Anti-Israel Student Activist at Cornell Drops Lawsuit Against Trump and Self-Deports
“Given what we have seen across the United States, I have lost faith that a favourable ruling from the courts would guarantee my personal safety and ability to express my beliefs”

Momodou Taal, a Cornell student and British citizen, has decided to self-deport following an attempt to sue Donald Trump for allegedly violating his rights. Taal has since dropped the lawsuit.
Like many of the other international students in similar circumstances, Taal was involved in anti-Israel demonstrations and posted inflammatory anti-American messages on social media.

The Cornell Daily Sun reports:
BREAKING: Momodou Taal, the Pro-Palestinian Activist Who Sued Trump, Voluntarily Leaves the Country
Momodou Taal, a pro-Palestinian activist and international Ph.D student, announced his decision to leave the country on Monday — ending a weeks-long struggle with the federal government that began when he sued the Trump adminstration.
Soon after Taal announced his decision on X and Instagram, his lawyers withdrew his lawsuit in federal court.
Taal first made national news when he, alongside Sriram Parasurama, a Ph.D. student in plant sciences, and Prof. Mũkoma wa Ngũgĩ, literatures in English, sued the Trump administration for allegedly violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights. Their suit claimed that the implementation of two Trump executive orders targeted pro-Palestinian speech and dampened dissent.
The U.S. State Department revoked Taal’s F-1 student visa after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement identified him for “disruptive action” on March 14, one day before the lawsuit was filed. Taal would not be notified of the change to his visa status until March 21, according to testimony submitted in court by John Armstrong, senior bureau official for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs.
More from The Hill:
Taal said he was due to submit a second briefing in court, which he planned to do “with the hope that I could stay out of detention” as the lawsuit progressed, but he decided to leave the country instead, fearing for his safety.
“Given what we have seen across the United States, I have lost faith that a favourable ruling from the courts would guarantee my personal safety and ability to express my beliefs,” Taal wrote in his statement.
“I have lost faith I could walk the streets without being abducted,” he continued. “Weighing these options, I took the decision to leave on my own terms.”
“This is of course not the outcome I had wanted going into this, but we are facing a government that has no respect for the judiciary or for the rule of the law,” he added.
Okay I think this guy genuinely deserved to be deported. https://t.co/rUyARsyzTN pic.twitter.com/mJBdlRLAKN

Once again, the media and the left are working overtime to try to make this all about free speech.
This is not a free speech issue.

Jewish students and faculty at Cornell University will be safer without this pro Hamas activist living in our country.
Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump, for showing him the door. https://t.co/BZqd51tDMy pic.twitter.com/6kpputRt8N

This isn’t rocket science. If you’re in the United States as a guest, maybe don’t attend protests calling for the destruction of the United States and praising known terrorist groups.

Good riddance to this Jew-hating, pro-Islamofascist/Muslim terrorist trash. And, kudos to the Trump Administration for doing what the vile, evil and stupid Dhimmi-crats would never possess the moral clarity and gumption to ever do, so committed are they are to enabling and coddling genocidal Islamofascists and their non-Muslim, useful idiot dhimmi allies.
He’s also a particularly ignorant Marxist — he confused “dialect” and “dialectic”, but that was clearly what he was trying for.
Or, meant dielectric, to insulate himself from Trump’s actions.
He has his own electric chair? Too bad he didn’t use it.
Autocomplete with its monkey back guarantee.
I miss my Trunk Monkey.
I would love having him back.
He’s been deported.
Nothing annoys me more than a foreigner on US soil, sheltered by the US, protected by the US, granted rights they don’t have in their native country by the US, in some cases paid by the US hating on the US. Don’t like it here just G O A W A Y!!! This is especially true of “entertainers” but also extended to students and professors.
BTW who keeps paying for these high priced lawyers?? Let’s have a little expose on where the money is coming from.
We already know
All roads lead to Soros
Apparently his “native” country is the Islamic Republic of Britain.
May the Caliphate live forever… in Not-So-Great Britain. But not here.
Here is a good explanation of how the money flows, from a different but accurate perspective:

‘Guarantee’ his safety? Get bent, there’s no such thing as guaranteed safety.
Why would he want to be here among people he fears and who hate him? He made the right decision in leaving.
He made the wrong decision in coming here.
We made the wrong decision letting him come here.
And Cornell didn’t solve the problem, Trump’s administration did. Fixing Cornell when Cornell won’t fix itself.
Of course, Biden left the screen doors open all night for four years.
That’s absolutely right.
Don’t let the screen door hit you ~STUPIDO~ and never come back!

“I have lost faith that a favourable ruling from the courts would guarantee my personal safety and ability to express my beliefs”
Poor thing. It sounds like he’s victim. My hand goes out to him—to wave bye bye.
In the south, we would say “Aww bless his heart.”
My hand goes out to him, with a closed fist.
If he believes he cannot freely express himself, he should return to Britain. His opinions are welcome there, and are protected by laws the formerly Judeo-Christian, western civilisation of Britain, wrote for his kind.
Sorta. As an Alien he can be deported for refusal to adhere.to the conditions of his Visa. Playing footsie with terrorists while calling for an intifada (rebellious uprising) is very much on the list of things Aliens may not do and retain permission to remain in the USA.
This well “educated” fool seems unable to understand keeping his mouth shut so he can’t stick his foot in it.
.
Good luck on that whole “freedom of speech” thingie when he goes back to Britain.
And truthfully, had he restricted his Jew hatred to speech and not moved on to action, he might still have that visa.
And its such a poor decision to publicly spew hatred of your hosts while eating their food and sleeping in their beds, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if you’re politely asked to go home.
Given how the UK government is licking the collective boots of the muslim community, his speech would be perfectly acceptable.
He is afraid of being further exposed.
One more Mudslime gone. So many more to go. Self deportation is a wonderful thing.
He didn’t self deport. He was losing his lawsuit. Otherwise he would have gone into the courtroom and demanded his intifada — and gotten it.
he probably has other criminal issues that would be found if he stayed in the usa
Agitator Go Home.
Why would you think that anyone here gives a shit about your political opinions?
Go home and scream to your heart’s content — once you get there.
but he decided to leave the country instead, fearing for his safety
And that is the tell. His claims of persecution are totally bogus. So boot him.
I’m confident we shall all get by and persevere on without this LOSER.
Pavlou is quoted in this article and has 155k followers. He’s from the “new and improved” left wing school of journalism. He reeks of the Ann Applebaum/Timothy Snyder/Jonah Goldberg brand of leftwing neo-conservativism; he’s anti-CCP. Not a difficult stance to adopt and defend.
He’s a repost dope and spouts absurd things like this:
I’d like to see him write a long form essay on this new genre of political thought echoing across left wing media accounts.
lets not continue to overlook the Foreign influence that the left employees against America, which once again is proven as in this and many stories
as opposed to their made up:::::
which is Election Interference…the same thing they claimed as the reason trump won 2016 etc etc
Goodbye dumbass, you never had a right to a Visa it was always a privilege. You abused him it’s gone
If you are not a citizen of the country where you are residing, you should steer clear of politics. It isn’t your country. When I worked in Latin America, I conducted myself accordingly. Had I gotten involved in local politics, I would rightfully have been labeled as an imperialist.
Good.
Piss off you islamofascist yob.
Don’t come back.
Your village is missing it’s idiot.
I promised to help people like this pack up and leave, but it’s April fools so PSYCH
I really didn’t want to Google how to pack up.a very poorly made bomb and not blow yourself up anyways.
A non citizen expecting rights. Don’t let the door hit you in the back side on the way out. We will be better off with out him.
The video of the local news station’s report of the case (contained in the article) is worth watching. The supporters of this deported man warn that everyone else in America may be “next”. It shows the very low level of thinking they engage in.
