VP Kamala Harris delivered her concession speech at Howard University. President Joe Biden and Jill Biden did not attend.
WEIRD.
A squirrel ran around the stage before Harris arrived. Was it Peanut’s spirit?
I guess the left can’t contest the election because Harris told everyone to accept the results:
The vice president also seemed to take aim at Trump, who for four years has blamed his 2020 White House loss to President Biden on unproven claims of a “rigged election” and who repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to overturn the results.”Earlier today I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory,” Harris said. “I also told him we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”She emphasized that “a fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results… anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it.”
Even so, she won’t concede the fight behind her campaign: “While I concede this election, I do not conceded the fight that fueled this campaign.”
Harris also tried to uplift her supporters:
“To the young people who are watching: It is okay to feel sad and disappointed, but please know it’s going to be okay,” Vice President Harris tells supporters in her concession speech.”Sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win.”
But…did she just say we’re headed for a dark time? It sure sounds like a warning:
“Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars,” Vice President Kamala Harris says, referencing an old adage.”I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time, but for the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case. But here’s the thing: America, if it is, let us fill the sky with the light of a brilliant, brilliant billion of stars, the light of optimism, of faith, of truth and service.”
