The College Fix reports:
Florida State U. student who allegedly shoved Jewish peer may face criminal chargesA Florida State University student – reportedly the daughter of a social work professor – potentially could face criminal charges after allegedly shoving a Jewish student at a campus gym.The incident was caught on video, and both The Jerusalem Post and the group Stop Antisemitism identified the student as Eden Deckerhoff, the daughter of Professor Rosalyn Deckerhoff, who teaches in the university’s College of Social Work.Neither the student nor the professor immediately responded to requests for comment from The College Fix via email and social media, asking about the incident and their reported relationship. The public university banned the graduate student from campus after Stop Antisemitism posted a video of the incident Thursday on X. It shows a female student, allegedly Eden Deckerhoff, shoving a Jewish student and saying, “F— Israel, free Palestine,” according to the Post. The university issued a statement Thursday evening that the student in the video is banned from campus while authorities conduct an investigation. The statement did not name the student.“Florida State University is actively addressing an altercation between two students that has been widely shared on social media,” the university stated. “The FSU Police Department has interviewed the students shown in the video. The matter is being reviewed for potential criminal charges and for charges under the FSU Student Code of Conduct.”The university also is providing support services to the victim, according to the statement.“Our commitment to swiftly and effectively responding to incidents of hate is unwavering. We appreciate the prompt report of this incident, which allowed us to address this instance of antisemitism without delay,” it stated.
