Bill Ackman Declines to Write Yale Recommendation Letter for Friend’s Daughter

“You wouldn’t ask me to write a letter of recommendation for her admission to Hamas.”

More business leaders need to stand up like this. The point that Bill Ackman makes here is completely valid. Yale has given in to the madness of the pro-Hamas mob.

Ackman writes on Twitter/X:

A friend was asked to write a recommendation for his daughter who is applying to Yale. Worth a read.

Dear ,

I am unwilling to write a letter of recommendation in support of your daughter’s application to Yale. I no longer do that. It is not that I don’t believe that she is qualified, on the contrary it is because I do.

You wouldn’t ask me to write a letter of recommendation for her admission to Hamas. But Yale is no different than Hamas, a cult that abides no disagreement, and a cult certain of its purpose and mission beyond reflection. Yale is potentially even more dangerous. Hamas will be defeated shortly. Yale will continue to send its graduates into positions of power for years.

A recent study at Harvard found that roughly 50% of the students and professors wouldn’t discuss “uncomfortable” topics. An essential life skill is the ability to change your mind. She won’t learn that at any Ivy league school. Their reputations are still so strong that their faculty, staff and graduates all possess the arrogant certainty of religious fanatics.

I am sorry to disappoint you. I wish her the best in her search for a school,

It would be more effective if he had an alternative to the Ivy+ schools to propose.

    Good point.

    Really good point.

There are no alternatives to Ivy+ schools.

    Really. None. Almost none.

The only path to even a marginally happy future for any U.S. 18-year-old is Ivy+ degree.

You’ve really got Life analyzed. And deciphered. Good on you, mate.

And that whole Leadership thing? Plenty of playtime with balls. supplemented with lots of airplane travel, And also a lot of hotel stays. That other families pay for.

Do not even think about the many, many, many, many, many happily-ever-after success stories that do not include $250,000 Ivy+ schools,
That do not involve playing child games with other 21-year-olds

I’m not sure whether it is widely known n the United States, but most people who are leading happy, productive, successful lives on this planet …… know nothing about you Ivy+
    Good grief.

It’s a valid suggestion for improvement, If you’re going to close a door, offer to open another one. I don’t consider his original letter to be dickish, but to any enthusiastic parent whose hopes are being dashed, this would further reduce the probability of such an assumption.
