Trump: Putin Said ‘He Will Have to Respond to’ Recent Attacks From Ukraine

The men also discussed Iran and nuclear weapons.

President Donald Trump announced that Russian dictator President Vladimir Putin told him he would respond to recent attacks from Ukraine.

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

I just finished speaking, by telephone, with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia. The call lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides. It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields. We also discussed Iran, and the fact that time is running out on Iran’s decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly! I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement. President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion. It is my opinion that Iran has been slowwalking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time!

I don’t share Trump’s optimism that Putin prefers Iran not having a nuclear weapon. Russia has few allies. Putin cannot afford to lose any.

On Sunday, Ukraine used mini-drones to strike bombers and aircraft located in Russia.

Ben wrote on Sunday:

The mission called “Operation Spider’s Web” involved 117 drones and was personally overseen by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It caused an estimated $11 billion in damage to Russia’s bomber fleet.

According to journalist Illia Ponomarenko, the drones were launched from parked trucks staged deep inside Russian territory. These mobile platforms, camouflaged to look like ordinary cargo haulers, served as remote drone bays, allowing swarms of FPV (first-person view) drones to launch with deadly accuracy.

It was a brilliant move by Ukraine.

Trump told Putin that Ukraine did not inform him about the attack beforehand.

I do not blame Ukraine. I do not think Trump would give Putin a heads up, but when it comes to those operations, the fewer people who know, the better.

I feel the same about Israel. Israel doesn’t need to tell the U.S. about any attacks or operations. I imagine if it did, it wouldn’t have been able to pull off the beeper and cellphone explosions.

Comments

I can’t say that I blame Putin for wanting to hit Ukraine back…..the Little Man in a Sweatsuit struts while his citizens bear the burden.
Zelensky is just like Hamas in that respect–so long as he gets his $$ he’s tone deaf to the suffering he’s causing while “claiming” he wants peace.

A pox on both of their houses.

Of course, he will respond which helps Zelensky and his sponsors maintain their forever war.

Mike Pompeo former head of the CIA said the day before the attack that the Crimea must be returned to Ukrainian control, and the only acceptable result was a total defeat of Russia. A defeat of Russia could only be accomplished by WWIII and even then, only if Russia did not use nukes.

I saw a recent Charlie Kirk video where he was debating Cambridge Professors and students and one of the main topics was the Ukraine war. Both the Professors and students were adamant that the EU and US should go all out to defeat Russia. I propose that Britain reinstate the draft, and they can replicate the slaughter of a whole generation of young men that they experienced in the trenches of WWI.

Remember. Trump said he would end the Russia/Ukraine War within 24 hours. So there is nothing to worry about. Move along. Nothing to see here.

      “Nothing to see here.”

That’s right! Every time we see you’ve made a new a comment we say, “This is that idiot JR. Nothing to see here. Move along.”

Sure and the primary obstacle to ending the war seems to be Zelenskyy so removing Zelenskyy from the board would seem to be the next step. I’m sure you’ll give your full throated support for that course so we can get back on track to end the war.

Hit Ukraine back? This was Ukraine hitting Russia back.

Russia wants all of Ukraine and every “peace deal” Russia has offered are just total surrender with extra steps.

There are times when the best thing to say is nothing.
.

Yeah, why don’t you ‘respond’ with a cease-fire and negotiations for a long-term peace. You’ve killed enough people on both sides for now.

Yes Putin will have to respond. Not sure he can do anything any different from what he has already done. Only thing he has left he hasn’t used is tactical nukes.

I don’t believe Putin on his Iran comments. Putin and Iran are cooperating at the moment. He has little reason to stop doing so.

He just keeps doing what’s he’s doing, grinding the Ukraine down but by bit.

ztakddot in reply to mailman. | June 4, 2025 at 5:13 pm

Why not. It’s not his life, his families, nor his treasure.

Mauiobserver in reply to mailman. | June 4, 2025 at 5:32 pm

He will probably make a major statement such as destroying power stations or even a missile/bombing attack on government buildings in the capital.

GravityOpera | June 4, 2025 at 4:54 pm

Attacks? This operation is a COUNTER-attack and does not need any response except to go home and stop the mass murder you started.

mailman in reply to GravityOpera. | June 4, 2025 at 5:03 pm

They aren’t going home but it seems an aweful lot of people are keen for others to keep dying to keep this war going 🤔

GravityOpera in reply to mailman. | June 4, 2025 at 6:05 pm

Yes, Putin is awful keen to continue killing others at no risk to himself.

nordic prince in reply to GravityOpera. | June 4, 2025 at 8:01 pm

You mean “Zelensky.” That grifter doesn’t care how many men are killed in his unwillingness and refusal to engage in peace talks.

GravityOpera in reply to nordic prince. | June 4, 2025 at 10:39 pm

What peace talks? Every “deal” offered by Russia has been nothing but total surrender just with extra steps. Accepting any of them would be treason to his country.

henrybowman | June 4, 2025 at 5:03 pm

I can’t say I’m intimately involved with the state of the “peace talks”… but I strongly questioned the optics of a giant coordinated drone attack while they were supposedly in progress.
The truculent midget does NOT want the war to end.

ztakddot in reply to henrybowman. | June 4, 2025 at 5:14 pm

Well if you planned something for 17 months it be a waste to do nothing.

GravityOpera in reply to henrybowman. | June 4, 2025 at 6:06 pm

There are no peace talks. Not by any conventional definition anyway.

CommoChief in reply to GravityOpera. | June 4, 2025 at 8:23 pm

The side that is losing has terms dictated to them by the side that is winning. In case you missed it Ukraine is losing and Russia is winning. There’s no way Ukraine can change the situation on the ground and push Russia out of the territory they control. The Russians ain’t giving back the Donnas and sure as heck not Crimea. The longer this goes the more territory ends up permanently in Russian hands.

ztakddot in reply to CommoChief. | June 4, 2025 at 8:43 pm

Unless you’re Israel and most of the world including your supposed allies and 1/3 your own people are pressuring your to accept Hamas terms.

GravityOpera in reply to CommoChief. | June 4, 2025 at 10:41 pm

The “terms” are surrender just with extra steps. Better to go down fighting than voluntarily live under Russian tyranny.

CommoChief in reply to GravityOpera. | June 5, 2025 at 6:22 am

The majority of the people in the Donbas region which Russia has occupied seem to be ok with being ruled by Moscow v by Kiev.

The population in the rest of Ukraine doesn’t seem to be too keen on fighting to the last Ukrainian to support the neocon/globalist fever dream…. at least based on the numbers of military volunteers v forced conscripts.

GravityOpera in reply to GravityOpera. | June 5, 2025 at 10:57 pm

Everybody not happy about it evacuated before Russian troops arrived, got displaced by Russian security forces, or is keeping their mouth shut to avoid option 2. Surveys before the war showed that a super-majority of Eastern Ukrainians wanted to remain Ukrainian.

That happens in every country facing an existential invasion. Heck, I’ve got a chore list a mile long that I’ve been avoiding and the cost of doing them is nothing compared to combat.

Putin miscalculated. He believed kiev would fall within 30 days. He doesn’t have back-up plan. Stalemate. If this war is important to EU then they should pay for it.
