Trump Made Yuge Gains in Illinois, Flipped Ward in Chicago for First Time Since 1992
Maybe some sanity is returning to my home state?
President-elect Donald Trump had the best showing for a Republican presidential candidate in Illinois since 1992, including flipping a ward with immigrants.
I missed this because I paid attention to the Senate.

Trump won the 41st Ward, 54% to 45%. This is the first time a GOP candidate has won the ward since 1992.

Look at one of the precincts.
Over 90% of the residents of Ward 11 P7 are Asian, and many others are immigrants from other countries.
The most fascinating statistic for me about Trump's performance in Chicago. One of his best precincts is Chinatown. Illinois would be a red state without Chicago.
I’m still shocked that VP Kamala Harris only won Illinois by four points.
Not only that! Trump increased his Illinois votes in each election:
- 2016: 38.36%
- 2020: 40.55%
- 2024: 45%
President George H.W. Bush is the last president to win Illinois.
Democrats have won the state by double digits since then…until Harris.
Again, I’m not getting my hopes up because Illinois consistently loses people who are tired of the overbearing, corrupt government.

Yeah, I have to constantly remind people that Illinois and Chicago are two different things.
Ask any gun-owner RVing on any interstate that goes through Illinois to explain what the difference is.
My mother had stories of their Chicago alderman handing out $5 bills and tickets for free beer at the local taverns.
Now that I think about it, $5 seems like a lot for those days; maybe I am misremembering.
The way “Jim Bob” Pritzker is talking I am sure President Trump will be having fun make his life hell for the next 4 yrs.
So, what does ‘Yuge’ mean??
Trump got 40% of the vote in NM in 2016. 43% of the vote in 2020 and 46% of the vote in 2024. New Mexico democrats are starting to sweat.
Maybe the Harris campaign should have taken notice of the black residents angrily screaming at the Alderman over illegals being dumped in their neighborhood. I’m all the way across the country and I saw it.

I am also shocked that you forgot basic math. You reported that Trump won 45% in Ill, which is also what PJM and NYT report. But the margin is not 45-49, but 45-54. Kamala won Ill by 9 points.
