Friday was a hugely important, incredibly significant, and symbolic day for the United States as President Donald Trump sought to negotiate a blueprint for peace between Russia and Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The images and videos we saw of the momentous occasion, from Trump looking confident and in command as he greeted Putin on the tarmac at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska to the epic U.S. military flyover as the two world leaders walked side by side on the red carpet, were a sight to behold.
Regardless of one’s political affiliation, the day and the immense effort put into it should have made every American proud, considering that if Trump had been successful, there presumably would have been an end to the hostilities sooner rather than later and in a way that benefited all parties involved.
Instead of being able to appreciate the moment for what it was, the Very Online Left, led by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and his deranged social media team, instead chose to act stupidly and put their TDS on full display. This was perhaps most notable in how they made an image of what appears to be members of the U.S. military putting the finishing touches on laying out the red carpet for Putin go viral for all the wrong reasons:
Beyond the fact that this was a smear of the U.S. military, which has no doubt done the same thing on other occasions when other foreign leaders have visited, it should be noted that most of the shares I saw of this image on social media were from leftist and NeverTrump accounts, as well as Russian and Ukrainian accounts.
The Ukrainian ones might be understandable when one takes into account how desperate they are for peace.
But outside the fact that strong leadership and effective strategic diplomacy are alien concepts to most Democrats, there is no excuse for Newsom and other rabid leftists essentially morphing into Russian propagandists, twisting actions undertaken in good faith by the United States military into something ugly and grossly distorted, and on a day when so much was at stake.
Further, as far as the “best friend Vlad” jab, let’s also note for the record that when it comes to allegedly coddling communist world leaders, well – let’s just say Newsom puts everyone else to shame on that front:

Relatedly, let it be reiterated that Gavin Newsom has far more in common with communist dictators than Trump ever will (flashback):
In fact, the only folks in China that Newsom has ever stood up to were unsuspecting Chinese children and their horrified parents:
Don’t go away mad, Gavin Newsom. Just go away. Oh, and keep the good name of the U.S. military out of your mouth.
