Hamas’ Chief Propagandist Abu Obeida Eliminated in Israeli Strike
“Abu Obeida can no longer spread his lies, propaganda and terror.”
The Israeli military eliminated Hamas’ chief propagandist Abu Obeida, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced Sunday. Obeida, who appeared in propaganda videos as the masked spokesman for Hamas’s ‘military’ wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, was killed in an Israeli strike in northern Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also confirmed Obeida’s elimination. The IDF, in a statement on Sunday, described him as “the public face” of Hamas. “Obaidah was one of the last remaining senior terrorists of Hamas’ Military Wing from before October 7th, 2023,” the IDF observed.
The slain terrorist “disseminated Hamas’ propaganda to promote terrorist activity, seeking to influence the Gazan public and Hamas supporters across the Middle East and the world,” the IDF said.

Writing on X in Hebrew, Defense Minister Israel Katz congratulated the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency. Obeida had been “sent to meet all the terrorists of the axis of evil from Iran, Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen at the bottom of hell,” he declared.

The Israeli military on Saturday evening confirmed carrying out a strike targeting the senior Hamas terrorist. “The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed an airstrike in Gaza City targeting a senior Hamas operative, identified by Hebrew media as Abu Obeida, the longtime masked spokesman of the Al-Qassam Brigades,” Tel Aviv-based ILTV reported on Sunday. “Israeli officials said they are cautiously optimistic the strike eliminated the high-profile terrorist.”

The Times of Israel reported official Israeli confirmation :
Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida was killed in Saturday’s strike, Defense Minister Israel Katz announces.
Anonymous Israeli officials had expressed optimism that the strike was successful, but Katz is the first official to confirm that Abu Obeida was killed.
Writing on X, Katz says that the longtime spokesman “was sent to meet all the eliminated members of the axis of evil from Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen at the bottom of hell.”
“Soon, as the campaign over Gaza intensifies,” Katz continues, “he will meet many more of his partners in crime there — Hamas murderers and rapists.”
Earlier today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had confirmed that Abu Obeidah was targeted by Israel but said that the outcome of the strike was not yet clear.

Arab media outlets also verified Obeida’s elimination. “A Palestinian source told Al-Arabiya that Abu Obeida was killed in the strike on a residential apartment in Gaza City’s Rimal neighborhood, along with others present,” the ILTV reported. “Israeli security officials called the outcome ‘promising,’ though official confirmation of his death is still pending
