Trump Inauguration Moved Indoors Due to Dangerous Cold Weather
The wind chills will be in the single digits.
Well, Kemberlee and I won’t be at the inauguration.
The dangerously cold weather forced President-elect Donald Trump to move his inauguration inside the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. He wrote on Truth Social:
January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself. The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).
Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather. The various Dignitaries and Guests will be brought into the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience!
We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In.
All other events will remain the same, including the Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, on Sunday at 3 P.M. (Doors open at 1 P.M.—Please arrive early!), and all three Inaugural Balls on Monday evening.
Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Inaugurations aren’t, “Swearing-in is at Noon, everyone show up at 10:30.” He’s right that there are going to be lots of people standing out there way before the ceremony begins and for a bunch of them, for many hours afterward because of the parade. This type of weather is not very common for the DC area and it’s better to take some of the stress off the military, law enforcement, and first responders not just to keep them from personally having problems due to the cold but also to keep them from having to respond to scores of attendees and parade participants, many of whom won’t or don’t have the proper attire.

I think from day one, he should have said, “We will do the ceremony in the Capitol building, then I’m heading to the Oval to get to work.” Would have set an example of what he intends to do and would have contrasted with the current regime. And would have saved a boatload of money.

1) The Dow always goes up over time, because of inflation inflating stock value in dollars if for no other reason.
2) Oil production that doesn’t keep track with oil consumption is insufficient. And the reason why we went from self sufficient with low energy costs back to importer with high energy costs setting off inflationary prices on everything and funneling our money to nations that hate us.
3) after voluntarily crippling our economy with a never-ending “slow the spread” 2 week shutdown – which based on comparisons between states and nations with differing levels of Covid panic wasn’t necessary – a return to where we were is not job creation so much as jobs returning. Though checking Wikipedia tells me that this is a misconception. Apparently he survived the cold weather at his inauguration just fine, despite the 2-hour speech, but caught his death by going out in another rainstorm 20 days later and then not changing out of his wet clothes, and died 10 days after that.
