Israel Gears Up for Military Response as Hezbollah Violates Ceasefire
Prime Minister Netanyahu: “Israel will respond forcefully” to Hezbollah’s “serious violation” of ceasefire.
Israel is gearing up for a ‘decisive’ military response after a major ceasefire violation by the Hezbollah terrorist group.
After carrying out several violations since the Biden administration-backed ceasefire came into effect on November 27, the Iran-sponsored terrorist group on Monday fired two mortars on the Golan Heights in northern Israel.
Hezbollah “launched two projectiles toward the area of Har Dov,” the IDF confirmed a statement Monday afternoon. “The projectiles fell in open areas. No injuries are reported.”

The Israeli government vowed to retaliate against the blatant ceasefire breach by the Lebanon-based terrorist group. “Israel will respond forcefully” to Hezbollah’s “serious violation” of the ceasefire, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was preparing a swift military response, the Israeli news website YNET reported:
The IDF Operations and Intelligence Directorates have developed a contingency plan for a decisive response to cease-fire violations by Hezbollah, security officials said after the terrorist group fired two mortar rounds at Mount Dov on Monday evening, its first such attack since the cease-fire took effect last week.
The officials said the decision to act now rests with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. “Failing to respond forcefully to the first violation will drag us into a war of attrition,” warned a senior IDF official involved in the planning.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, describing it as a “defensive warning.” In a statement, the group accused Israel of multiple cease-fire breaches, including airstrikes, attacks on civilians and violations of Lebanese airspace.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the attack a “serious violation of the cease-fire” and vowed a strong response. “We are determined to continue enforcing the cease-fire and to respond to every Hezbollah violation, no matter how minor or severe,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
Defense Minister Katz voiced a similar threat. “We promised to act against any Hezbollah violations of the cease-fire, and that is exactly what we will do. What was will no longer be,” he said.
The IDF will respond ‘decisively’ to the blatant Hezbollah violations. “We will respond decisively to Hezbollah’s severe violation of the ceasefire —and will continue to do so,” IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said Monday. “We have plans and targets ready to be carried out and at any given moment,” he assured.
There were unconfirmed reports of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon.

The news comes just days after Hamas released a propaganda video featuring 20-year-old Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander. Alexander, a former resident of Tenafly, NJ, was abducted by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, and has been in captivity for 424 days.
The three-minute disturbing video was aimed at pressing the incoming Trump administration into securing a ceasefire deal for Hamas in Gaza.

Perhaps Israel can use that sinister new weapon that vaporizes combatants.
At the moment, Northern Israel is under rocket warnings and IDF is striking targets in Southern Lebanon. The ‘ceasefire’ is dunzo. Hezbollah, like the PLO for decades, never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity.
I think Trump answered Hamas with his statement. The terrorists are dealing with an entirely different animal than the muslim loving outlaw weak Biden regime. I’m actually surprised that the corporate press has up until this point ignored the fact that American Citizens are being held hostage by the terrorists. No longer.
Gee, nobody saw that one coming..
Were any betting sites were giving odds on when (not if) Hezbollah would violate the cease-fire?
Trump will give the green light for Israel to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities. Probably even offer help if they need it.
Any “ceasefire” or other agreement with goose-stepping, genocidal and evil Islamofascists/terrorists/Muslim supremacists is worthless.
We have only 1,400-plus years of ample historical evidence to support that premise. Apparently, nearly 1.5 millennia are insufficient to convince the leftist dhimmis and Dhimmic-crats that you cannot make deals with these reprobates.
Hezbollah has to be rooted out and driven out of the country. The country has to have the will to accept help and cooperate to work on making it happen or it will never happen.
Not happening. The Shi’a people in southern Lebanon support Hezbollah; they’ve been beneficiaries of the Iranian/Syrian/Hezbollah largesse over the last several decades. They won’t turn their backs on Hezbollah, though from time to time they do run for their lives.
Also recall that Israel occupied southern Lebanon for a time in the 1980s; it didn’t go well.
