Gabbard Located Burn Bags Containing Documents About 2020 Election

“We are finding documents literally tucked away in the back of safes in random offices…in other areas which again speaks to the intent of those who are trying to hide the truth from the American people.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard confirmed to President Donald Trump that she located burn bags filled with documents about the 2020 election.

From the exchange:

TRUMP: And you’ve also found many bags of information. I think they call them burn bags. They’re supposed to be burned and they didn’t get burned, having to do with how corrupt the 2020 election was, and when will that all come out?

GABBARD: Mr. President, I will be the first to brief you once we have that information collected. But you’re right. It’s, it’s, we are finding documents literally tucked away in the back of safes and random offices, in these bags, and in other areas, which again, speaks to the intent of those who are trying to hide the truth from the American people and trying to cover up the politicization that was led by people like John Brennan and James Clapper and others that have caused really immeasurable harm to the American people and to our country.

How many more burn bags will Trump’s administration find in their respective departments?

In July, Fox News reported that FBI Director Kash Patel discovered burn bags full of documents related to the Trump-Russia probe.

The documents destined to burn are labeled classified or higher.

The sources told Fox News that some of the contents included “that the U.S. intelligence community had credible foreign sources indicating that the FBI would play a role in spreading the alleged Trump–Russia collusion narrative” before anyone launched the probe.

We should buy Trump a Saint Lawrence medal, and tell him he owes mucho novenas.

“Because Saint Lawrence is believed to have been burned on a gridiron, he has become known as the patron saint of cooks and tanners. Because he cared for and hid important documents of the Church before dying, he is the patron saint of archivists and librarians.”

It’s been a while since I worked at a job with classified docs, but as I recall there’s little or no tracking or record of what gets put IN burn bags.

Typically we’d use them to dispose of in-progress work product we no longer needed but still contained probable classified data.

However the other main use is to dispose of duplicate or out-dated classified data that you supposedly no longer need to keep a copy of.
AND that you weren’t required by law to keep.

I suspect the reason the contents being found never got actually burned is because they were NEVER supposed to be burned – and there WAS tracking and signatures required to actually burn them.

And I suspect the reason they got removed from govt filing cabinets and thrown in burn bags that weren’t going to be burned is because members of the admin had something to hide – and lacked authority to plausibly permanently destroy the evidence. In which case there’s likely more evidence that did manage to get “disappeared” we’ll never know about for certain.

Maybe those who thew documents into burn bags knew about the bags but not about the process of how they were handled.

        Think38 in reply to ztakddot. | August 26, 2025 at 5:59 pm

Suspect, but don’t know, that the members of the staff were told to dispose of certain documents that would be uncomfortable for the administration to have be disclosed. The staff then proceeded to process said documents into burn bags and could plausibly claim “well, we burned them”, but then never actually had the bags burned, saving them for future use at a time and manner of the staff’s choosing. And of course, if they became inconvenient, the staff could actually burn them.

The burn bag itself would not have an inventory of it’s contents, but the originator’s Classified Documents Inventory would have a notation: “Placed in burn bag #1234 on 1/1/01”. The burn bags would be classified at the level of the highest classification contained, and would be subject to the usual classified documents controls – two-man rule, receipts, etc. When the bag is actually burned, there would be a notation in the Classified Disposal Log: “Bag #1234 burned on 2/2/01.(signed) First man (signed) Second man”

I believe your are correct. When I burned Top Secret documents in the Military the contents of the bag being burned were not known, only what classification the documents in the bag were. If one was Top Secret, everything was considered that classification. I think that when Trump won there was such a frenzy to get rid of the evidence that had piled up since Obama because the deep state knew the second time around Trump knew exactly what had gone on and was going scorched Earth that documents were just stuffed into bags as they should have been but there were so many and it was done so fast some of the bags were overlooked. We will never know what evidence actually got to the incinerator. Some very interesting stuff no doubt. I’d like to know, for example, just what Samantha Powers and her crew of merry misfits were actually doing in Ukraine.

There are two motivations I can see for putting original documents (which are supposed to be archived) in burn bags, then hiding them and not revealing them to the Trump Administration’s officials:

      (1) The person responsible for saving the documents from destruction defied orders from the Biden Administration to destroy them. Having them in a burn bag provides plausible deniability if the Hilary Clintonesque boss gets upset that the records were preserved rather than destroyed (“Honest, boss, they were put in the bag to be destroyed; I guess the bag got misplaced and not given to the burn detail…we’ll be sure to include it in the next run”). They can then turn them over to the new leadership to reveal the awful lawlessness of the Biden group.

      (2) The person responsible for preserving the documents put them in burn bags to conceal them from the current Trump administration in an attempt to show the next Democratic Party administration (a) that they are and always were “on-side” and kept all the useful “how-to” information for use by the new Dem administration, and (b) that they were willing to hide incriminating information from the Trump administration and should be thought of as brave members of the “Democrat Resistance” movement deserving praise, bonus pay, and/or promotion now that “the good guys” are back in charge.

The high tech companies I worked for all had to-be-shredded bins. We all religiously threw stuff into bins. Just as religiously the janitorial staff would take the contents of these bins and merge them with the normal trash before throwing it all out.

My theory, based on my personal corporate experiences is:

Insurance. It is always worth a little risk to keep some dirt on your boss, if you have some. It’s comforting to have around when they’re looking for somebody to push off the troika.

sheepgirl in reply to ztakddot. | August 26, 2025 at 8:48 pm

Perhaps it indicates there were FBI agents that wanted to preserve evidence of the perfidy of the higher ups?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to sheepgirl. | August 27, 2025 at 4:05 am

Yep. I think this is very likely. An agent who was given instructions to burn the stuff but didn’t want to and didn’t want to ruin his life by trying to be a whistleblower (which was a huge risk). Hiding them like this would be the next best thing to do.

I would think that it’s not difficult to find out which people had access to which safes. Break out the polygraph!

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to ztakddot. | August 27, 2025 at 4:00 am

They probably burned and shredded everything they could but either they didn’t have the time to get to these or they had them hidden so well that they forgot they were there.

Sultan in reply to ztakddot. | August 27, 2025 at 8:47 am

Just shows they were incompetent in all areas of life.

Maybe someone in the FBI didn’t want the evidence destroyed and left them behind to be found if Trump won. Did the new head of the FBI get an anonymous tip to look for unburned burn bags?

Well…
More sloppy work.
If one is going to be horsing around like that, they have to pay attention to the details.
But, somehow, I am not surprised. They aren’t the brightest.

It seems to me that if people stashed incriminating evidence in burn bags and then hid them. it was to prevent them from being destroyed.

Does it matter so long as they are uncovered and the contents, especially the illegal stuff, is exposed?

Someone wanted those bags found.
There are no coincidences.

    diver64 in reply to DaveGinOly. | August 27, 2025 at 5:10 am

Possibly. I doubt everyone at the FBI or CIA were happy with the direction and actions of the Biden Crew. Some were probably ordered to get rid of some evidence, stuffed it into a bag then left it in an unused office, safe or closet and when asked, said “yes, all taken care of”

literally tucked away in the back of safes

sounds like their personal “get out of jail card” to me AKA leverage

This is all well and good, but get back to me when there are indictments.

Lol, how gullible do you have to be to believe this nonsense? 😆
They haven’t found anything because there’s nothing to find, but boy do they want to suck up to Trump.

The Epstein files must really be something.

How does losing feel Leftist? Border closed, Dem’s illegals deported, crime being fought, energy unleashed, DEI dismantling, Leftist gov waste cut, military cleansing and Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Schiff, & Latisha James lawyering up! Only been 200 days.

Epstein files. Willy C, Bob Menendez, DNC Chair Richardson, just for starters.

I’d love to see the Epstein files. All of them.
Why won’t Trump release them? They’re sitting on Blondi’s desk after all.

While I have no doubt the swamp perpetrated the Russia hoax, I was in the intel community 20 years ago. Even then we printed as little as possible, documents were cross shredded to micro confetti THEN burned. You did not put whole classified documents into a burn bag. What to make of it? Could not destroy quick enough by the change of command? (They are government workers), or perhaps even purposely left by HONEST employees to be found. A guess only but I’s LIKE to think the latter.
