Somali Leaders in Minnesota Endorse Trump: ‘We Can’t Afford Anything’
“Now please understand this, we love our brothers and sisters who are Democrats, but you left us.”
In a stunning development this weekend, a group of Somali leaders in Minnesota held a press conference and endorsed Donald Trump for president. Minnesota has the largest Somali community in the country.
The speakers at the press conference cite the same issues that we have heard from every corner of the country, including crippling inflation, freedom of speech, and failing schools.
Minnesota has not gone red in a presidential election since Nixon in 1972, so the chances of that happening again are slim, but that does not take away from the gravity of this endorsement.
Ward Clark of RedState provides a couple of key quotes from the speakers:
Most importantly, the left left us. 33 percent of our kids cannot read – cannot read at grade level. Minnesota in education? We are failing in every standard. 8th graders – 60 percent cannot do math at grade level. These are our kids. We are talking about economic conditions here. Our conditions is (sic) horrible. We can’t afford anything. As working-class and middle-class people. Now please understand this, we love our brothers and sisters who are Democrats, but you left us. And because the left left us, join the right, and vote for Trump, 2024.
I’m a person of deep Muslim faith. I have Abrahamic religion. I love my Jewish brothers and sisters. I love my Christian brothers and sisters. People come from different communities and backgrounds. We’re all the same. We live in a country where we should be working together. Not hurting each other, not defaming each other. We should be protecting the rights of every person to speak. Because today if I am supporting the censorship of a segment of this country, guess what, tomorrow I will be censored too. And I don’t want that for myself or for my family. And that’s why, it’s surprising to say, Trump is kind of an a**hole. He says a lot of things, he’s not the nicest person in the room, he’s not going to sugar-coat things for you. But guess what, the four years he was president, nothing happened to me personally. I was safe, this community was safe. This country was safe.

It’s fun to think about the possibility of Trump flipping Minnesota, no matter how unlikely it may be. It would be a massive embarrassment to the Democrats and particularly the Harris campaign, given her running mate is the sitting governor of the state.

I will be waiting with bated breath for Ilhan Omar’s comments.
Is there any chance at all she could actually lose to an opponent, assuming she has one?
IIRC she had an opponent in the primary but she crushed him.
Ilhan has been very quiet these past few months. I have worked and for a while spoke at Somali conventions. Segregated seating. And, education is a two-way operation. Students must respect teachers. It is the teacher’s responsibility to teach but it is also
the student’s responsibility to pay attention, not criticize and do the work.
I suspect more than just d/prog brains are exploding over Minnesota Muslims publicly endorsing Trump and MAGA.
But, but… Trump is a racist and an islamaphobe, right? Right?
Isn’t it interesting how large and diverse a coalition the supposedly ‘ist/ism/phobe’ ridden Trump is able to assemble in opposition to the wokiesta left? And all by simply calling for putting the needs and interests of the average US Citizen above those of the DC establishment/globalist ruling class no matter their Faith, ethnicity or sexual orientation. A very big tent.

Honestly, this is probably the biggest shock I’ve had all year in politics.

Shock ending to the biggest feel-good fantasy movie of 2024: Democrat villains import tens of millions of new voters in violation of federal law, to cement their hegemony, only to piss off those v0ters just like everybody else, and end up losing power permanently.

Average IQ for Somalin’s is a bit under 68, that is a big part of their children not performing at grade level, and also why there will be high levels of poverty.
It is good though that they aspire to achieve, culture has much to do with success, regardless of intelligence.

Yep. These and other traditional, more religious groups that have been taken for granted by d/prog politicians are waking up to the fact that d/prog policies don’t match their own cultural beliefs; trannies in their kid’s locker room, abortion on demand (especially considering Margaret Sanger and her support for eugenics), putting teacher unions ahead of classroom performance goals, over regulation/taxes stifling small businesses and so on.
I’m not the least bit religious and I oppose all this gender / trans / gender-fluid nonsense as much as any religious person does.
I don’t doubt it b/c you have common sense. My point though is that we would expect those who actually express belief in and adherence to the shared precepts of the Abrahamic religions to be far more disdainful of trans nonsense, abortion on demand and so forth on average than others who lack religious convictions. As an example ‘Latino’ Catholics and Evangelicals, African American Baptists or AME members. Hard to square trannies and abortion on demand with most any major religious faith without enough mental gymnastics to qualify for the Olympics. .
Every human being is religious. Religion is how we answer the Big Questions: Who are we? How should we live? What is the Good, the Beautiful, and the True? No one can live without answers, conscious or unconscious, to these questions.
I had been planning to watch the returns and take a shot of whiskey every time a state was called for Trump. Now I’m beginning to worry that my liver wouldn’t take it.
I was sitting thinking about many things earlier this morning and wonder if – somehow – the polls, even the internal ones are SO far off that there is a > 300 electoral vote victory awaiting Trump?
300+ is possible in a couple scenarios. Watch NM. If Trump wins there the rout is on.

Anybody shouting “Death to America! Death to the Great Satan” is a Muslim AND a terrorist. When polled, a clear majority of foreign-born Muslims in America support terrorist goals.
