Universities in West Washington: No ‘Preemptive Actions’ Over DEI

“We will not take any preemptive actions at this time as the letter indicates further guidance will be forthcoming.”

Universities in west Washington, the location of all the leftists, probably won’t do anything regarding DEI.

From King 5:

Universities in Western Washington are taking a measured approach while looking into the potential impacts.

“We remain committed to providing access to excellence for all. We are reviewing the letter to assess its potential impacts on the UW,” the University of Washington said in a statement. “We will not take any preemptive actions at this time as the letter indicates further guidance will be forthcoming.”

Seattle University described the memo as “alarming in what it seems to threaten.” The private university said it wouldn’t make immediate changes while awaiting formal administrative guidance.

At that point, they with either comply if it meets their values or if that’s not possible, consider other legal avenues.

“As a Jesuit Catholic university, Seattle University’s mission calls us to provide the highest quality education to everyone, particularly those who have historically been, and continue to be, excluded from educational opportunity,” the university said.

A spokesperson for Seattle Pacific University said the school is still studying the directive.
