An Israeli airstrike eliminated a Hamas terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, and held Emily Damari hostage in his home, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday.

“On June 19, 2025, the IDF and ISA struck and eliminated the terrorist Muhammad Nasr Ali Quneita in the area of Gaza City,” the IDF said in a press release.
“Quneita was a terrorist in Hamas’ Al-Furqan Battalions’ military intelligence, who infiltrated Israel on the brutal October 7th massacre and held Emily Damari hostage in his home at the start of the war,” the IDF added.

Emily Damari, a 28-year-old British-Israeli national, was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023 from her home in Kfar Aza. She was released in exchange for Palestinian terrorists in January 2025 after enduring 471 days of captivity.

Damari was shot by Hamas terrorists on October 7 and was denied proper medical treatment throughout her 15 month-long captivity. She lost two of her fingers as a result of the gunshot wound and subsequent neglect.
“Damari was shot at close range in her left hand and right leg in Kfar Aza before being kidnapped on October 7,” the Jerusalem Post previously reported.
Damari’s 11-year-old dog was also shot dead by Hamas’s terrorist intruders.
The Israel Hayom newspaper covered the details surrounding her kidnapping:
Emily Damari (28), who has British citizenship, was kidnapped from her home in the “Young Generation” neighborhood of Kfar Aza on October 7. She managed to send a final message to her family around 10:20 a.m. on the day of the massacre, telling them about terrorist gunfire near her home. Her close friend Gali Berman came to be with her during the frightening moments, and both sent a joint selfie to the neighborhood WhatsApp group.
Another wave of terrorists then broke through the fence and rushed toward the neighborhood. Damari was shot and kidnapped while wounded, along with Gali and his twin brother Ziv. Her dog, Chocha, was shot dead. During the neighborhood massacre, 11 residents were murdered and seven others kidnapped.
The IDF vowed to pursue all terrorists responsible for the atrocities committed during the attacks, saying it will “continue operating against the terrorists who took part in the brutal October 7th massacre.”
The Israeli news website Ynetnews reported Damari’s response to the killing of the terrorist who held her captive:
Damari said in a post on Instagram of the killing of the terrorist who held her: “One of many. May there be many such good news and may we be held accountable for all of them, God willing. But the real victory will be when Gali, Ziv and the other 48 hostages return.”
Immediately afterwards, she added, next to his picture: “This is what the face of evil looks like. A face I will never forget. So happy to know that he is no longer in our world.”
IDF targets Hamas, Islamic Jihad operatives trying to rebuild terrorist capabilities in Gaza
As part of the ongoing ground operation, the Israeli military targeted Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) operatives trying to rebuild their terrorist capabilities in Gaza.
“Over the past two weeks, guided by IDF intelligence and the ISA, the IDF struck and eliminated a series of commanders in various units in Hamas’ military wing and the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization,” the IDF disclosed in a separate statement Monday. “The units operated to rebuild the terrorist organizations’ military capabilities, including the Weapons Production Headquarters and the Military Intelligence Unit.”

The IDF struck and repelled Syrian tanks that tried to breach the buffer zone established nearly eight months ago in the Golan Heights. The tanks belonged to the Syrian Islamist regime led by Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa, formerly known as al-Julani. The IDF “strike targeted several Syrian tanks that had crossed the border into an area defined by Israel as a buffer zone near the Golan Heights,” the Israeli broadcaster Arutz Sheva reported Monday.
In December 2024, Israel created a buffer zone along its northern border with Syria following the fall of the Assad regime.
“The IDF struck the tanks in order to prevent their arrival to the area,” the Israeli military said. “The presence of these assets in southern Syria may pose a threat to the State of Israel. The IDF will not allow the establishment of a military threat in southern Syria and will operate against it. The IDF continues to monitor the developments in the area.”
The IDF releases footage showing its airstrike on Syrian tanks in the Sweida area of southern Syria earlier today.
The military says the tanks were struck near the village of Sami', after they were identified heading toward Sweida.
