From Butter Cookies to The Gulf of Texas: — Episode 19: Legal Insurrection Podcast
California on fire, the political fallout, free speech shakeups, and wild ideas for America’s expansion
What do butter cookies, Greenland, and The Gulf of Texas have in common?
We’re breaking it all down with this week’s hottest headlines (no pun intended). We dive into the Palisades Fire and its devastating political fallout, which has left leaders like Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom scrambling to manage the backlash. Meanwhile, in legislative news, the Laken Riley Act has cleared the House, and with the Senate likely to follow suit, we explore what this could mean for the future.
Meta has made waves by dropping its fact-checkers and pledging to embrace free speech—a bold move that has us wondering why now? In a surprising turn of events, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has resigned as Liberal Party leader, sparking speculation about what’s next for Canada and their inferior bacon.
We discuss America’s northward expansion, revisit the possibility of acquiring Greenland, and are all for renaming the Gulf of Mexico. Panama is not to be forgotten.

Economic mistake: aid sent overseas always results in US jobs because a dollar says only what the US economy does next, presumably something for you.
If a dollar stays overseas, it’s a gift to the US Treasury, which can simply print another dollar to replace it, until such time as it returns as purchase of some US good or as investment in the US.
