Democrats in Freefall: Voter Confidence Hits Historic Low

“The new survey finds that 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party—the highest share in Journal polls dating to 1990 and 30 percentage points higher than the 33% who hold a favorable view.”

The Democratic Party is staring down a political crisis of historic proportions. According to a new Wall Street Journal poll, Democrats now have the worst favorability rating recorded in 35 years, an alarming signal for a party still reeling from its 2024 losses and struggling to reconnect with voters.

The new survey finds that 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party—the highest share in Journal polls dating to 1990 and 30 percentage points higher than the 33% who hold a favorable view.

Even more damning: just 8% of voters view the Democratic Party very favorably, compared to 19% for Republicans. The survey, conducted by Democratic pollster John Anzalone and Trump’s former pollster Tony Fabrizio, paints a bleak picture for Democrats on nearly every major issue.

In some cases, the disparities are striking. Disapproval of Trump’s handling of inflation outweighs approval by 11 points, and yet the GOP is trusted more than Democrats to handle inflation by 10 points. By 17 points, voters disapprove rather than approve of Trump’s handling of tariffs, and yet Republicans are trusted more than Democrats on the issue by 7 points.

Incredibly, even where Trump himself falters, the GOP still holds the edge. The Journal poll found voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation and tariffs—by 11 and 17 points respectively—yet still trust Republicans more than Democrats on both issues. In a political environment where dissatisfaction is rampant, the Democrats have somehow managed to appear less trustworthy than the very administration they seek to oppose.

“The Democratic brand is so bad that they don’t have the credibility to be a critic of Trump or the Republican Party,” said John Anzalone, a Democratic pollster who worked on the Journal survey with Republican Tony Fabrizio. “Until they reconnect with real voters and working people on who they’re for and what their economic message is, they’re going to have problems.”

The data also reveals a shift in voter identification that could spell disaster for Democrats in 2026. For the first time in decades, more Americans now identify as Republicans than Democrats in a stark reversal from 2017, when Democrats held a six-point advantage.

Although Democrats maintain a slight lead on a generic congressional ballot (46% to 43%), that advantage is half what it was at the same point during Trump’s first term. Combine that with dwindling fundraising numbers—Republicans ended the first half of 2025 with over $80 million on hand compared to just $15 million for Democrats—and the warning signs are hard to miss.

Simply put, the numbers don’t lie: the Democratic Party is in deep trouble, and voters are noticing.

Keep in mind that this historic low has been achieved in spite of near absolute positive coverage from the Democrat propoganda outlets!!

Good news, since that means a majority of the country isn’t buying legacy media’s bullsh*it either.

Color me unimpressed.

Or, to paraphrase, reports of the party’s death are greatly exaggerated.

They’ve been anti- American since before the Civil War and today they’re as mad as hell.

Do not underestimate a wounded and cornered animal. They are very dangerous.

If they keep hiring pandas and illustrating mental illness and performative rage, it’s only going lower.

Say what you want about Nancy Pelosi, but at least she was way on the eyes.

Hakeem Jeffries, on the contrary, is revulsive looking.

It is so fitting that he is now the face of the Democratic Party.

The fact that they are losing by every conventional political measure using conventional political means, also means that they are going to be drawn to . . . unconventional political means. Their candidates for mayor in New York City and Minneapolis openly use Marxist slogans as campaign promises.. The impending closing of refineries in California [caused by Democrat taxes and regulations] has those around Governor Newsome to speak of expropriating the refineries and having the government run them.

Do not expect them to “play by the rules”.

Surveys are insufficient low given their candidates and their policies. Something is very very wrong with their supporters.

Don’t get too excited. I suspect a large fraction of Democrats don’t “view their party favorably” because they feel it has failed to be effective at implementing leftist policies.

I can recall decades of polling where the electorate holds a negative view of Congress. They have nothing but disdain for the collective mass of [__insert your favorite pejorative here__] but the individual voter is happy with their representative or senator. It’s the people the other voters elect that are reason for what is wrong with Congress. Thus, across the nation the same people get elected. If the people of the individual districts like Jeffries, AOC, or Max Waters then they get elected, regardless of what the voters in Tulsa, Boise or Mobile think of them.

This is because their base wants democratic socialism or communism and DEI bigotry. the “moderate” democrats are mostly gone and outnumbered a process Obama started with his “progressive party “ and has now been fully realized by the squad morons. So if they surveyed these same people they’d say they trust Zomoran Mamdipshit and his ilk. It’s a transition they did to themselves and now have to live with. If they had just let Bernie run in 2016 and gotten it out of their system I think the country would be past this ; but they didn’t and here we are.

The only pertinent question is “Will you vote for the Dramacrat candidate or stay home in Nov 2026?”

Ask me how I feel about the GOP and I will tell you that they are almost entirely Uniparty hacks and Dem colluders. This doesn’t mean I will vote Dem or not vote at all.

Republicans dwell under the umbrella of Obama’s remark regarding Joe Biden’s ability to FTU. Ir seems many Republicans are cut from the same cloth.
