Masked Anti-Israel Students Take Over Barnard College Building After Expulsion of Two Others

“footage of the storming of a Barnard campus building, Milbank Hall, shows droves of keffiyeh-clad student radicals shoving their way into a building entrance”

In January, a group of students barged into a Columbia University class on the history of Israel and caused a disturbance. Two of them were students at Columbia’s sister school, Barnard College, and were expelled.

This week, in retaliation for this, a much larger group of similar students took over a building at Columbia and injured a school employee in the process. The standoff ended when the school threatened to bring in the NYPD, but not before they caused all kinds of mayhem.

To make matters worse, the school stupidly tried to negotiate with them.

Jessica Cotescu of the Washington Free Beacon was at the scene:

WATCH: Columbia Radicals Storm Campus Building in Protest of Expelled Barnard Students

A mob of Columbia University and Barnard College students stormed a campus building Wednesday afternoon in protest of the expulsion of two Barnard students.

Video footage of the storming of a Barnard campus building, Milbank Hall, shows droves of keffiyeh-clad student radicals shoving their way into a building entrance, physically clashing with at least two outnumbered Barnard security guards. Once inside, the agitators chanted “free Palestine” and “intifada, revolution.”

The expulsions, announced Sunday by Columbia University Apartheid Divest—the Ivy League’s most notorious anti-Semitic student group—stemmed from a January incident in which four student radicals stormed an Israeli history class and targeted Jewish students with anti-Semitic flyers that glorified Hamas, showed a trampled Star of David, and advocated violence. Columbia promptly suspended at least one student protester involved.

One flyer passed out to Jewish students stated, “THE ENEMY WILL NOT SEE TOMORROW,” using an upside-down triangle—a symbol that Hamas uses to denote Israeli targets—to spell “TOMORROW.” The flyer depicted a truck full of Hamas terrorists brandishing RPGs and machine guns.

How many more times do we have to watch this same thing play out?

This was just embarrassing.

The students were mocking the school for capitulating to them.

Some students just wanted to go to class.

The invaders eventually left.

Harmeet Dhillon, Trump’s pick for civil rights at DOJ, is likely to be confirmed. If she is, we may finally see this issue get addressed in a meaningful way.

From the Washington Free Beacon:

DOJ Will Crack Down on Campus Anti-Semitism, Trump Nominee for Civil Rights Division Says

The Department of Justice will take aggressive action against rising anti-Semitism on college campuses throughout the United States, Harmeet Dhillon said Wednesday at her confirmation hearing for assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division.

“We’ve seen anti-Semitism sweep the nation, and it is very problematic that many people of the Jewish faith are barred by professors and fellow students from access to the classroom,” Dhillon told Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Expel these ones as well. It is well past the time to tolerate such monkeyshines.

Expel them all. Give them a valuable life lesson that actions have consequences.

If they were expelled, they will be back as non-students. They can go to other universities. They will not stop until they are prosecuted and convicted with long jail terms.

They need to keep expelling them until the students get the message

What about foreign students? Can they be returned to their home nations and barred from USA?

I would think that if they are expelled from college/university they’d lose their student visa and no longer have a legal right to stay in the United States so would have to leave. As for being barred from re-entry? That would be up to the federal government to decide.

The fact they have demonstrated their support for a terrorist organization should prevent any future visa approvals. Of course, that would require the Executive branch to actually do its job – which some have certainly not done.

Yes. Once a foreigner is outside the USA the first amendment no longer protects him, and he can be denied a visa for his speech. Known supporters of terrorist organizations are routinely denied visas.

Islamofascist/Muslim terrorist chic. The student fanatics at these universities will continue to engage in their idiotic cosplay, so long as the feckless university administrators accommodate and coddle them and enable their agitprop and antics. As soon as arrests and immediate expulsions happen, you’ll see the students changing their tune, very quickly.

It will take a large number of these Hamas operatives getting badly hurt at the hands of the cops plus being expelled plus where warranted, being deported.

To paraphrase Kurt Russell in Tombstone, “From now on, when you see a kefiyeh over someone’s face, burn it.”

The proper first response to anyone dressed like a terrorist forcing their way in anywhere should be a kinetic response with a wireless hole puncher. This is exactly how many terrorist actions in the past have started.

And no one thought to call 911? How stupid can these administrators be? If any of these demonstrators are foreigners, I would hope the Trump Administration revokes their visas and deports them.

It should be clear that the Columbia University administration is too timid to stand up to these violent radicals. Ditto for the NYPD who think they need Columbia’s permission to enter the campus. A Jewish student under attack should be able to call NYPD for help. Mario Torres and other janitors were held hostage by the radicals. Clearly a felony. Were their captors prosecuted?

What is to be done? Neither Columbia or NYC intend to protect Jewish students. That leaves the Feds. My recommendations:

Cancel all foreign student visas and send them home. Why should American students have to compete with foreigners for admission to our universities? Take action against universities who fail to protect students. No federal money of any kind. Tax endowments.

It should be clear that the Columbia University administration is too timid to stand up to these violent radicals.

I doubt it is because of timidity. They are on the side of the terrorists, and only make feeble gestures to protect Jewish students because they want to avoid bad publicity. It’s hard for the Communists who run most of our universities and colleges to pretend Trump is the new Führer when Jews are being targeted by their own faculty and students.

Were they forced to take the masks off, and photographed?

I;m so tired of this garbage. This is not rocket science.

1) Give protestors one chance to leave.
2) Have them arrested if they don’t Mug shot, fingerprint, and DNA test all
arrested.
3) Prosecute non-affiliated protestors. Deport and ban all non-citizens.
4) Warn all school affiliated protestors on first offense.
5) Suspend all school affiliated protestors on second offense.
6) Expel students, fire teachers and employees on third offense. Ban.
Deport and ban all non-citizens.

And this is being lenient.

Also ban all appropriate campus groups, student and faculty. The faculty is really the problem. It’s long past time to explode the protective bubble that miraculously exists around colleges that protects faculty from any consequences regardless of how offensive their speech and actions are. Why? Because it is highly selective protection. Only certain speech and actions are afforded protection. It also reflects poorly on the college regardless of their automatic statements to that it doesn’t represent the college’s views. It does.

Everyone is entitled to free speech. They are also entitled to reaping the consequences of their speech especially when they are supporting terrorism and threatened people who don’t agree with them.

There aren’t any shouldn’t be consequences for most speech to which everyone is entitled. But this is not speech…it is physical action and thus not protected.

There are plenty of consequences for unapproved free speech. Just ask Amy Wax.

I tell you what. Privatize all public institutions of learning. I don’t want to pay for victimhood courses and departments. I don’t want to pay for the unhinge ranting of overpaid otherwise unemployable whack job faculty, Why should I? I don’t agree with what they say, I don’t want to ban them from saying it but I don’t want to financial support them either. So cut all public financial support and let them put their money where their mouth is for once.

    I wouldn’t expel on 3rd offense. I would expel on 1st offense.
As long as we’re talking threats or action like occupying buildings.

ahad haamoratsim in reply to ztakddot. | February 27, 2025 at 12:36 pm

Skip 5. Proceed directly to 6.

Girls playing fancy dress up. I feel sorry for these spoilt chicks’ future husbands.

This is a private school, meaning that unless the school files a legal complaint, no one from outside can intervene. If they receive any federal funds, they can be stopped, but that is about all the leverage there is. Most liberal college admins agree with the protesters so there is very little push back.

Well, the response expelling the first batch was correct. Continue the correctness and expel this batch too. Let this be a fafo moment for these idiots

Surround the building, bring in enough adults and forcibly remove the kitchen towels off their heads. Take individual pictures and verify that they are a student at one of these schools. If not, to jail they go. The actual students guilty of this just need a good, old fashioned WOODSHED butt whooping! Make them responsible for any damages caused and enlist them to do the repairs, on their time. THEIR FREE NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS WILL NOT BE “FREE” ANYMORE!

First don’t give them audience of any kind. Staff should be instructed to ignore them as if they are not there.

Second, have police secure every entrance to the building in coordination, no one out or in. Would probably necessitate the declaring of an emergency on campus.

Contact INS and ask for them to have agents come to the school, to deal with any immigration issues discovered.

Make this announcement; “Anyone without a class or business in the is building is now warned that you are trespassing. Any student arrested for trespass will be expelled and banned from this university and its premises. Any non-citizen who is expelled who is here on a student Visa there are ICE agents here to help you. You are all adults and will be treated as adults. Adults face consequences of their decisions good and bad. Police will begin making arrests in 15 minutes.”

Now here is the hard part: Actually follow through with it!

This is the best way to handle this kind of situation by a school. OSU showed the way years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__iQGa0OkIs&ab_channel=keepOsuPublic

This is the inevitable consequence of not making it clear that students are customers, not owners of colleges and universities.
Step 7: Make possession of a megaphone a felony punishable by defenestration (fourth floor or higher). Seriously, who has a megaphone lying around their house?

Let the protestor keep Barnyard College! No good comes out of that school.

Let what happens to Barnyard be a warning to other colleges.

Hi college friends. The word Mr. Rogers has for all you Jew-hating “neighbors” today is “de-por-ta-tion.” Can you say “de-por-ta-tion”?

‘Threaten to call the police’? They should have been called straightaway. These people should have all been arrested and prosecuted.

It’s obvious that the administration and faculty of these institutions sympathize with the terrorists so they should have the opportunity to demonstrate their loyalty by making do without Federal funding. This would be well publicized so that those who choose to attend these schools anyway will be able to achieve professional martyrdom when applying for positions for the rest of their careers.
