Should Kamala Harris Run For President Again in 2028? (Reader Poll)

“The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.”

VP Kamala Harris spent a long time in Hawaii after President-elect Donald Trump demolished her on November 5.

Harris has supposedly told her aides she wants to run for California governor in 2026 or president in 2028.

From Politico:

She is expected to explore those and other possible paths forward with family members over the winter holiday season, according to five people in the Harris inner circle, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal dynamics. Her deliberations follow an extraordinary four months in which Harris went from President Joe Biden’s running mate to the top of the ticket, reenergizing Democrats before ultimately crashing on election night.

“She doesn’t have to decide if she wants to run for something again in the next six months,” said one former Harris campaign aide. “The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.”

So what do you think? Should Harris run? Vote below!

Poll open until Midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday night, November 27 (update – extended to November 28).

I don’t think Harris will run for political office again. I bet she is angling to be appointed as President of the University of California system following in the footsteps of Janet Napolitano, only to torment and keep busy the good professor’s Equal Protection Project during her tenure.

Hell, EPP will need to hire 10 new attornies, one for each of the UC branch campuses.

Hodge in reply to rhhardin. | November 26, 2024 at 9:37 am

But can she actually finish 5th grade before the next election?

Jeroboam in reply to rhhardin. | November 29, 2024 at 5:01 pm

Sure she should — if you want another Republican president when Trump’s done in four years.

We didn’t get nearly enough time to laugh at that stupid prostitute in 24, we need another go.

Despite having to put up with her insufferableness’s campaign, I would to run against her for the same reason Trump rejoiced when he heard. SHe would be an easy opponent.

Hell yes! I love watching 1 billion dollars burn in a dumpster! Especially, not any of my money!

Historically she won’t and has no chance.

Few enough have come back to win after being defeated in a presidential campaign, and almost certainly nobody has ever done it following such a monumental defeat as suffered by Harris. I concur – she has zero chance of winning and probably only slightly better chance of even gaining the nom.

      thad_the_man in reply to DaveGinOly. | November 25, 2024 at 6:29 pm

      Nixon
Reagan came back after a primary loss.

Sing along: “One of these things is not like the others, one of these things doesn’t belong”

        Nixon, Reagan, Harris

        DaveGinOly in reply to thad_the_man. | November 26, 2024 at 12:11 pm

Kennedy beat Nixon 303 to 219, but the popular vote was much closer, 49.72% v 49.55%. Nothing like the walloping Harris took. (Yeah, I know, only the Electoral College counts. But candidates with fewer popular votes can win, so when a candidates gets hammered in both the EC and the popular vote, that’s unusual. Trump has a mandate that Kennedy didn’t have.)

Reagan didn’t lose a presidential election.

Does this mean we won’t have Kamala to kick around anymore?

caseoftheblues in reply to Skip. | November 26, 2024 at 7:21 am

She thinks very highly of herself… likely the hamster wheel in her head screaming if Trump did it so can I !

ArmyStrong in reply to Skip. | November 27, 2024 at 8:49 am

I voted yes, she should run in 2028. I would love to see her beaten like a rented mule by JD Vance!

Only if she chooses Matt Gaetz as her running mate and teaches him how to laugh like her.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to E Howard Hunt. | November 25, 2024 at 6:36 pm

Harris is like the ex wife who got kicked out of the house for spending a billion dollars and putting her husband another 10 million dollars in debt.

Would the ex husband then give her another chance to spend another billion and put him in debt again?

    I doubt it.

Hahaha; even democrats think she is a bozo (evidenced by her support in their primary when she ran in 2020). She wouldn’t submit herself to that embarrassment.

    bill54 in reply to slagothar. | November 26, 2024 at 8:57 am

She did it once; tell me why she won’t do it again. Kamala doesn’t learn very well and doesn’t do well on tests. Willie may have thought he was doing her a favor but I wonder at it.

Oh please run again. Please show the world what a dolt you are.

Waste donors’ dollars, set them on fire. Reduce the money available for the Dem primary winner.

It’s too bad she won’t win the primary since she would be a sure loss again – but let’s get her up there and complicate the eventual winner’s primary. Especially if it’s a sexist racist winner (I mean a white male.)

henrybowman in reply to PrincetonAl. | November 26, 2024 at 2:17 am

Of course, that’s only if the Democrats decide to run primaries next time.
They’ve already shown that they have alternatives now.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | November 25, 2024 at 6:33 pm

Hmmm.

She failed to gain a single delegate in 2020. The only reason she is the VP is because Biden needed an insurance policy. At least Biden learned something from Obama about insurance policies.

She failed to get a single vote in the 2024 primary election cycle, and only got the Democrat ticket for president was because Biden was pushed off the cliff.

She lost in a landslide against Trump.

Sure she could run for Governor in 2026. She should. It willl hone her skills for a run in a Democratic Party dominated state where republicans are in short supply and even in that bubble will lose.

She can then run in 2028 for president again, and lose in the primary.

Kamala sees the left-wing enconiums in the media and thinks, “I must be pretty good after all.” She hears only what she wants to hear because of her overweening pride. She is. after all is said and done, a typical democrat politician.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | November 25, 2024 at 6:33 pm

Did she run for President in 2024? I don’t remember her doing any of the things that candidates for the Presidency do. First, she was totally locked away in a closet for the first 5 or 6 weeks. Then, when she finally popped her head out she refused to have any sort of a back forth with … anyone. Sure, she screamed a lot and kept telling the same well-known lies over and over and over … but that was about the extent of substance to her “campaign”. I’ve seen high school kids do more in running for the Treasurer spot on the school council.

Komrade Kamala should go back to Canada. That’s more her speed.

thartless@gmail.com | November 25, 2024 at 6:38 pm

Her career is a textbook example of the Peter (double entendre intended) Principle. She has never held a job she was qualified for. Yes she should run…For her life.

For what country?

It would be a laugh riot to see her run again, only to fall out of the coconut tree a month before the Iowa caucus.

The obvious answer is yes, but she will lose in the primaries just like last time. She has better odds of being nominated by Trump to replace Vance and then running as the de facto Republican in 2028.

If…IF she became the nominee. Imagine her having to debate JD Vance. Oh boy.

Doubt it, but DON’T CARE. She will be no more authentic.

Durak Kazyol in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | November 26, 2024 at 8:29 am

She couldn’t be more authentic. She was completely and totally authentic during her “campaign.” She’s an empty-headed moron with no principles and no ideas at all, and she demonstrated that openly and repeatedly. Heh!

Anybody who wants authenticity instead of superficiality doesn’t like women.

“To respect feminine modesty is to know how to stick to appearances, to question endlessly the infinite enigmas of Sphinx-nature, without seeking, even out of prudence, to “reveal” the truth.” – Sarah Kofman

Her political career is over. With her word salad speeches the lecture circuit is out as well.

As they have done her entire career the Communist Party satraps will decide if she runs for governor/president or not.

I can see her campaign commercial clearly. A bus driving backwards on a freeway with the words “Take America Back..wards” and gold hammer and sickle symbols. They pan over to the driver and Kammie has her head out laughing her a** off. The cackling can faintly be heard over the reverse beeping noise from the bus.

This is a hell yes

What an embarrassing puff piece.

They interview her sycophants and not anyone with an objective opinion. Short version, she could run for governor and win, but she might not want to because it would be a real job that would require actual work.

Be an easy win for J D.

Never going to happen. Sure they say it now but that’s only because they have too. She’ll be told later on that no she won’t be running in 2028.

Of course Harris should be the Dem pres nominee in 2028. I think we should contribute funds to help her along.

Are folk voting YesNo meaning she cancan’t win if she runs again, or YesNo meaning she shouldshouldn’t allow another Republican to win the White House? Those are two very different options!

I am voting no, because even though it looks like she can’t win this nation is very divided. Any candidate from either of the main parties CAN win. Yes, even Harris. I want the Democrat not to be a pathetic was of space and not insane. I know that wanting and getting it is not the same thing but Harris is dumb and nuts so I don’t want her to be the nominee. On the other hand I think she will be likely be humiliated in the primary so that would be fun.

amwick in reply to Martin. | November 26, 2024 at 6:25 am

Ty Martin.. I voted yes because of the entertainment value.. I am looking in my crystal ball and seeing John Fetterman.. crazy, I know, but he seems to have the tiniest amount of common sense.

She should pursue her claimed earlier career at McDonald’s. I think her serving Trump a Big Mac would get millions of views.

I’d like to see her run again. Win for us. The Dems won’t let her run. Like Hillary, she’ll fade into the background.

PLEASE! We patriots would love another landslide!

I’m thinking she’ll run for CA governor in 2026. Even she must realize that she would need some kind of established track record before running for POTUS again.

Of course, if she WERE elected governor of CA, she would almost certainly continue Newsomizing it, making her political poison come 2028.

So, “should she”? I have no opinion on the matter. Dems should use the next few years to seriously reevaluate the mood of the electorate. But “WILL she”? God only knows …

The_Mew_Cat in reply to KY Squatch. | November 26, 2024 at 5:23 pm

She might run for CA Governor, but she has to win or place in the all-party Primary. Lots of other Democrats will want that prize too. She will have tough competition.

Harris should be the Democrat candidate in 2028, 2032, 2036, 2040… Her repeated losses will usher in America’s Golden Age.

Capitalist-Dad | November 26, 2024 at 8:57 am

This ignorant dolt concludes she should run for president again??? As a stinking Democrat, she assumes Americans couldn’’t possibly have rejected her destructive leftist policies, gross propaganda, and personal stupidity. As usual, the ONLY conclusion Democrats ever draw is: Next time we use a bigger hammer.

Pride goeth before a fall. Then Pride gets up and keeps right on goething off the cliff into eternity.

Doesn’t Harvard need a new President?

janejohn@gmail.com | November 26, 2024 at 10:35 am

I voted No because of the embarrassing thought of her running again, and then was surprised at the results she’s received so far.. So she actually has genuine supporters out there? I suggest that she has the qualifications to become the new latter-day Harold Stassen, who ran for president 10 times between 1940 and 1992. But I suspect her better bet is to be appointed to some plum political job—and I don’t mean the Supreme Court.

Tempted to say who cares. That said, if I were a Democrat I wouldn’t want her anywhere near my campaign for a whole host of reasons. If Republican I’d say bring her on; we’ve improved and fixed, at great cost, some of the wreckage she left behind while VP; she was a terrible campaigner and there’s no reason to assume she’s any more honest, capable, or smarter than she was before and we have a number of people any of who can beat her.

Yes, she SHOULD run for president, and she should BE president, but I do not believe Xi will step aside for her.

Of course she should run again! Why wouldn’t the Dimocrats want to put forward the best candidate they have, just like they did this year? And she could choose the second best candidate, Lizzy Warren, to be her running mate. A real dream ticket.

For the Republican candidate, that is. 🤣

Please run again. She is an idiot. She will still be an idiot in 2028. Next time it will be a real landslide.

There is only one way Kamala Harris will ever be President – if Sloe Joe dies before January 20.

I’d love to see Harris be the Democratic nominee in 2028 — that’d give the GOP candidate a leg up.
However, I suspect that for 2028 they’re planning to have those pesky little things called primaries, and a campaign to get the nomination. So that will likely let her out.

Methinks the DNC has answered with a “HELL NO!!” …
https://x.com/aelfred_D/status/1861555702809886729

Yes, PLEASE GOD let her run again in 2028.

She’s already skipped two primaries. Will the Dems let her skip a third?
