Tufts U. in Damage Control Over Claim They Cut Ties With Rep. Seth Moulton Over Trans Comments
“We have reached out to Congressman Moulton’s office to clarify that we have not–and will not–limit internship opportunities with his office”
We recently noted that Massachusetts Democrat Congressman Seth Moulton found himself in hot water after he commented that he didn’t want his young daughters to be injured by playing sports with boys. One of his top staffers resigned over the comments.
Now, there are reports swirling that someone at Tufts University in Massachusetts communicated to Moulton’s office that they would no longer facilitate student internships with his office.
Incredible. The political science department chair at Tufts University called Rep. Seth Moulton’s office on Friday and said the department would no longer “facilitate internship opportunities for students” with his office.
What an outrageous violation of his duty to students. pic.twitter.com/AA1jLUKnEh

Reactions were harsh.
Man, I really hope this admin goes scorched earth on higher ed. They really, really deserve it. https://t.co/Ske5SHeRJe

Man, I can't wait to see endowments taxed.
These are no longer neutral institutions and are happy to throw their weight around solely for leftwing policies. Time for some fairness. pic.twitter.com/4dUpdDS7FW

Someone at Tufts caught wind of this and said it is not accurate.
We have reached out to Congressman Moulton's office to clarify that we have not–and will not–limit internship opportunities with his office.

We remain committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives, and our Career Center will continue to provide students with a wide range of employment opportunities across the political and ideological spectrum.

FOX 25 in Boston reports:
Tufts refutes CNN reporter’s post that it is breaking ties with Moulton over transgender comments
Tufts University on Tuesday refuted a CNN reporter’s social media post that the school is breaking ties with Rep. Seth Moulton’s office over his recent comments about transgender athletes.
“We have reached out to Congressman Moulton’s office to clarify that we have not–and will not–limit internship opportunities with his office,” Tufts said in a statement to Boston 25 on Tuesday morning. “We remain committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives, and our Career Center will continue to provide students with a wide range of employment opportunities across the political and ideological spectrum.”
The school’s statement came shortly after CNN Capitol Hill reporter Sarah Ferris wrote in a post on X: “Interesting: Tufts is breaking ties with Rep. Seth Moulton’s office over his comments on trans athletes, telling the office not to contact Tufts about future internships, per person familiar with the matter.”
Even the liberal Boston Globe is coming to Moulton’s defense on this:
Seth Moulton isn’t backing down. Good.
The reaction to Representative Seth Moulton’s comments last week about transgender athletes is simply proving his point: The left has a real problem if it can’t even debate one of the big reasons for its election flop without trying to cancel its own.
The controversy started when Moulton told a reporter that he would be uncomfortable with his daughters being “run over” on a playing field by a competitor who was male or born male.
Whether it’s fair for transgender women to play on women’s teams is a mainstream concern, shared by about 70 percent of Americans. But as Moulton noted, “as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.”…
Transgender athletes have become a flashpoint in part because many Democrats have adopted such extreme positions. Many believe that not only should trans girls play under any circumstances but that dissenters should be canceled as bigots. It’s an irresistible, and frankly easy, target for Republicans.
And it’s working: According to Democratic polling firm Blueprint, the idea that Vice President Kamala Harris “is focused more on cultural issues like transgender issues rather than helping the middle class” was the third most important reason voters didn’t choose Harris — and the number one issue for swing voters that chose Trump.
Democrats have a serious problem here. Many people in the party know this is a losing issue for them, but their base voters will not tolerate anything but ideological purity on the topic.
At some point, one side is going to win the battle. If it’s the progressive wing, Democrats will see more losses in their near future.

Hilarious.
Tufts shit, too late.
Tufts supports the political spectrum from left wing to ultra left wing
Any time this comes up the person demanding that trannies play on girl’s sports teams should watch the basketball play where a 6 foot + male/girl slams a girl defender to the floor and as it turned out, two other girls had to leave the game because of him. But the real value is to see how absurd it is to say they are equal. He is a big man who dominates the court and looks like he should be a coach, not a player.
So where does Tufts say they have fired this David Art person? Did I somehow overlook it?
He will have tenure and thus can’t be fired. It’s a (custom? tradition? practice? rule?) at universities that is supposed to prevent professors from being pressured for taking unpopular stances, or researching things that go against the Overton Window of the day. It’s a good thing at its roots.
However Professor Art does get to speak FOR the University. At least somebody at Tufts does’t want to “be on the wrong side” of the future as it looks after the election.
To be fair, poly-sci is a joke department filled with pretty much nothing but retarded losers who couldn’t even make it in psychology.
It sounds to me like Tufts should be excluded.
Two janitors are chatting during their break. One says to the other, “funny that you’re a psychology major. I’m a political science major.”
The battle of the bulge
If we are truly fortunate the democrat party will splinter into myriad factions each hating the others. Then they can never again hold office at any level of government/
