FEMA Official Told Workers to ‘Avoid’ Homes With Trump Signs in Florida

“The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance…”

The Daily Wire discovered that a FEMA official told workers not to help anyone in homes with Donald Trump signs after Hurricane Milton.

The location was Highlands County, a deep-red area in Florida. On Tuesday, Trump received 70% of the votes there.

Oh boy:

A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.

The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance. Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”

These people belonged to the DHS surge capacity force team. They volunteered to help the understaffed FEMA.

Washington gave the workers a “best practices” list. It included “avoid homes advertising Trump.”

The workers shared photos in the system to track which places they visited.

A few homes workers couldn’t access had explanations like “Trump sign, no contact per leadership.”

Other explanations: “Per leadership no stop Trump flag” and “Trump sign.”

One person wrote in a complaint: “If they had damage or lost power for over thirty-six hours, it was my duty to inform them of benefits to which they are entitled through FEMA.”

The complaint noted that Washington’s directions will wear down even more trust of FEMA:

The whistleblower complaint says that the Trump guidance further undermines trust in FEMA and its response to the hurricanes.

“This behavior raises significant concerns of discrimination against United States citizens because of their political views,” a copy of the complaint obtained by The Daily Wire said. “These actions not only undermine the integrity of our agency and create a hostile work environment for those who may hold differing political beliefs but they also threaten the very democracy of our country.”

FEMA told The Daily Wire:

“FEMA helps all survivors regardless of their political preference or affiliation and we are deeply disturbed by this employee’s actions. While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again. The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident. This is a matter that we take extremely seriously and we are doing everything we can to make sure all survivors receive support from FEMA. To date, we have helped over 365,000 households impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the state of Florida and have provided over $898 million in direct assistance to survivors. We are horrified that this took place and therefore have taken extreme actions to correct this situation and have ensured that the matter was addressed at all levels. Helping people is what we do best and our workforce across the agency will continue to serve survivors for as long as it takes.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis directed the state to begin its own investigation.

I have no doubts this will prove to be true. This is right on brand for the Biden Harris Administration

If FEMA wants folks to voluntarily come to the ‘camps’ in some future dystopian reality they gonna have to do better PR than they’ve managed the last few years with Maui, NC and FL.

Me, I like to think that the phrase “FEMA Camps” should be parsed like “Boy Scout Camps.”

But, but… Trump will disband FEMA!

Yes, I did vote for him. But I’m not one of these people that thinks he’s going to be a miracle worker.

Same thing i’ve heard from western NC. She will be permanently banned from all government work going forward in a couple of months and FEMA will be cleaned out of these asshats.

Wish it was surprising. It’s called hatred praticed by pretend lovers.

Title 18, U.S.C., Section 241
No quarter. Trump’s DOJ must go after all of them including this. Prison and bankruptcy at a minimum. Scorched earth.

Lois Lerner still works at the IRS.

NOTHING will happen.

Hey, fsu. You still rocking that olive branch?

You mean that conspiracy theory was actually true, too?

The sad part is that this would have control the blow job queen had been elected.

I hate these people with a passion.

This is no surprise. We have always known that Traitor Joe and the wntire executive branch worked as a democrat property and withheld everything they could from conservatives (except for investigations and swatting and long prison sentences for BS charges). We saw how they totally ignored East Palestine and everything after that, too. It’s just nice that one of the treasonous morons actually put it onto paper.

The left isn’t “weaponizing” government. The left considers government to be nothing but a weapon for them to wield against everyone and anyone they dislike or who bothers them. The leftists think that government exists TO BE a weapon.

We are going to need to build a lot of prisons …

And we just hear from the whistleblower now?

Now he can be reasonably assured of not being persecuted,
Not exactly a profile in courage, but I won’t judge him.

Compare and contrast:

“a FEMA spokesperson told The Daily Wire it was “deeply disturbed” and “horrified” by the employee’s actions, and that it has “taken extreme actions to correct this situation.”
Vs.
“The employees say that Washington has not been punished for the guidance, but has been shifted to another county in Florida.”

Don’t gaslight me, bro.
Now, prison sentences for the employee AND her manager.

In a year of insane stories of government failure, incompetence and misbehavior, this insane story is very near the top. Absolutely unbelievable.

“We have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again.”

Translation: We put the employee on temporary leave (with pay of course) and we’re going to change policies to tell people never to put that kind of thing in writing.

There are a number of criminal charges that should be applied but won’t be. The purpose here is to cover this up.

So, who is getting fired?

I wonder how far they were willing to go.

Did they also deny EMS services to Trump supporters? Did they stand by and allow houses with Trump signs to burn? Deny basic first aid, let the “Trumper” drown?

Nothing would surprise me at this point.

By the way, someone dug through records and found that CDC did have a proposal to build a system of camps for COVID patients. Basically sending granny off to die.

Trump signs survived the hurricane? It’s as if it was destined.

Where are the people who derided people calling them liars when reports started coming out of western NC about how FEMA was getting in the way of help efforts?

This is shocking and I hope anyone involved is paraded into a Congressiondl oversight hearing and fired, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If you were feeling sorry for Dementia Joe the political bully hack, or Cackling Kamala, don’t. Losing an election isn’t anywhere close to what they deserve..

Lawsuit or criminal prosecution?

BigRosieGreenbaum | November 9, 2024 at 9:07 am

I don’t understand the whole worker has been removed thing. Isn’t what he did criminal? If you’re that kind of low life, then you should be transferred to Hamas, where you would be most useful.

We know for a fact that Quisling Joe took millions in bribes from Russia, China and other foreign entities. Trump should prosecute him.

The FEMA supervisor needs to be fired—along with every FEMA employee that went along with her immoral, illegal order.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | November 9, 2024 at 1:26 pm

They’ll throw you in jail and demonize you to eternity for trying to sell someone in a flood zone a bottle of water for $10 (though that’s still less than people are charged for it in the hospital or the shops in the airport past security), but those same people get off on denying people any aid, at all, at the very worst times of their lives, in the most vulnerable of circumstances – and denying not even aid that comes out of their own pockets but aid that they comes from others that they have merely been given power to be in charge of.

Everyone up the chain of command in this incident need to be sent to prison to ponder the utter destructiveness and evil nature of their deranged selves for a good 10 or 20 years.

As of the latest Daily Wire report, the worker (who was, appallingly enough, at some sort of supervisor level) is ‘no longer with the agency.’ Her name is Marn’i Washington — and no, that’s not a typo, there actually is a random apostrophe. Make of that what you will.

To me, what’s particularly /interesting/ is the fact she was clearly willing to put this so-called ‘guidance’ in writing. There’s no ‘oh, they must have just misheard me’ deniability, it’s right there in black and white. Maybe she figured everyone on her team was a fellow bigot, maybe she assumed her superiors would protect her, maybe she’s just a typical hate-filled leftista with zero impulse control or grasp of consequences.

Another thing I’d like to know and would appreciate if the lawyers here would weigh in on, is: is there a lawsuit (maybe even a small class action one) opportunity in this? I have zero faith that Marn’i Washington will face any criminal liability for her malfeasance, but wallet-reaming would deliver a lesson.
