Rep. Staube: ‘Alleged Text Messages’ From DC to FEMA ‘Directing’ Them to Skip Trump Supporters

Rep. Staube: ‘Alleged Text Messages’ From DC to FEMA ‘Directing’ Them to Skip Trump Supporters

“…alleged text messages from Washington, DC to the supervisor advising them and directing them to do this. So somebody higher up within FEMA was advising the people on the ground to do this.”

Rep. Greg Staube (R-FL) revealed on Fox News that someone or persons in Washington, DC, sent text messages to the FEMA supervisor, who directed people to skip houses supporting Donald Trump after Hurricane Milton.

STAUBE: If it was happening in Lake Placid, it’s happening all across the great state of Florida. Probably happening in western North Carolina. Probably happening all of the states that were hit by Hurricane Helene, and that’s what we in Congress need to get to the bottom of. FEMA, the administration wants to say this was an isolated incident, but there are alleged text messages from Washington, DC to the supervisor advising them and directing them to do this. So somebody higher up within FEMA was advising the people on the ground to do this. So if it was happening in Lake Placid, I can guarantee you it was happening in other places, all across the great state of Florida and the country. And the Oversight Committee needs to get to the bottom of this. The very first stop would be the person who was fired. Put them under oath and ask them who in their chain of command was directing her to do this. There’d be some interesting testimony.

BILL HEMER: You touched on this a moment ago. Ron DeSantis, your governor, sent this out on X, “The blatant weaponization of government by bipartisan activists in the federal bureaucracy is yet another reason why the Biden Harris administration is in its final days.” Can you reflect on that at all? That last point there, coming off this election.

STAUBE: Well, that’s the other great thing about, yeah, that’s the great thing about these election results is Donald Trump’s going to be president in a short couple of months and we will get to the bottom of it because somebody in his administration will take over FEMA and will do its own investigation after the Biden-Harris Administration is out of there. So we’ll get the answers at some point.

But I want to know how high up these decisions went, and every single person in that chain of command that was involved and or responsible for directing people who work for FEMA to not give FEMA aid to trump supporters. Is absolutely atrocious.

HEMMER: Well, it appears FEMA did the right thing and terminated this individual. Had they not, we may never know the truth about it.

FEMA fired Marn’i Washington after The Daily Wire exposed her plan of action, which told workers to skip houses with Trump signs.

Lake Placid, FL, is located in Highlands County. Trump won 70% of the vote on November 5.

Angela Wrench told WFLA that three FEMA workers visited her home on Saturday: “I said ‘you are here because of the news, correct?’ They didn’t want to answer right away but one of them did finally say ‘yes, we’re just here trying to make things right.'”

No way this was a decision by some low level staffer.

The PTB were PISSED at the criticism being leveled at FEMA, and (rightly) figured it was people on the right who were making the biggest stink, so what does a leftist do? Punishes them.

Perhaps. But as others have pointed out, the Obama team did a very good job of weaponizing the Federal government. Ms. Washington knew what to do, she didn’t necessarily need someone to tell her. She went and did it and figured she would be protected. And she was almost right.

Like Lois Lerner, Ms. Washington could be a “fellow traveler.” They can be relied upon to do the party’s dirty work without implicating the higher-ups. They then get rewarded with promotions that can’t be conclusively described as a rewards for advancing the party’s agenda.

Not merely the decision of a low-level staffer but a direction given other than word of mouth/wink & a nod. It was a direction given with receipts. You don’t do that unless you expect to face no repercussions for the blatant political discrimination. That’s the climate these people have created in the agency.

Partisan leftist ideologues don’t need to be ordered. That goes for the partisan idiots on the right, as well. We have plenty examples of both just going off the rails though I would say it skews more left than right.

We do not need FEMA any more than we need a Department of Education.

Kill it. Reduce it to rubble. Salt the ground where it once stood.

It’s amply clear that this is a task best left to states and individuals.

I’d say kill off FEMA and outsource its work to the Cajun Navy. Except this would end up bureaucratizing the CN and destroying its effectiveness.

Too many government agencies = CORRUPTION

I really think one of the best ways to bring our debt under control is downside on a massive scale. Some agencies should be eliminated outright, others might be 50% or more people let go.

Since they are Dems, and Dems let massive numbers of illegals into America, it is poetic that those discharged will be competing with illegals for a job. We will probably have to create a new minimum wage, about $5 an hour. That will be their new standard of living.

We know that the telecom companies turn over data at the FBI’s request without a search warrant so this shouldn’t be hard to find out with a new administration. How much do we need to find out to confirm that Trump needs to clean house all across the deep state?

Let’s take this to the extreme. Did anyone die from this “oversight”?

#1 They will destroy the evidence. Or try.
#2 Nothing will happen. Lois Lerner is still employed at the IRS.

I’m glad you mentioned the Dept. of Education. When anyone suggests eliminating it, the first response is, “Oh! You’re against education?” But, tell me: how have High School graduation rates trended since its creation?

The FEMA leader is a rug eater and has told her people before to treat fellow LBGT+ special. This fish is rotten from the top.

We would have a far better government if the top people under Biden were not all DEI picks or the first this or that.

Time for a Federal Grand Jury, away from DC, somewhere where the offense occurred

Someone needs to make a note of the number of times Biden, Harris, Mayorkas, KJP made direct and angry statements regarding the early reports of political malfeasance by FEMA insisting it was a false conspiracy theory, instead of investigating it’s veracity.

Like the authoritarians they are, we are all supposed to sit down, shut up, and chant whatever mantra they feed us. If they tell us the sky is green, we are supposed to dutifully insist that it is green until they tell us otherwise.

I think that we can safely assume that this type of overt racism is not just limited to FEMA. This has become an institutionalized problem government-wide – including within our military. Hopefully, Stepan Miller can lead the fight to uproot this criminality, much like he and his America First Legal organization have done in the private sector.
