Rep. Van Drew Suggests Iranian ‘Mothership’ Off East Coast ‘Launched Drones’ Over New Jersey
“They’ve launched drones. Everything that we can see or hear and again, these are from high sources. I don’t say this lightly.”
Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) told Harris Faulkner that confidential sources suggested the drones over New Jersey came from an Iranian mothership.
Drones have been spotted over New Jersey since right after the election. The FAA shut down the airspace over the Trump National Golf Club and Picatinny Arsenal military research and manufacturing facility in Morris County.
Here’s the exchange:
FAULKNER: In focus now, Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, member of the House Judiciary Committee on the hill right now. How do you address this at this point?
VAN DREW: Well, here’s the real deal, Harris. I’m also on the Transportation Committee, on the Aviation Subcommittee, and I’ve gotten to know people. And from very high sources, very qualified sources, very responsible sources, I’m going to tell you the real deal. Iran launched a mothership probably about a month ago that contains these drones. That mothership is off…I’m going to tell you the deal. It’s off the east coast of the United States of America. They’ve launched drones. Everything that we can see or hear and again, these are from high sources. I don’t say this lightly.
Now, we know there was a probability it could have been our own government. We know it’s not our own government because they would have let us know.
It could have been some really glorified hobbyist or hobbyist that are doing something unbelievable. They don’t have the technology, but let’s pretend that’s possible.
A third possibility with somebody, an adversarial country doing this. Know that Iran made a deal with China to purchase drones, motherships, and technology in order to go forward.
The sources I have are good. They can’t reveal who they are because they are speaking to me in confidentiality.
These drones should be shot down. Whether it was some crazy hobbyists that we can’t imagine or whether it is Iran, and I think it very possibly could be, they should be shot down. We are not getting the full deal, and the military is on alert with this.
FAULKNER: Look, you’ve given us some pretty dire information just here, and I want to make sure that our viewers are digesting this. Iran has the capability to pull up along our eastern seaboard and launch drones the size of an SUV into the skies of several states, particularly New Jersey, where we know the incoming president has a large home. Also in the same county or nearby where some of these drones in New Jersey have been seen. That capability exists. It’s possible some of those drones are here.
So I have two questions. How are they fueling them? They have to land somewhere. Drones don’t fly forever. Why don’t they close down the airspace? Yes, it’s inconvenient. Yes, it’s the holidays. Shut it down. But if you start shooting things and you don’t know how they’re fueled, that’s going to be mass explosions. This isn’t like one spy balloon. Congressman, this is serious.
VAN DREW: We’ve got to bring them down and we’ve got to find a way to bring them down. I don’t know exactly where they’re landing. Obviously, I have some. Information. And again, this isn’t just Jeff Van Drew saying, “Oh, let’s get on Harris Faulkner’s show and say something outrageous.” I’m telling you a straight deal from very high positioned individuals who are telling me this. And the bottom line is they’re launching them. They are across the country. We don’t even have anything like this. Our government and also certainly our hobbyists don’t. So think about it.
Not only do I have the information, but it’s also common sense we’ve got. To get them down. We’ve got to determine how they function, what they do. Make sure that we can get them. And you’re right, in a safe way. When I say shoot. Them down. Get them down any way that you can. But right now they’re probably extracting information. This is a clear and present danger to the United states and through our president elect and it’s a serious business
(I laughed so hard when he said, “We know it’s not our own government because they would have let us know.” Does anyone honestly believe that?! I don’t.)

Beam me up, Scottie.
I’m giving her all she’s got, Captain!
Bean me up Alex Jones.
Many of us here would be happy to bean you up.
If this is true, not only can’t the US defend itself, it literally helps Iran fund these operations. My guess is that it’s true but the Biden Administration can’t admit it publicly.
U.S. Northern Command issued a statement this afternoon that emphatically states that they haven’t been requested to task any resources to this issue. So, this means one of two things. The first possibility is that these drones are being operated by the FedGov for reasons unknown (if they don’t want to acknowledge, they’re probably doing something that’s borderline illegal). The second possibility is that this truly is some foreign adversary and per usual, the Biden Administration is simply asleep at the wheel just as they were with the spy balloon. The more information that is uncovered, the more I lean towards foreign adversary.
Either the government knows what’s going on and they’re covering it up. Or else they don’t know what’s going on and that’s an even bigger issue.
This sounds like the real deal, the straight poop, hot off the press, and coming from people really high up and in a position to know. In other words, it’s completely useless.
Iranian “Mothership?” A real ocean-going ship? If so, we must know precisely where it is and what it’s doing.
Oh, wait–biden’s still president…
Moron. Iranian drones would not have FAA regulation lighting. These are airplanes, NJians should stop smoking so much weed.
The obvious way to stop the flight is not to shoot down the drones (a dangerous prospect over or near a civilian population), but to sink the mothership. (Pretty sure “ship” means an actual, floating ship, as in a maritime vessel. Although there are aircraft that can launch drones, the drones can’t be recovered and the congressman’s language suggests the “ship” is positioned or loitering off the coast, and not merely “appearing” off the coast for limited periods of time, as would an aircraft.)
Sounds like a job for the Cajun Navy, go sink that mothership like a bunch of Somali pirates, unofficial state actors.
see below. They are easy to manufacture and with the flood of Arduino boards and sensors an enterprising individual could improve upon a concept and make it sound, light, motion, or heat-seeking.
Take a hint from Hadji and improve thereupon.
A few KNO³/powdered sugar rockets fired off at them when over unoccupied territory will raise the ire of both the owner and our government.
“It could have been some really glorified hobbyist or hobbyist that are doing something unbelievable. They don’t have the technology, but let’s pretend that’s possible.”
Because civilians are pretty backward, right, Elon?
Get a couple thousand garage mechanics with homemade HERF guns up and down the coast, and the drone problem is solved. And if the relevant authorities don’t take care of the issue relatively soon, the private sector just may have to go that way.
Obama just confirmed that the Father Ship is from Kenya and that the drones grew up in Malaysia and Hawaii.
