Trump Nominates Former WI Rep. Sean Duffy for Transportation Secretary

“Admired across the aisle, Sean worked with Democrats to clear extensive Legislative hurdles to build the largest road and bridge project in Minnesota History.”

President-elect Donald Trump nominated former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy for Secretary of Transportation.

“Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District,” said Trump. “During his time in Congress, Sean was a respected voice and communicator in the Republican Conference, advocating for Fiscal Responsibility, Economic Growth, and Rural Development. Admired across the aisle, Sean worked with Democrats to clear extensive Legislative hurdles to build the largest road and bridge project in Minnesota History.”

Duffy earned a B.A. from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

In 1997, Duffy was on MTV’s The Real World: Boston. He met his now-wife Rachel Campos when they co-starred on Road Rules: All Stars. She appeared on The Real World: San Francisco in 1994.

They’ve been married since 1999 and have nine children. She works as a co-host on Fox & Friends Weekend.

Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District is the state’s largest district, which Duffy represented for nine years.

Duffy resigned in 2019 after he and his wife discovered their unborn child had a heart defect.

Valentina was born on October 1 and diagnosed with Down Syndrome.

Duffy started contributing to Fox News in 2020. He also co-hosts The Botton Line on Fox Business with Dagen McDowell.

Since large city mass transit are dysfunctional, it is time to cut all Federal funding. It does not make sense to continue flushing money into city cesspools.

Say what you want, but he’s guaranteed to be infinitely better than the current Secretary of Transportation. That’s a profoundly low bar, of course, but still …

I see all of Trump’s choices better than what we have of Biden’s present picks that were approved by most of the Senate. I would expect all of the Republican Senators to back Trump choices.
