NYC Shooter Killed Four People, Including NYPD Officer

NYC Shooter Killed Four People, Including NYPD Officer

One man remains in critical condition.

**UPDATE 10:36 PM

Two men, one woman, and officer Didarul Islam, 36, are dead after Shane Tamura opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper near 51st Avenue Street and Park Avenue.

One man is in critical condition.

Tamura is a resident of Nevada. Officers found his car, which also had another weapon inside.

Tamura then shot himself after shooting five people in total.

——-

A very fluid situation. I’m seeing a lot of conflicting information.

What we do know is that a shooter opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper near 51st Avenue Street and Park Avenue. Blackstone and the NFL headquarters are located in the building.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said that “the lone shooter has been neutralized.”

Sources have told the NYP that three people died, including one cop. Not confirmed though.

Also NOT confirmed, only by sources: The shooter was Shane Tamura from Nevada and he killed five and injured six.

CNN made a fool of itself as usual.

If he’s another white male Trump supporter, we will never learn about it here

but of course its one of your “Free blmplo” rioters ///murderers

Implying that there have been other incidents caused by a “white male Trump supporter”.
    Those would be what, exactly?

    Liar.

Moonmouth, is that you? That sounds just like something you’d post: smarmy, idiotic, and wrong.
By the way, if you bothered to do even a bit of research, you’d have seen that the shooter is ANYTHING but a white male Trump supporter.
Get the hell out of here, Zero.

guyjones in reply to ZenosParadox. | July 29, 2025 at 6:42 am

You’re a dim-witted fool. CNN was reflexively opining — without a shred of evidence, naturally — that the perp was “possibly white.” So, that contradicts your idiotic statement.

Continue to deny/ignore the fact that 99.9% of corporate-owned and government-funded media platforms are staunchly pro-Dhimmi-crat in their views — you demonstrate both your dishonesty and your stupidity.

and nyc has a former cop as the mayor

ahaahahahahaaaaaa

I’m invoking the 48 hour rule.

But I fully expect the usual suspects to be responsible.

And as soon as that happens, this will be brushed under the rug, save the cries to remove firearms from those who did not commit a criminal act, and could very well have stopped this one if the Second Amendment meant anything in NYC.

I guess I’m not following the 48 hour rule am I? Guess it’s the cynicism kicking in, eh?

We get the predictable comments from the peanut gallery: Rep Ritchie Torres (D-15th district Bronx) said the shooting served as “a grim reminder of the persistent danger posed by firearms …” Of course laws don’t help because illegal guns are readily available to criminals. The scene from the Movie “Taxi Driver” shows the reality. The character Travis Bickle buys guns on sale from the trunk of a car. I’m told many of these guns actually come from the ATF. Andrew Branca said the same thing in a recent podcast. He worked as a sanitation truck repairman in Harlem. Austin Texas is a big city full of people with guns. Does Austin have more of these terror shootings?

A psychologist wrote that “the trigger pulls the finger”. Amazing magical powers when one shapes metal, plastic and wood into a firearm. If he traveled from Nevada, halting all travel in the US could have prevented this “needless act of gun violence”.

The width of the mag in the photo looks like the rifle might be chambered in .308 v .223. Either way this certainly displays the futility of 2A infringement in NYC and NY State. People who are hell bent on delivering evil don’t care about laws, rules or signs prohibiting firearms or anything else they choose to utilize as the instrument.

He brought it from Nevada is my guess. So now the question is how did he travel there?
(In terms of firearms laws, that is.)

      He drove….

      See FOPA of 1986

      See 18 USC 926A

Transporting: Not staying for any determined length of time. Passing through on the way to some place.

a Midtown skyscraper near 51st Avenue and Park Avenue.

51st Street. 51st Avenue would be somewhere around Rutherford!

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | July 28, 2025 at 9:44 pm

Libs of TikTok noted that CNN said the shooter was “possibly white”. The guy seemed to be everything BUT white. … But he had some white on his sneakers, so there’s that.

Another “Free Pali” America-hating, anti-Western nut – i.e. probably a democrat candidate for some Congress seat or mayoral race.

“Possibly white”. Yes, at some point that was a possibility. At that point it was also possible that he was Liechtensteinian.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to Milhouse. | July 28, 2025 at 9:58 pm

It certainly wouldn’t have been unusual for it to have been some lunatic white leftist – maybe even Amy Carter trying to get back into her college ways – but we know that that wasn’t the direction CNN was trying to lead it’s 7 viewers towards.

      Schrödinger’s shooter.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Milhouse. | July 29, 2025 at 8:15 am

It was also “possible “ he drove there in a Studebaker Starlight coupé. “Possible “ gives garbage news like CNN exactly the affect they want. Folks added out the word “possibly” when they hear the story.

I *will* abide by the 48 hours rule on his motives, tho. A dead Muslim cop doesn’t shout “Hamasnik shooter” to me.

Apparently this idiot is a graduate of Granada Hills Charter High School in LA. As far as public schools in the LA are go, it’s one of the best. If you’re poor but smart, that school is a real opportunity….which he squandered. I suspect we’ll see more grievance shootings moving forward, a trend unfortunately started by the absurdly positive reaction to Luigi Mangione’s murderous rampage.

ZeroHedge has all the details including the gun. One Shane Tamara from Nevada. Had a carry license. AR platform short barrel rifle. I think it actually qualifies as a pistol. He was carrying in the street. Video of him as a football player. Motive a mystery. Hardly a white guy. Registered as an independent.

DaveGinOly in reply to oden. | July 29, 2025 at 12:14 am

It has a full (adjustable) stock. So if it has a short barrel, it’s an SBR, because stocks aren’t allowed on pistols. (Unless Trump’s ATF has changed that rule, but I don’t believe so.)

Also, this may just be an AR-15 (not an AR-10). The back side of the mag can be seen from the viewing angle, making it look longer (front to back) than a mag for the former.

Semper Why in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 29, 2025 at 9:21 am

SBR are defined via the National Firearms Act so it’s not an ATF rule. What is and what is not a stock… well, yeah. That’s subject to ATF interpretation. A better picture of the firearm would definitely be helpful.

      Blackwing1 in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 29, 2025 at 9:41 am

      DaveGinOly:

Having had and trained for three State of MN carry permits, I can definitely say that the carry law does NOT define the type of firearm that may be carried. Pistol, shotgun, rifle; none of that matters as long as it is a legally-owned firearm. Of course, in MN if you carry a long-arm outside of a hunting area you are definitely going to be nailed by the police for “disturbing the peace” or some other charge, which is why people don’t carry them even though it is technically legal.

The UK’s Daily Mail had a photograph of the firearm used (I have no idea how they got it, since the fore end was covered in blood) which shows it to be a semi-auto AR-type receiver with a two-position (safe/single) safety. It appears to be what a lot of people would call an “Em-forgery”; in other words, a semi-auto version of the military’s M4 carbine with a less-than-sixteen-inch barrel. It appeared to be sized for the .223/5.56 round.

ZeroHedge has all the details including the gun. One Shane Tamara from Nevada. Had a carry license.

DaveGinOly in reply to oden. | July 29, 2025 at 12:19 am

To my knowledge, no jurisdiction issues a “carry license” for long guns. At best, that would be a hunting license, permitting the carry of a long while hunting. I’m in WA State, and we can open carry long guns (as well as handguns) without a permit. A carry permit (as opposed to a permit to simply own a gun) is almost exclusively for handguns, and usually meant to allow concealed carry, which is obviously not a “thing” with long guns.

If he did have “carry license,” it is almost certainly not a factor in this story unless he was also carrying a handgun on his person, but that’s not evident from the photos.

henrybowman in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 29, 2025 at 2:21 am

Nah. The point of mentioning the license is simply to establish that he was a “second amendment bro” and not some shooter of convenience who picked up his first firearm last week just for this trip. It’s all part and parcel of smearing “second amendment bros” across America.

I’m beginning to think Manchurian Candidate is the most underrated movie.

oden in reply to Petrushka. | July 28, 2025 at 11:37 pm

I’m not sure why you think it’s underrated. It got very good reviews, and many academy award nominations. See the Wikipedia entry. I personally think it was an absolutely great movie. One of my favorites. Another production that deals with Chinese interference in American elections was an Outer Limits episode from 1963 titled: “The Hundred Days of the Dragon.” The Chinese invent a method to make human skin temporarily plastic. They use it to create a double for the leading candidate for president. Then they murder the candidate and replace him with the double. A great show. Outer Limits episodes were low budget, but with creative effects and superb acting they got very effective productions.

henrybowman in reply to oden. | July 29, 2025 at 2:22 am

If they had been able to predict Joe Biden, they could have used just plain plastic.

I have been watching Fox News coverage of the NYC shooting. They have run footage of about a dozen cops hurriedly escorting a woman in handcuffs away from the building. Fox gives no information about this but they run the footage over and over again. does anyone know what is going on with this woman in handcuffs?

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to olafauer. | July 28, 2025 at 11:37 pm

No clue. And the mayor and police commis and FBI and others gave an utterly useless press conference in which they ignored the fact that anyone was arrested/cuffed for anything.

It’s a bunch of morons running things there.

DaveGinOly in reply to olafauer. | July 29, 2025 at 12:21 am

It would be highly unusual, but they may have found the woman in a dangerous situation and wanted to remove her quickly without first checking to see if she was part of the problem. Quick solution – cuff her and rush her out of danger. Just a possibility.

henrybowman in reply to olafauer. | July 29, 2025 at 12:46 am

Maybe she righteously opposed the shooter with one of those weapons the authorities don’t like.

Casually scrolling into an office building with rifle. The see something say something crowd was where? I am waitress ng for the oft used phrase of banning “weapons of war” which “only purpose is to kill lots of people quickly.”. So how do the police show up? With the same or real assault weapons. The same formula shows up to get the attention the murdered wants and the press and politicians will give them.

Semper Why in reply to alaskabob. | July 29, 2025 at 9:24 am

It is to wonder how the famous attitude of “In New York, nothing phases us because we’ve seen everything” is supposed to jibe with “see something, say something”.

henrybowman in reply to Semper Why. | July 29, 2025 at 1:28 pm

It all depends on where you live,
If you’re naked on your front porch and nobody knows, it’s rural.
If you’re naked on your front porch and somebody calls the cops, it’s suburban.
If you’re naked on your front porch and nobody cares, it’s urban.
If you’re naked on your front porch and so are your neighbors on either side, it’s NYC.

Boy, NYC has fallen eh! I remember visiting many years ago and being impressed by the fact that it felt like cops were on every corner of the city…and all that was on Rudy for turning the city around.

Now that Democrats are in control, it seems to have descended in to shit hole territory like every other Democrat run shit hole.

“Possibly White” is my rapper name.

What if one or two people in that building had been armed? Even with something like a Bryna ( I have one and they work great).

    Blackwing1 in reply to jamesleetn. | July 29, 2025 at 9:47 am

One of the best photos to come out of this shows the ‘barricade” that a bunch of employees threw up in front of the door to their office, with useless stacked lightweight sofas and other junk.

All I could think was, “Just draw your damned carry gun, and take cover behind a paper-filled file cabinet, and pop the SOB as he comes through the fatal funnel of the door.”

Then I remembered that this is New York Effin’ City, and you have automatically been declared to be a helpless victim by your government (unless you’re rich or politically connected).

We now know: Erin Burnett is “possibly stupid”.

Now, possibly CTE. Possibly middle class. Definitely deranged.

Kamala voters are crazed extremists.

Latest information seems to show this is a case of suicide-to-make-people-notice wrapped up with noone-will-care-if-I-don’t-kill-others-first.

He was a star football player in HS, apparently suffered trauma that prevented a NFL career (hence the NFL building). He wanted them to study his brain (hence shooting himself in the chest).

henrybowman in reply to GWB. | July 29, 2025 at 1:35 pm

He probably won’t get much mileage out of that choice, Perhaps he should have shot himself in a teaching hospital, or outside a coroner’s lab. These guys are more likely to try to inflate it properly.
