Dem Rep Who Called Herself ‘Guatemalan First’ Slams ICE as ‘Terrorist Organization’

“Well Tom Homan, let me tell you. … We will continue to call out the terrorist organization that is ICE.”

Democratic Rep. Delia Ramirez of Illinois hit the birth lottery. Born in Chicago to illegal immigrant parents, the progressive congresswoman stands as a testament to the American Dream.

Yet instead of showing gratitude to the nation that gave an anchor baby the chance to rise to Congress, she seizes every opportunity to disparage America and condemn its laws.

Speaking in Spanish at the second annual Panamerican Congress in Mexico City earlier this month, Ramirez declared, “I’m a proud Guatemalan before I’m an American” — a stunning remark that drew wild applause from the progressive crowd. She went on to accuse the U.S. of prioritizing “imperialism, militarization, conquest, control, competition in its attempt at domination.”

A proud member of the “Squad,” Ramirez was joined at the conference by several of her Democratic colleagues, including Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Summer Lee of Pennsylvania, and Jesús Gilberto García of Illinois.

One week later, Ramirez spoke at the 20th annual Netroots Network conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. This event is touted as the largest annual gathering of the progressive movement, where she labeled the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency a “terrorist organization.”

She said, “Well Tom Homan, let me tell you, all over the country we will to continue to stand up for our rights. We will continue to call out the terrorist organization that is ICE.”

Rather startling remarks from a sitting member of Congress, wouldn’t you say?

Soon after arriving in Washington, D.C., in January 2023, Ramirez recounted to CNN her mother’s harrowing journey from Guatemala to the U.S.

Pregnant with Delia and convinced that America would offer her unborn child the best opportunities in life, her mother was determined to reach U.S. soil before giving birth.

According to the story Ramirez grew up hearing, when her mom crossed the Rio Grande, strong currents nearly swept her away. She’d hidden her pregnancy from others on the journey, but in that moment she called out in desperation, “Help! Help! Save me! Save my daughter!” A man did, Ramirez says, but after that day, her mom never saw him again.

CNN reported that in interviews since her November 2022 election to Congress, Ramirez had been touting her “mixed-status family”: her husband is a DACA recipient.

He came to the United States when he was 14. And for years, like hundreds of thousands of other people, he’s relied on the Obama-era program known as DACA, short for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, which granted certain young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children work permits and protection from deportation.

We are left with a remarkable paradox: the congresswoman from Illinois openly proclaims she is a proud Guatemalan before she is an American, and though she swore an oath to uphold the laws of the United States, she feels entirely free to vilify a federal agency and disregard the nation’s laws.

It’s reasonable to ask — by what logic, or under what standard, is she permitted to remain in Congress?

In the tweet above, the Department of Homeland Security cites a quote from former President Theodore Roosevelt:

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. … Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance.

Ramirez does not deserve a seat in the U.S. Congress.

Megyn Kelly’s blunt response to Ramirez’s breathtaking remarks said it best: “Awesome. Go home.”

UPDATE: 8/13, 1:40 p.m.

In the clip below posted by DHS, Ramirez quite matter-of-factly tells an MSNBC panel that half her family members are undocumented. Not too smart to be insulting an agency she may need help from in the near future.

There is no bar so low that a progressive won’t attempt to lower it even more.

How many of these creatures would hold office if we cleaned up and secured our elections?

To quote Chubby Checker (“Let’s Limbo Some More” — 1963):

    “How low can you go?”

The Dhimmi-crat apparatchiks “of color” are manifestly the most shallow, lazy, dim-witted, self-serving, greasy, mendacious and subversive narcissist-ingrate-demagogues, imaginable.

They’re all the same. Dopes such as Obama, Occasional-Cortex, Harris and whatever Islamofascist/Muslim supremacist du jour has the spotlight — playing up their ethnic and/or religious affiliations or skin pigmentations; studiously avoiding working in the private sector, like the plague; obsequiously offering praise to every foreign entity on Earth, while simultaneously dumping all over the U.S.; etc., etc.

That sure sounds like another jab against her American citizenship….

Yes, Milhouse, that’s rhetorical.

same way blmplo is a terrororg towards western civility

ICE is a terrororg towards criminality

She should at minimum censured, but more appropriately expelled.

2smartforlibs | August 13, 2025 at 3:24 pm

Time to ship her and illegal( her claim) family back.

Disgusting!!! No class.

E Howard Hunt | August 13, 2025 at 3:29 pm

I agree. She is a Guatemalan. Deport her low IQ, peasant ass back to the jungle, where she will find real Cuban backed communist terrorists to contend with. Let’s see her lecture them.

The lack of gratitude by her and any number of immigrants for the last 20+ years is a slap in the face and more to all those Caucasians, of which she is one of that particular racial group, who fought and gave their lives to provide ingrates like her a place to be free. Sickening, selfish, Stupid!

At a minimun she should be expelled for violating her oath of office. I won’t hold my breath.

If I was DHS I’d purposely target her family members and especially her illegal husband. Take them into custody. What is she going to do. Cry more? Go ahead.

I DON”T CARE!!!

Her words are a direct insult to every citizen and every alien who is here legally.

If we had an opposition party with enough guts, and a member of congress whose district would still support him after the cries of racism and the awful press coverage, something substantial would happen.

As it stands now, the lack of intestinal fortitude is obvious.

When will we admit the Democrats are once more in rebellion?

Start the process to revoke her citizenship and try to deport her whether it succeeds or not. Make her defend her loyalties.

xleatherneck in reply to Dejectedhead. | August 13, 2025 at 5:05 pm

She was born here so her citizenship is not revocable.

She can however, be expelled from Congress, but that would take a two thirds vote, which, is never gonna happen.

    Neither is impeachment

She can be censured or reprimanded with a majority vote, but the spineless Republicans will never do it.

Milhouse in reply to Dejectedhead. | August 13, 2025 at 10:03 pm

There is no such process. She doesn’t have to defend anything. She’s in Congress by right of the fact that a majority of her voters chose her.

Where is the leader of the Congress?
Mike yes, he has done nothing ., will do nothing

Not Eve a strongly worded letter

Its unnerving how many
Communist we have in office and many are 1,2 nd generation immigrants.

We can’t let her stand

JackinSilverSpring | August 13, 2025 at 5:02 pm

DemoncRats love crimecand homelessness. So by DemoncRat standsrds, anyone trying to reduce either one is a terrorist.

Ungrateful and entitled. Another honest Democrat.

We did not tolerate your mother in our country in order to allow her daughter to turn it into the hellhole from which she originally fled.

It’s reasonable to ask — by what logic, or under what standard, is she permitted to remain in Congress?

She is not “permitted” to remain in Congress; it’s not a privilege, it’s her right. She is entitled to remain in Congress because she meets the constitutional criteria for eligibility, and the people of her district elected her. That is all she needs.

The House retains the extraordinary power, for use in extreme cases only, to expel her if two thirds of its members are convinced that she has committed an offense, since the last election, that gives them the moral right to override her constituents’ decision. If the constituents reelect her that shows they were wrong to expel her, and they shouldn’t do it again.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | August 14, 2025 at 1:16 pm

They can however remove her from all committees.

DHS can also target her family which she admits is half illegal.

ztakddot in reply to Milhouse. | August 14, 2025 at 1:19 pm

Her district is heavily gerrymandered. Someone with standing should sue to have it overturned and have it withdrawn. This weird gerrymandering, and it is very weird in this case, should just not be allowed.

Milhouse in reply to ztakddot. | August 14, 2025 at 10:28 pm

Sue on what grounds? There is no law against gerrymandering for any purpose other than racial. And with racial purposes it’s sometimes illegal and sometimes mandatory, and there’s no way to tell which is which.

George_Kaplan | August 13, 2025 at 11:07 pm

If half this Americanophobe’s family members are illegal, doesn’t that mean ICE should investigate and return them to their homeland? They’re associated with someone who clearly hates America and law enforcement.

Aw shucks, just wait til either the aliens or the SMOD arrives. Deception will not be handled by Michael Scott.

Congresswoman Ramirez (D-Guatemala) seems a tad dazed and confused. While declaring her allegiance is far more to her Guatemalan homeland than with the America she reps in Congress, she’s muy sore at ICE for rounding up her fellow “non-papered” country-folk to give them a free trip back to her Guatemalan promised land. And …?

This skank would be in Alligator Alcatraz waiting for the next flight out if I had a say.

remove from office. Jail. Repeat

Full disclosure: I was born in Chicago and I have been to Guatemala about a half dozen times on mission trips.

If I had to choose to live and stay in either Chicago or Guatemala the rest of my life, which do you think I would choose?

On the other hand, anyone in Congress who places another country first, should be expelled from Congress!

Milhouse in reply to CaptTee. | August 14, 2025 at 10:52 pm

Even if you could somehow persuade enough Democrats to vote for expelling her, she would just run for reelection and win, and then it is very doubtful whether she could be expelled again. The Supreme Court has taken official notice that Congress’s own view, for well over a century, has been that it cannot expel a member for an offense committed before the last election. The court carefully took no position on this, but merely noted that it is Congress’s long-standing opinion, which it is unlikely to change.

(Note that the TX constitution explicitly provides that a member may not be expelled twice for the same offense, which reflects the same theory.)
