Report: Israel Derailed Iran’s EMP Weapons Program During the 12-Day War
The Washington Post: U.S.-Israeli joint strikes “turned back the clock on Iran’s nuclear program.”
Israel derailed Iran’s EMP weapons program during the recently concluded 12-day war, The Washington Post reported Saturday.
Besides an elaborate nuclear weapons program, the Iranian regime had been developing nuclear-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP) devices capable of striking the telecommunications, internet, and banking infrastructure of a country or a region. These EMP bombs can also disrupt power, water, and other public utilities.
“Israeli and American sources said the bombing campaign, in addition to destroying many of the Iranian centrifuges that enrich uranium, shattered most elements of Iran’s aggressive program to prepare to weaponize that uranium,” David Ignatius wrote in his article for the WP. “For example, Israeli sources believe the Iranians were studying an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon that could cripple Israel electronically, a more-complex nuclear fusion bomb, as well as a standard fission warhead.”
Washington Post's David Ignatius concedes — President Trump's attack on Iran effectively destroyed their nuclear weapons program AND the Israel's targeted killing of top program brass and scientists will likely deter ANYONE from attempting to rebuild it any time soon. pic.twitter.com/9CfI45Nw4w

The 12-day operation “turned back the clock on Iran’s nuclear program,” the article added. “Israeli and American assessments agree Tehran’s infrastructure to finish a bomb is shattered.”
The WP columnist Ignatius further reported:
Israeli and American sources said the bombing campaign, in addition to destroying many of the Iranian centrifuges that enrich uranium, shattered most elements of Iran’s aggressive program to prepare to weaponize that uranium.
The most devastating, and least reported, aspect of Israel’s campaign may have been its targeting of Iran’s leading nuclear scientists. Sources said strikes in the first hours of the war killed all of Iran’s first and second tier of physicists and other nuclear scientists, as well as most of the third tier. (…)
The United States struck the final blow, with Air Force B-2 bombers carrying bunker-busting bombs and Navy ships launching Tomahawk missiles. That strike capped Israel’s devastation of Iran’s program and gave President Donald Trump a share of the success — and also provided an important demonstration of U.S. military might. (…)
Beyond targeting the nuclear facilities and the scientists who worked there, Israeli attacks destroyed logistical foundations of the program, including its headquarters, archives, laboratories and testing equipment, the Israeli source said. This devastation may increase Iran’s desire to possess a nuclear deterrent, but it will be hard to reconstruct all these pieces.
The revelation comes after the mainstream media repeatedly questioned President Donald Trump’s assessment of the success of the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear weapons sites that took place nearly five weeks ago. President Trump described the strikes as “a spectacular military success,” adding that “Iran’s key enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”
Israeli Air Force hits 100 Hamas targets in the past 24 hours
After Hamas rejected the hostage deal proposed by the U.S., the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) seems to be stepping up pressure on the Gaza-based terrorist group.
The Israeli “troops are operating in northern Gaza to dismantle weapons and terror infrastructure, both above and below ground, and to eliminate terrorists,” the IDF said in a statement Saturday.
Israeli fighter jets struck a range of terrorist targets all across Gaza. “Over the past day, the IAF struck over 100 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the targets struck were terrorist cells, combat tunnels, military infrastructure, anti-tank missile posts, and weapons storage facilities,” the military added. “The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat posed to the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF soldiers.”
These reports come after President Trump, on Friday, blasted the terrorist group for rejecting the U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal, adding that Hamas leaders in Gaza “are going to be hunted down.”

IDF eliminates Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon
The IDF, on Saturday morning, eliminated a Hezbollah commander rebuilding the terrorist organization along the Israeli border in Southern Lebanon.
The IDF said in a statement that it “struck and eliminated the terrorist Ali Abd al-Qader Ismail, a commander in the headquarters of the Bint Jbeil sector of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.”
“Ismail was involved in efforts to rehabilitate the terrorist organization in the area of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon,” the military added. “The IDF will continue to operate to remove any threat posed to the State of Israel.”

Now kill the students studying nuclear physics at home and abroad and kill whatever professors remain as well. Don’t need to use the air force. They can use more traditional spycraft methodology. Make it so any Iranian thinking of studying nuclear physics breaks out in cold sweats and hives.
” in the first hours of the war killed all of Iran’s first and second tier of physicists and other nuclear scientists, as well as most of the third tier”
came here to add, “and makes a decision to move up in nuke physics a poor career choice”
I don’t get the down votes on this. Iran sponsored 10/7, the Houthis, Hezbollah, etc.
Some people don’t like my bloodthirstiness and have down voted me in the past for it. Sod them. They are almost as bad as those who support Iran.
EMP weapons are nuclear weapons. To understand how they work you need to understand Compton scattering. Research in this area goes way back. See the articles by Conrad Longmire such as “The Scattering of Gamma Rays in an Exponential Atmosphere.” He was a major contributor. A country does not need missiles to conduct an EMP attack. A balloon will work nicely as a delivery device. That’s why the Chinese balloon intrusion in 2023 was so serious. It should have been shot down immediately, and not allowed to traverse sensitive areas. We were tracking it right from the launch point in China. But for the diligence of amateur photographers we might have never found out. It looks to me like the US government was trying to keep the intrusion secret. Whose side was Biden on? Moreover the American media described the payload in funny ways. “The size of two (or three) buses” Why not tell us the weight of the payload? I worked that out myself. Once you know the diameter of the balloon, and its height, the calculation is easy.
Finally on a less technical and more humanistic note, I recommend the novel “One Second After,” by William R. Forstchen. It describes the effects of an EMP attack on a small North Carolina town. Emotional. Heart breaking. The story hit me hard because it’s so realistic. The truth: an EMP attack wiping out our electric grid would kill off 90% of the American population. Our government doesn’t seem to take EMP seriously. Whose side is it on?
Insightful. Thank you!
“nuclear-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP) devices capable of striking the telecommunications, internet, and banking infrastructure of a country or a region.”
How appropritel
A “Muslim Bomb.”
Takes the enemy back to the 6th Century so they can be fought on an even footing.
I read that novel years ago and was so frightened by it that I declined to read the sequel, One Year After. Yes, it’s plausible which is what makes it so scary. Alas, Babylon was also a good story that brought home the aftermath of a nuclear attack on the United States but wasn’t nearly as bad as One Second After.
.
“Alas, Babylon” was considering 1950s America, not 2020s America.
Tactical and battlefield EMP weapons are already available. As I remember, Iran was testing container ship launched ICBMs. They kept on “exploding” 100 miles up… which was considered a failure…UNLESS…. an EMP nuke is the warhead and the altitude is perfect for a detonation. In part that is why Iran can’t have a nuke…. Any country with ICBMs and nukes can bring a major country to its knees with EMPs….just three… Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of US launches and instant 18th century America without 18th century technology.
If Iran did detonate a nuclear device at a high altitude, they might have been experimenting with the Christofilos effect, also known as the Argus effect in which high energy electrons create a radiation belt similar to the Van Allen belts. Thus a nuclear power could create a very disruptive radiation with a detonation in its own airspace. The web used to have more information concerning the aggressive nature of the effect. But last time I looked such info has vanished.
This effect was predicted by one Nicholas Christofilos who worked at the Lawrence Radiation Lab (LRL), now called Lawrence Livermore Lab. The Lab conducted the Argus series of tests circa 1958 to explore the effect. Christofilos was a colorful Greek who also pushed the Astron Project which was a failed attempt at controlled fusion. Christofilos and his associates got into a pissing contest with the AEC over continued funding for Astron. The AEC said he had to prove it would work, while Christofilos said the AEC had to prove it wouldn’t. All this was on the web at one time. Christofilos died suddenly and with him gone, the project ended just as suddenly. Some physicists considered him a genius while others thought he was a crackpot.
Astron was one of many attempts at controlled fusion. An unrealized dream since 1947. Success is always five years in the future. A moving target. The Achilles Heel for controlled fusion: Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities. Both for the Tokamaks and laser fusion. My advise: be very skeptical of all the optimistic predictions. The only thing that has a good chance is heavy-ion fusion, but that requires an expensive linear accelerator. We are stuck with fission and fossil fuels for a long time. As usual the worst source of information on this subject: the MSM.
There is an actual company that is supposed to be building a commercial fusion power generator, I’m not sure their time frame and I don’t remember what technology they are using.
Oden… I used to live in both Montreat and Black Mountain.
How about EMPing Iran?
EMP bomb?
Basically a tactical NUKE.
Remember the US “Neutron Bomb” The one that was villified by the usual suspects because it used a “radiation pulse” to kill, with very little “blast.to destroy the “real-estate”..Decried as the perfect capitalist bomb”.
NOT: ALL Hules have an initial letha radiation pulse. See Hirishima and Nagasaki
The pulse is emitted at “criticality”, BEFORE the “big bang”.
This was also clearly demonstrated when the Germans “test-fired” at least two “devices “out in the woods” These were controlled “fizzles” wherein the “device basically MELTED in the process of emitting a radiation pulse. As part of these experiments, LIVE test subjects (prisoners, worn-out slave labourers, etc) were placed at various distances from the “device”.. virtually all suffered radiation / “flash” burns many took days to die whilst being “‘studied”.
The bodies were carefully collected and burnt and buried.
So,the Satanic cult in Tehran are basically advertising that they have a crude but effective “bomb” programme running. Are they serious or just bluffing?
FAFO RULES.
“Interesting Times”? Indeed.
Those against the neutron bomb are basically the immoral idiots. The plan was to fight the Russians in Europe if forced to. What better way to employ tactical nukes then using neutron bombs to kill the invaders while not destroying West German infrastructure. The populace would evacuate or shelter and there would be minimal blast or fallout to affect them. I always thought this made a lot of sense but as usual the holier than thou progressive losers had to f everything up
A neutron bomb is what sets off a hydrogen bomb. Only problem with them is neurons do not penetrate very deep underground, Think of them like a high power microwave, producing radiation for a very brief time. The kill zone is about a 700′ diameter circle, that is about a city block.
