Women Protest All-Male Final Championship at Women’s Pool Tournament

An all-men’s final stole the spotlight at the 2025 Ultimate Pool Women’s Pro Series Event 2 in Wigan, UK, on Sunday.

Yes, you read that right—both finalists, Harriet Hayes and Lucy Smith, are transgender men.

The outcome sparked a wave of outrage and mockery across Twitter:

The event also drew in-person protests from several UK-based Women’s Rights groups with one of their main activists, Jean Hatchet, attending the event to protest the players during practice and was removed from the venue.

She later shared the moment they confronted eventual winner Harriet Hayes:

Despite being removed from the venue, Jean Hatchet held her ground—even in the face of angry fans and alleged abuse from security.

Hatchet was joined by Lynne Pinches, a respected veteran of the game and matriarch of a pool-playing family. Pinches made headlines in 2023 when she walked out of the Women’s Pro Series final rather than compete against Harriet Hayes, the same transgender man who won Sunday’s final.

While they didn’t stop the event, Pinches and her supporters say this is just the beginning—and they plan to take their fight to the media.

And as pro-trans, anti-” hate speech” as the UK has become, they’re going to need all the support they can get.

Please stop using the fictional term “transgender”; no such thing exists. These are men wearing woman costumes, and nothing more.

In sports, I have to assume these are weak men who can’t win by competing with others of their sex, but in other walks of life it is simply mental illness, and its a sad commentary that otherwise rational people feel the need to acquiesce to these poor delusional folk.

Pandering to psychological delusions is not helpful or kind, and it absolutely is not remaking reality.

Rock.
Meet Bottom.

To hear that fat man say the “men” earned it

What has happened to this crazy world

Where are the real men to help put a stop to this?

And the woman, just ushering out the real women
Disgusting

Someone explain to me why pool requires gender specific divisions?

Same reason things like chess, eSports, or even things like tournament fishing have women’s leagues.

Because the % of men willing to dedicate insane amounts of time and effort to being the best is significantly higher than among women, basically ensuring that the top performers in any field will always be those men.

Incidentally, in almost all cases, there is NO SUCH THING as a ‘men’s league’. There’s no actual requirement to be a man to join them, they are actually OPEN competitions, and in fact, women are free to sign up for them rather than the women’s league, as long as they abide by the same drug testing restrictions that the men do.

So? Why is that a problem? If you want to be good at something, put in the time. If it’s not that important to you then don’t, but then you don’t deserve to be recognized as a champion at that thing.

    Pro Tip:

    Read the article before posting:

“…the men are taller, longer reach, fingers bigger for a bridge when balls are close together,.

Plenty of women are taller than plenty of men. If this is a tall people’s game (it’s not a sport) then let tall people compete for it. Why is a tall woman’s complaint that there are men who are even taller more valid than a short person (of either sex)’s complaint that so many others are taller?

For the same reason that there are 2 divisions in chess. Women at the highest levels can not beat the men and the reason is…no one really knows why, they just can’t. It’s strange but true. It doesn’t seem to be skill or intelligence but it’s something.

It’s cultural. With the exception of women like Judit Polgar, who beat 11 former world champions, most parent aren’t teaching their little girls to play chess. When I was a child, my brother was given a chess set and build your own radio kits. They never considered that I wanted the same. The only “useful” toy I was ever given was from my grandfather, a Stanford graduate and engineer who gave me an abacus and taught me to use it in first grade.

Actually it DOES seem to be skill and intelligence, but everyone is afraid to say so.

You win chess by being able to see variables many moves ahead and plan for them AND by being willing to abandon them and strike out in an odd direction.

Women plan for, and into stability. This makes maximizing variables and variability more difficult.

Men plan for, and into, an ever shifting landscape. Variables come naturally and stability follows the accounting for each one.

      Thus are the sexes complementary.

Because many of the differences between populations of men and populations of of women are firmware differences. It creates large differences, particularly at either tail of the bell curve.

    Read it in the article.
Men are taller, have bigger fingers, and a longer reach.
    This gives them an advantage.

I’d rather see a real woman lining up a shot across a pool table. Dudes In Dresses just can’t be the same.

Piers better watch what he says on social media. The UK government will send the bobbies over to his flat to educate him with an arrest for “hate speech” Sadly, the UK doesn’t have freedom of speech . They will cite you for praying silently or wrong think.

I’m not sure if I have the entire story here. Did the women object only when it got to the point that transgenders were at the top, or did they object when initially included in the competition? Those men in dresses had to be participating since the first day and throughout the competition to get to the final championship.

how are women going to fight frontline ….carry their weight in the fire departments if they cant even compete against men in a sporting event????

so either stop the political bs that women should be paid the same as a men when they cant perform the same

or let them play against males

I dont like it but the hypocrisy is worse

Creepy gay males should compete with straight males. But not sure there is any advantage either way with table games like pool.

Saw a great video yesterday. 3 top tier female athletes versus three normal dad-bod guys.

The dad-bods destroyed them.

The women knew what they were doing, the men were recruited without knowing they were going to be doing athletic games.

3 unprepared normies destroyed three prepared athletes.

Keep men out of women’s sports.
