIFF’s turnaround comes only as the festival faced outrage over reports that “The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue” wouldn’t be screened, because the filmmakers used footage filmed by Hamas but didn’t obtain the rights for the clips.
Festival CEO Cameron Bailey defended the earlier decision to bump the documentary from its September lineup, denying accusations that “censorship” played a role.
“I want to be clear: Claims that the film was rejected due to censorship are unequivocally false. I remain committed to working with the filmmaker to meet TIFF’s screening requirements to allow the film to be screened at this year’s festival,” Bailey wrote on social media.
“I have asked our legal team to work with the filmmaker on considering all options available,” he added.
But the documentary’s filmmakers said the film has not been reinstated at the festival.
“As it stands, TIFF has not communicated to us in writing that it has reversed its decision. This continues to be a negotiation.”
Leslie wrote about TIFF banning the documentary because the Hamas footage came from the terrorists live stream of the attack.

What a joke.
Documentary producer Talia Harris said the live streamed footage puts it in the public domain.

Ron Coleman remains on standby.
Orwell would define this as a profile in courage. Will the Hamas supporters now protest the event, like those in DC supporting crime? TIFF’s cowardice is seen in both decisions. Anyone arrested at an anti-Israel protest should be forced to watch what happened in their cell.
In a related note, touching on Hamas, it’s excellent that”
“Hostage families sue ICC prosecutor, allege court has become ‘branch of Hamas’.”
Khan is accused of turning the court into “a branch office of the terrorist organization” for ulterior motives – to sideline alleged sexual abuse allegations against him. He also “provided services to terrorist organizations and assisted them,” reads the lawsuit.
He did not give a second look at Hamas and its leaders.

Way to go Shurat HaDin and Nitsana Darshan-Leitner!
The lawsuit is in an Israeli court, under Israeli law. I doubt Khan has any assets there, or plans to travel there, so his only worry would be that the plaintiffs might try to enforce the judgment in countries where he does have assets. That would probably work in the USA, but probably not anywhere else, where courts are likely to be biased against Israel and refuse to enforce Israeli judgments in political cases.
Clueless.
Yes, you are.
No. It’s the author that knows. If you think that this action is about enforcing a judgment, you truly are clueless.
You ignored the comment to go off on a tangent, knowing better, correcting the writer. Only to be told you are wrong. Who are you to tell somewhat they they should say. CLUELESS!
A tangent?! The purpose of a lawsuit is to recover damages. That’s what lawsuits are for.
What Nitzana does, most of the time, is more like court theater, using the courts for publicity and fundraising. That has its place, but a default judgment from an Israeli court won’t prove anything to anyone who isn’t already convinced of the justice of Israel’s cause anyway. Anyone who is anti-Israel will automatically dismiss such a judgment, just as we would dismiss a “judgment” from a PLO “court”.
And if Khan doesn’t bother defending the suit then she won’t even get to present any evidence. So what is the point, apart from fundraising? Which is important, and if I had money I’d give her some, but ultimately this is just theater.
They wanted to make sure they brought ATTENTION to the film being shown
then when lefty attacks they film organizers can do what lefty does when they dont like the agenda….blame the victims and declare the blmplo armies the “real” victims
If nothing else see what Leftists think who disbelieve the Israelis and think they made it all up.
