Iowa Public Universities Return to Two Sexes: ‘Basic Biological Reality’
Applicants had these choices: “agender, cisgender, man, nonbinary, transgender, woman, another gender not listed above, and prefer not to answer.”

The three public universities in Iowa have eliminated the multiple gender options to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order.
From The College Fix:
The applications now ask students to identify their sex by choosing male, female, or “prefer not to answer,” The Gazette reports. The public universities in the state are the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and University of Northern Iowa.
Prior to the changes, the application for the University of Iowa allowed students to choose from “at least seven different genders,” according to a report on the Iowa Board of Regents website.
The options were: “agender, cisgender, man, nonbinary, transgender, woman, another gender not listed above, and prefer not to answer,” according to The Gazette.
Prompting the change was a letter from Iowa Rep. Taylor Collins, R-Mediapolis, and Sen. Lynn Evans, R-Aurelia, to the Board of Regents on Feb. 10.
“As part of President Trump’s Restoring Sanity Agenda, he has made it the official policy of the United States that there are only two genders — male and female,” they wrote, according to a copy of the letter published on the regents’ website.
The lawmakers asked the regents to “adopt the same policy outlined by President Trump” and end “contrary practices” such as listing multiple gender options on their admissions applications.
“If we have recognized anything since the last election, Americans and Iowans are ready for a return to sanity, and that begins with recognizing this basic biological reality,” they wrote.

Let’s see. Man and woman were choices. Cisgender was a separate choice, so you could be a man or cisgender but not both. Gay, lesbian, and livestock-attracted were not choices.
