New York Post: Biden Admin’s Response to Hurricane Helene was Hateful and Partisan

A reflection on Hurricane Helene’s impacts almost one year later.

The New York Post published an exclusive piece, based on newly unearthed White House documents viewed exclusively by the paper.

The findings indicate that the Biden administration disgracefully misused its authority by repurposing the federal government’s resources to support a massive Democratic voter mobilization effort.

And one of the organizations whose mission is to care for the welfare of all Americans in times of need, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), was among the worst offenders under this hateful and partisan administration.

When responding to an emergency or a natural disaster, FEMA employees were directed to make voter registration a “key priority.”

They politically targeted vulnerable people in their hour of need instead of focusing on providing federal assistance.

Left-wing NGOs were brought in to “educate” FEMA staff about “equity and voter access for individuals affected by disaster,” says a Trump administration official.

“FEMA’s job is to make sure Americans who have suffered catastrophic loss due to some disaster in their community [can access] food, water and shelter … Under President Biden, FEMA, like every agency, produced a plan on how they would leverage these crisis situations for political [purposes]. I can’t think of anything more disgusting.”

FEMA employees were so fixated on voter outreach that, when they visited hurricane-ravaged Florida last October, they didn’t even bother knocking on the doors of houses that had Trump signs in the yard.
When responding to an emergency or a natural disaster, FEMA employees were directed to make voter registration a “key priority.”

These documents completely align with the reports Legal Insurrection prepared related to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

As a reminder, Hurricane Helene roared into the Southeastern U.S. in the fall of 2024. The total death toll is currently estimated to be around 250, mainly attributed to flooding and wind-related incidents across six states (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia). North Carolina was particularly hard hit. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and several climate disaster databases estimated Helene’s total cost at about $78.7–$79.6 billion.

An investigation into the administration’s response revealed that FEMA supervisors directed staff to skip houses supporting Donald Trump for President, as the recovery operations were occurring at the height of election season.

…[T]the administration wants to say this was an isolated incident, but there are alleged text messages from Washington, DC to the supervisor advising them and directing them to do this. So somebody higher up within FEMA was advising the people on the ground to do this. So if it was happening in Lake Placid, I can guarantee you it was happening in other places, all across the great state of Florida and the country. And the Oversight Committee needs to get to the bottom of this. The very first stop would be the person who was fired. Put them under oath and ask them who in their chain of command was directing her to do this. There’d be some interesting testimony.

As the ineptitude continued, I shared an analysis that the Helene response was “orders of magnitude” worse than Katrina.

The folks trapped in the hollows of North Carolina’s mountains need helicopter support most of all, to receive essential food, water, and construction and medical supplies, and to evacuate the stranded, the elderly, the sick, and the injured. If you review the links I included above, you’ll see that hundreds of active-duty helicopters were involved in Katrina. As for Helene, if you look at the DOD’s press releases, it looks like 28 active-duty helicopters are thinking about maybe getting involved as of Sept. 30.

Late September will mark the one-year anniversary of this natural disaster. North Carolina is still recovering from its impact. Farms, for example, are hoping for reimbursement payments so the acreage can be made productive again.

Multiple Hurricane Helene aid programs in North Carolina are clearing key bureaucratic hurdles, state officials said Friday, as thousands in the mountains await help for their homes and farms nearly one year after the storm.

A new state fund created to reimburse farmers for lost crops has received more than 7,000 applications. And Renew NC, the state’s home building and repair program, is one step closer to funding after a key agreement with federal officials this week.

State lawmakers created the crop reimbursement program as part of a March aid bill. It sets out $300 million to pay farmers for crops that were washed away or destroyed last year. Two-thirds of that money is for Helene-impacted farms, and the rest is for other storms in 2024.

And volunteers completed construction of a new home for one North Carolina family that lost everything in the hurricane.

The Cicillian family, from Leicester, watched as their home was destroyed by the flood. God’s Pit Crew, a disaster response non-profit, got to work.

Volunteers build a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with new furniture and appliances.

The family got the keys to the next chapter of their lives on Friday, Aug. 8.

“We are beyond grateful to the volunteers, donors, and supporters who have made this new home possible for the Cicillian family,” said Randy Johnson, God’s Pit Crew President. “It’s a privilege to be part of their journey, and we hope this new home will help them heal after the heartbreaking loss they endured.”

It’s good to see the region is on the mend.

But the New York Post exclusive confirms, once again, that partisan hackery and ineptitude were the hallmarks of the Biden administration in all its emergency response operations.

Such scum.

You don’t say

As a Christian I am not supposed to hate people. But I am supposed to hate Evil. It seems that the Democrats have embodied Evil. I therefore hate Democrats until they repent of their Evil.

What they have been doing for decades sickens me. They kept it fairly well hidden until the “Light Bringer” (Lucifer) became POTUS. BHO was when it went from gradually to all of a sudden. The Autopen Administration took it to full-blown. I think God had a hand in the cheating of the 2020 Election as as bad as it has been We The People needed to see what the Democrats are truly about. The course correction is going to be slow and painful.

The Dhimmi-crats are servants of Satan, by any objective measure — supporting and justifying infanticide; promoting and rationalizing the abuse of and predations upon, children and girls/women, under the wicked “trans” ideology; enabling and supporting criminals; enabling, lionizing and whitewashing genocidal Islamofascism/Muslim supremacism and violence against Jews, Christians and Hindus; fomenting racial, ethnic and economic strife and divisions, at every opportunity; etc., etc.

    Can we stop badmouthing Satan?

Satan is doing the work set upon him by God. He is tempting the weak. And they always have a choice, a chance to seek divine guidance.

The left doesn’t allow that. You get no choice. Worse, they seek to make it impossible to even simply not partake of their depravity by sitting it out– you must celebrate it.

Whatever they’re planning is worse than Hell.

Disgusting and evil.

Sadly, at this point in time, none of these revelations regarding the vile Dhimmi-crats’ callousness, lawlessness, fanaticism, incompetence, maliciousness and betrayal of the public trust, are surprising.

It’s what we’ve come to expect as default behavior, from these wretched reprobates.

Sadly, at this point in time, none of these revelations . . . are surprising.

Nor will it be at all surprising when nothing, I repeat, nothing ever comes of these revelations. democrats are never held accountable for their acts and actions no matter how evil, vile, or illegal they may be.

This is true historically, for sure. That said, I give #47 and his team credit for attempting to impose accountability wherever possible.

And, I also think that exposing these instances of Dhimmi-crat malfeasance, corruption, dereliction of duty, etc., are important, even if no criminal penalties or prosecutions ensue. It’s important for people to be aware of just how wicked and evil the Dhimmi-crats are. So much of their deeds have laid buried and are only being exposed.

Expect a significant number of voters to be guided accordingly, going forward.

While Rs are in charge, they ought to extend the statutes of limitation on various crimes. Too often Dems skate because by the time an administration is in charge that might actually indict and try them, it’s too late.

Extend the limits to 15 or 20 years for all crimes committed by persons holding any position of trust or employment in the federal government. (This would not be an ex post facto law. The criminals had the benefit of the statutory notice that their acts were crimes at the time they were committed. The ban on ex post facto laws was to prevent the criminalization of past acts for which the perpetrators didn’t have notice that their acts were crimes. Simply extending the limit on the time available to prosecute them doesn’t change the fact that they had notice their acts were crimes at the time they were committed.)

Not doing anything is okay but FEMA was actively preventing anybody from doing anything.

The saying was about Katrina, that in New Orleans you instantly had a million victims while in Mississippi you instantly had a million helpers.

    THIS.

This is what should be the focus. The Biden junta’s FEMA actively PREVENTED help from reaching people in need.

The Gentle Grizzly | August 9, 2025 at 2:53 pm

FEMA. How did we EVER recover from disaster without them?

Exactly how the folks in east TN and western NC did it: volunteerism on an unprecedented scale. They did fine except when local “authorities” and guvmint badges and guns confiscated generators and supplies to that THEY could distribute them to their favored people.

Frankly, this is how disaster recovery should be done — person to person, and as locally as possible. The outrage is that we had to do that, PLUS pay taxes for other people to do it — who didn’t do it, It’s like the bad old days before “empowerment scholarship accounts” (in many states) when parents who wanted to send their kids to a GOOD school had to pay for both the good school and the deficient school.

“this hateful and partisan administration”
Biden people were what the Dem party has become.
