Downfall of the Ivy League Week in Education

Downfall of the Ivy League Week in Education

Your weekly report on education news.

It should be noted that what is happening to the Ivy League has been entirely self-inflicted.

And it’s not just the Ivies.

The anti-Israel stuff is a major part of it.

An excellent question.

They won’t let this go.

Good move.

Very interesting development.

Give me a break.

What a shame.

Good news.

Merry Christmas!

Why is “Princeton” misspelled “Princton”?

The image at top showing the 8 members of the Ivy League misspells Princeton.

Time to do something instead of complaining. I propose: establish a new tech college offering an education in electrical, mechanical, chemical, and aeronautical engineering. Plus physics, chemistry and material science along with mathematics and computer science. Open only to resident American citizens. No foreign students. Note the math department will concentrate on applied mathematics useful for science and engineering. No more steering math students into some narrow branch of abstract algebra.

This new college can start off as an online and eventually mature into a conventional college. Raid existing universities of their top technical talent by offering them an institution free of DEI, speech codes. and other awful academic politics. All students selected strictly on merit using a test and interviews conducted by the new college itself. As American higher education is rapidly degenerating something must arise to fill the vacuum.

BTW my daughter was accepted to three of the above ivies along with other highly selective universities. Today they would all reject her. White, Jewish, middle class, patriotic and conservative. Need I say more?

I’ve been a Texas lawyer for 52 years, have tried upwards of 75 jury trials, and there’s been a sameness about opposing lawyers from Ivy League schools. In the very beginning I was fearful of them. But, they’re smug, arrogant and underprepared. Juries, much like the recent electorate, can “smell” when someone is talking down to them and it never went over well. They became my favorite opponents.

I’ve always had a lot more respect for the lawyer that earned his way by sweating it out in night school at a place like southwestern or similar. Ivy League schools only have two things going for them: they’re outrageously expensive, and the name on the diploma has snob value.
