Screaming Match Erupts in House Hearing Over Trump Assassination Attempts
Rowe deflects hard-hitting questions from Fallon over security lapses, sparking House hearing chaos.
During a House hearing on Thursday, tensions erupted between Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe and Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) over the agency’s handling of two assassination attempts on President-elect Donald Trump.
Fallon criticized the Secret Service for security lapses, highlighting an incident in which the President and Vice President were possibly left unguarded during a 9/11 memorial event. Rowe defended his actions, emphasizing his service on 9/11 and denying that his presence compromised security.

Fallon: Who is usually at an event like this closest to the President of the United States, security-wise?
Rowe: The SAC of the detail, special agent in charge of the detail.
Fallon: Were you the special agent in charge of the detail that day?
Rowe: Actually, let me address this. … So actually, Congressman, what you’re not seeing is the sack of the detail off, out of the picture view. And that is the day where we remember the more than 3,000 people that have died on 9/11. I actually responded to Ground Zero. I was there going through the ashes of the World Trade Center. …
Fallon: I’m not asking you that. I’m asking you, were you the special agent in charge?
They then got into a screaming match.
The House task force is expected to release a report with findings and recommendations by December 13. This report will provide further insights into the agency’s preparedness and response to threats against high-profile individuals.

Methinks that Mr. Rowe needs to hit Joe up for one of those unconditional pardons
Mr Rowe needs his ass kicked clear out of the Secret Service, and he can be a security guard at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. Pompous ass.
What do you have against Ollie’s Bargain Outlet?
Maybe he should team up with Christopher Wray, and mow lawns. Or would an honest day’s work kill them?
That’s a pretty short fuse for someone whose job requires calmness in dangerous circumstances.
“How dare you talk to me like that! Don’t you know who I am?”
He’s trying to hop on the pardon bandwagon
Don’t you know where I was 23 years ago?!?
Childish tantrum was an obvious attempt to distract and avoid questions. I see that all the time. But looking at this punk, I start to wonder, does he have a Mohawk? Can’t he afford a decent haircut on the money the government wastes on his over the top compensation?
Rowe should have been fired for incompetence a long time ago
+1000
Fired like a North Korean general.
The adults are not in the room
I’m not sure, but my understanding is that Rowe probably did not “respond[] to Ground Zero”. From what I understand, many secret service personnel were called, but to the Fresh Kills landfill to sort through debris.
In any event, what Rowe did or did not do on 9/11 is irrelevant. He pushed the SAC out of position in order to be in the photo with the worst criminal, and biggest retard, to ever occupy the Oval Office. It also seems that he lied to Congress in that testimony claiming that he had a radio (he has no earpiece on) and probably that he was carrying, also.
Rowe is a worm of the lowest order and his antics in this hearing should be enough to have him thrown off of the Earth. He is total scum, like his boss and his boss’ boss.
I saw this exchange live as unfolded, needless to say it was not what I expected. Perhaps Rowe and his team needs to bring that passion to every task. Mark Green also had an inspiring statement about the state of the Secret Service.
Bottom line, the agency is full of apathy for the tasks they are assigned.
It’s quite clear to me that each and every employee of the USSS needs to be summarily fired, the agency closed and never spoken about again. Mr. Trump has his own security – you’ll recall that he retained them in his first administration – for the time being until a new agency can be formed.
What the USSS did during this last campaign was inexcusable and unforgivable.
Strip protection from the Secret Service, limiting them once again to treasury crimes, and give the Marines the responsibility.
How about that — an unelected federal bureaucrat lays into an ELECTED U.S. legislator. The sad part is that he will get away with it.
Try that crap in the private sector?? Pink-slip city, baby!
How does Ronald Rowe’s appearance in the photo matter?
If he weren’t there, and had been in headquarters instead, some other dignitary would have been standing in that spot for the 9/11 commemoration.
I think the point is that is if he was the agent in charge, he should have been elsewhere on the scene, and not posing for photos with dignitaries.
But he said he wasn’t the agent in charge. He wasn’t there in his capacity as a presidential bodyguard. He was there in his capacity as someone who was involved in the aftermath of the attack. Someone else was the agent in charge, and he’s standing just outside the frame of the original photo. Hence the second photo that shows the agent.
That spot should have been the special agent in charge, who is part of the active protection detail. It is a working position. Rowe was there as a tourist, basically, and he put the agent working closest to the Retard away.
Frankly, for Traitor Joe I couldn’t care less, but this is about Rowe and the fact that he didn’t want to answer the question.
This idiot simply does not have the bearing of a leader. He’s in so far over his head even he understands it, which is what drives his reflexive hostility. Competent leaders don’t respond this way to tough questions. In fact, they invite it. He has to go.
Rowe is just another of the many thousand greasy pole climbers who inhabit our government.
Has President Trump named his replacement yet? If not, I’m sure he will soon.
There will be a delicious moment the last week of January when President Trump summons Mr. Rowe into his office and says “Ronny, you’re FIRED!”
You had a former POTUS, and current Leading Candidate (who ended up winning) getting hit by a bullet, then a second attempt later, while you were one of the guys in charge.
You should be the LAST person in the room talking or pushing back. If you had an ounce of integrity there would have been major firings followed by your own resignation.
If EVERY member of Congress wants to dress you down for your abject failure you need to man up and sit there and take it.
I dont know who the next Head of the Secret Service is going to be, but I hope his first action is to start a criminal probe into these events and starts nailing people to the wall.
Hi. I know I’m about to be under investigation and be fired so let me get into a screaming match with a Congressman to get my street creds for a job on MSNBC
I have to agree with Ace of Spades: Rowe plans to run for office and deliberately started a shouting match so he could use the footage in campaign commercials.

So that’s what you were doing 23 years ago, Can you remember what you were doing this year?
There was one point that multiple House members from both sides of the aisle could agree upon, Secret Service does not belong under the direction of the already over tasked Homeland Security Department, many also believe FEMA needs to be removed form that Department as well.
Having Mayorkas in charge of both and the border is a lost cause.
It’s really a simple rule: the one who’s changing the subject, and bringing up irrelevancies, is dishonest. That’s at the core of most logical fallacies.
