Sen. McConnell Trips, Sprains Wrist After Fall During GOP Lunch

McConnell sparked health scares last year when he froze and lost the ability to speak.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, 82, tripped and fell after a Senate GOP lunch on Tuesday.

McConnell cut his face and sprained his wrist.

McConnell’s spokesperson, Doug Andres, said medical personnel cleared the senator to work.

Andres did not explain what caused the fall. However, he reminded reporters that McConnell “has a weak left leg and has occasionally taken a spill because of lasting effects from polio.”

McConnell sparked health scares last year when he froze and lost the ability to speak.

In July, McConnell had an episode in front of reporters during his weekly press conference.

He couldn’t speak, forcing Sen. John Barrasso to lead him away. Microphones caught Barrasso asking him, “Hey Mitch, anything else you want to say? Or should we just go back to your office? Do you want to say anything else to the press?”

The next month, McConnell froze again at a podium in northern Kentucky.

He needs to retire already. He’s 82 and his brain is misfiring like his pal, Brandon. He won’t, of course, because he’s addicted to power and screwing the same voters that give him power.

It’s ridiculous he has t retired

“He needs to retire already.”

Problem is that the Kentucky Gov. is a Dem., so when McConnell goes, it’s another Dem. Senator.

Another Republican could have won his last go around.
He’s not going to last till the next election

No, it isn’t. Anticipating something happening to him, McConnell got the state legislature to change the law so the governor must choose the replacement from a list of three names submitted by the outgoing senator’s party. So if he were to retire now his replacement would be guaranteed to be a Republican.

Are we sure it wasn’t “exercise bands”?

No, there were witnesses, so we know he actually did fall. Not like Reid, who was probably beaten up by some mafia person.

Concur – its fairly common to fall at that age. Its also become a standard question on health exams (once reaching age 65ish).

I cant comment on Reid, though there were indications that Milhouse’s speculation is likely true.

      Sarcasm isn’t your strong suit.

it maybe he is waiting to c if KY can elect a GOP gov. his mind/body may not hold out that long.
i salute the senator for keeping us from
Garlin in the SC… i thank him for sheparding many nominations thru the senate. but it is time to retire sir.

I liked Garlin in Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Goldbergs. I’m glad Mitch didn’t send him to South Carolina, too, but Mitch should have exited over a decade ago.

He doesn’t need a Republican governor. Beshear would have no choice but to appoint a Republican in his place.

McConnell is going to stay in the Senate and work to thwart President Trump and conservatives until the day the post-turtle finally falls face-flat into his plate of spaghetti and drowns, unable to lift his head out.

They told him not to drink that fourth bourbon and branch.

He was probably just adjusting to his new bifocals.

The 82 year old poster child for term limits AND a mandatory retirement age.

Should we cut him in half and count the rings?

The nation need not worry….he didn’t sprain the wrist he uses to hoist his bourbon glass….
