UCLA Prof Wants ‘Violent Resistance’ by U.S. Military Against Trump

UCLA prof says ‘violent resistance by our military’ is the ‘only hope’ for America to ‘avoid becoming an ally to Russia’
A professor from the University of California, Los Angeles has seemingly called for “violent resistance by our military” against President Donald Trump.
On March 8, Professor Peter Arenella of UCLA commented on X: “At this point, my only hope for the US to avoid becoming an ally to Russia is a violent resistance by our military. Tragic to say that because the military are trained to avoid any politically motivated intervention.”
He also accused Trump of “Firing all the Joint Chief of Staff military leaders and replacing them with military acolytes of Trump anticipated that possibility and acted swiftly to minimize that type of intervention,” and added: “Ultimately, we will get what we deserve by giving Trump a second chance to destroy our democracy.”
The post has received more than 222,000 views since its publication.
Professor Arenella has made several other inflammatory comments against President Trump.
On March 4, he wrote: “Remember that our military has sworn an oath to protect the very Constitution that Trump and his criminal enablers are tearing down,” and then asked if “some courageous military heroes [will] engage in a counter coup.”
He previously stated that President Trump “might be the ANTI-CHRIST,” and also claimed that: “[i]f history of the US Presidency doesn’t end with a fascist, racist and authoritarian President putting the last nail in the coffin of our democracy, Biden will be remembered for being one of our best leaders.”

A more accurate description is professor emeritus, having retired in 2013 according to the UCLA bio. He graduated from college in 1972 which would put his age around 85.

This prof and his ilk will not be happy until the USA is a full fledged Banana Republic, engaging in politicized justice, military coups, and assassinations. This genius of academia is seriously stating that a military coup is the only way to save democracy.. How can an educated academic be that stupid??! He is horrified that a national election went to the opposition. He was fine with the election of 2020. I have to wonder what the hell is wrong with UCLA? Portland is full of people like him. They went to an anti-war rally in 1970 and for the first time they were happy, and have been chasing that magic first high since then. At every protest you will see a picture with the same 50 people, and you can easily locate them by the yard signs which litter their yard. I’d say they are trying to maintain their relevance, but unlike Hollywood actors, they never had any to begin with.
One day one of them walked by my car and took extreme offense to my “God Bless Our Troops: especially the snipers” bumper sticker. Almost made me want to retrieve the red white and blue “Remember the Alamo” magnetic ribbon from the glove box.
