U.S. Hockey Team Wants Trump to Attend Final Against Canada

I wonder if Americans will boo the Canadian national anthem and how many fights will happen.

The U.S. hockey team will face Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament final on Thursday in Boston, MA.

The final will take place less than a week after the U.S. defeated Canada to advance to the game. Canada advanced to the final by beating Finland on Monday.

Before the Americans and Canada started, the Canadians booed the U.S. national anthem (it took place in Montreal).

The Canadians are mad that President Donald Trump refers to the country as the 51st state and calls Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as governor. The threatened tariffs don’t help either.

Then the game began with three intense fights within nine seconds.

Bill Hemmer asked Team U.S.A. general manager Bill Guerin how that happened:

HEMMER: Was there bad blood prior? Was it the booing of the anthem, or do you think it has something to do with the politics of the day between our two countries.

GUERIN: I think a little bit of everything. I mean, Canada, U.S. is a huge rivalry in hockey. I think there was a little bit of a political flare to it. It’s just a time that we’re in, and then I think our guys use that as inspiration. If you let it get the better of you, then you’re in trouble. But I really do think the players use it as inspiration.

Guerin and the team want President Donald Trump to attend the game.

“We would love it if President Trump was in attendance,” Guerin told Fox News. “We have a room full of proud American players and coaches and staff. And listen, we’re just trying to represent the best way we can.”

Guerin and the team want President Donald Trump to attend the game.

It’s really poor form to publicly make such a request. Trump’s time is not unlimited and the hockey team should respect that.

I know they didn’t mean anything by this and just didn’t think about it, but it isn’t right to make such public requests. If Trump had the time to go and decided to, then he would go.

In the end, it’s just a hockey game for some tournament that no one has ever heard of. And we really do NOT do “national teams” in America. That is more European, and the rest of the world. We do professional teams, here.

I hope Trump attends amd USA kicks their butts

News flash: Trump is not a monarch. Public requests like this are the norm is a free society, and no one cares if the request is ignored.

Primordial has hurt feelings and has down voted everyone

Get a life

I never downvote anyone. It’s childish and stupid. If I have something to say when someone makes a stupid comment like you did, here, I say it.

You think my feelings are hurt by blog comments? LOL.

That hockey game was awesome–the USA beat Canada while Trudeau was in attendance. I’d love to see Trump attend the next game in Boston

The game is in Boston and you are wondering whether or not the crowd will boo the Canadian National anthem! LOL You’re kidding?

Hey! Especially not if they play the Black Canadian National Anthem,
It was written by Michael Bublé, and it swings!

100% they will boo. I was at the canada/finland game with a tiny amount of people in usa jerseys and you could hear the boos from the canadian anthem. When they are the majority? Its going to be a lot. The Canadians will also boo. So definitely will see some emotion during the anthems.

I wonder if they will do the anthem for the winning team after the game. I would hope that for the victory anthem either side would not boo. But i wouldn’t be surprised if they do.

Hey why not? I’d love for Trump to attend the game just as he went to Daytona.

I think he should, and invite Trudeau to “be his date”. 😁😜

Oh, and why is a national sports rivalry a bad thing? It’s fun!

Finally, I think well of the Canadians for booing the anthem of their rival. It shows that they support their team!

What I’d love to see is Trump stop this 51st state BS. It is not funny to the repeated target of his joke and may cost conservatives votes in the next election there. Furthermore, we do not need 2 more Democrat Senators, etc.

The truth is that Canada isn’t worthy of being part of the US. They don’t understand or respect freedom. Canadians are subjects and they know it.

I suspect the joke is aimed directly at Fidelito, not your average Canadian on the street. How long has Canada been stuck with him, with no end in sight? Well, guess what? Suddenly, the end is in sight. Anything Trump can do to hasten that is welcome by me.
