Arizona AG Investigating Trump’s Comments About Cheney

Arizona AG Investigating Trump’s Comments About Cheney

Oh, look. The media isn’t including Trump’s full remarks! He wasn’t threatening Cheney!

For crying out loud!

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, announced his office will investigate former President Donald Trump’s comments about Liz Cheney.

“I have already asked my criminal division chief to start looking at that statement, analyzing it for whether it qualifies as a death threat under Arizona’s laws,” Mayes said on Friday.

Trump literally called out Lizzy and her family for being war hawks. As I said earlier, the Cheneys love war. It makes them and their buddies rich.

I just cannot.

KPNX reporter Brahm Resnik told MSNBC:

I just spoke to Attorney General Kris Mayes about 2 hours ago for the taping of my Sunday show. She told me she just gotten off the phone with her criminal division chief, and she was investigating whether what Donald Trump said about Liz Cheney constituted a death threat under Arizona law. I’ll tell you, under Arizona law, it is illegal to make threats or intimidate someone…can be charged as a class one misdemeanor, class six felony. Kris Mayes told me they’re looking into it.

I asked her whether this is just political speech, free speech, she said, we’re checking to see if across that line. But she also put it in the larger perspective. If you’re here right now, you begin to understand how this place is ready for a high security event on Tuesday, an election. Our sheriff’s office is talking about a no tolerance policy for protests. Kris Mayes is activating all her agents. Every law enforcement agency in the state is involved with protecting the vote, protecting voters.

So Kris Mayes brought that into the conversation that for Donald Trump to make these kinds of remarks at this time. Such a really fraught and tense moment. Here in Maricopa County is just bad.

Infuriating.

Of course the media has been parroting the clipped remarks.

12 News claimed:

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

AZ Family:

Trump called Cheney “a deranged person” and added, “But the reason she couldn’t stand me is that she always wanted to go to war with people. If it were up to her we’d be in 50 different countries.”

The former president continued: “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with the rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. OK, let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face.

“You know they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, oh gee, well, let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy,” Trump said.

NBC News:

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her,” Trump said. “Okay, let’s see how she feels about it. You know when the guns are trained on her face — you know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building.”

I’ve investigated Trump’s comments by reading them and am certain they don’t violate Arizona law. If they do, Arizona law, then that law violates the First Amendment. That took about 15 seconds.

The Arizona AG is the one breaking the law, but this is how Arizona Democrats in power role. Trump just called Liz Cheney a Chickenhawk. Which she is. So is her father Daddy War Bucks Dick Cheney.

I think there should be an investigation. An investigation by the new Trump administration DOJ of the Arizona AG for election interference and conspiracy to violate civil rights.

The threat of investigation is intimidation. Isn’t intimidating someone with the purpose of preventing them from exercising their rights a federal offense?

ARIZONA AG AND SOS NEED TO INVESTIGATE THIS:

THE STUNNING EVIDENCE IS VOLUMINOUS IN COUNTY’S OWN DOCUMENTATION:

    – 49 MISSING MEMORY CARDS in one county?!

    – 35 UNDOCUMENTED TABULATORS in the 4th largest USA COUNTY?!

    – APPARENTLY ZERO CHAIN OF CUSTODY IN MARICOPA ARIZONA ELECTIONS

    – USE THEIR SIGNED OATHS. We have copies of every leaders signed oath. They promised to protect the votes.

    – 2020-2024 Arizona Elections Procedure Manual requires 13 data points in VOTING PROCESS.

MARICOPA COUNTY ROUTINELY ONLY ALLOWS 5 of the 13 required data points to be monitored and reported!

WHY DO THESE COUNTIES SO AGGRESSIVELY VIOLATE POLICY AND CREATE CHAOS:

Saying in essence, ‘darn politicians should have to fight the wars they send other people to fight and see how they like it’ used to be a common complaint about war.

It was a stupid thing to say, and it’s still a stupid thing to say. It’s stupid when Democrats use it, and it’s just as stupid when a Republican does. But it’s not anything like they’re pretending to believe it is.

geecheeboy in reply to Milhouse. | November 2, 2024 at 7:20 pm

Why is it stupid to speak the truth? “Not helpful,” sure, but “stupid?”

Milhouse in reply to geecheeboy. | November 3, 2024 at 1:05 am

Yes, the entire “chickenhawk” attack is stupid. It was stupid when the Dems used it, and it’s stupid when a Rep uses it too. How do you imagine war is supposed to happen? War is declared by the nation’s elders and leaders, and fought by the young. That’s how it’s always worked and how it’s supposed to work. Do you think the political leaders who voted to fight the Revolution went and fought themselves?! Some were young enough to do so, but most weren’t. Ditto with every war we’ve ever fought, and every war anyone else has ever fought. Our leaders have often had military service in their youth, but not while they’ve been our leaders. And when we had historical female leaders, such as Queen Elizabeth or Queen Anne, did anyone expect them to fight?! Or are we not supposed to have female leaders?

Was FDR a “chickenhawk” because he didn’t go into combat and never had?! Did anyone criticize him for that?! This is ridiculous.

Or go over to Israel, where pretty much everyone in government has had military service, but it’s usually over by now. Netanyahu had a distinguished military stint, but he’s not going into combat now! So should he leave war leadership and decisions to the young?!

The people choose our leaders, and we expect them to decide when we go to war. That’s how it is, that’s how it’s always been, and that’s how it should be. So of all the valid criticisms of Liz Cheney, that is not one of them.

Whoever is doing it is elected.

Tuca also being investigated as a co-conspirator

Throwing mud and then accusing the one hit with the mud of being dirty. Another classic Dem ploy.

Mayes and other AZ Ds won power by a very slim margin, and the expected incompetence in the R primaries. She has to jump and wave to get support

Ironclaw in reply to tbonesays. | November 1, 2024 at 10:15 pm

I’m still not sure that election was honest and don’t forget that the crook in their governor’s office was also the Secretary of State at the time and she was in charge of Elections and she did not recuse herself

Milhouse in reply to Ironclaw. | November 2, 2024 at 11:35 am

That’s a stupid argument. Elections have to be some elected official’s ultimate responsibility, unless you want to put the Deep State in charge. And whichever official is ultimately responsible for elections will of course 90% of the time be running either for reelection or for a different position.

In any case, what would it mean to “recuse” herself? Recuse from what? It’s not as if she were personally conducting the election. She was the official responsible. Her department was running it. So what would a “recusal” look like?

destroycommunism | November 1, 2024 at 5:12 pm

dont forget it is the left that proclaims they cant be racist etc et

they only control america when we ALLOW THEM to control the narrative

no more no more!

This is the definition of desperation! Websters should use this as their go-to meaning as the example of its definition.

Folks, if Harris somehow manages to do the unimaginable and win this thing, this kind of abuse of law enforcement authority is going to accelerate in a way not many Americans have really ever experienced first hand. It’s gonna get real ugly, real quick. This is the very predictable outcome of any country where one party/ideology controls all the cultural and political levers of power.

I’m sorry, but anyone who still lives inside the happy fantasy where the police will always do the right thing and defend your rights had better start exploring the idea that unless there is a major correction soon, the police will just be another adversary to be overcome along with the rest of them.

Kris Mayes is a Dem hack, and he can pound rocks.
What a special little snowflake he is.

Cindy McCain is the Machiavellian AZ puppet master.

henrybowman in reply to Tiki. | November 1, 2024 at 10:43 pm

While true, I don’t think she’s in charge of the politicians who are honest enough to put D after their names. At least not yet.

This illustrates a complete abuse of power and why people are fed up with the lawfare and weaponization of government.

Liz Cheney is a stupid person. Fact so what what are we talking about here?

    Milhouse in reply to diver64. | November 3, 2024 at 1:07 am

She is not stupid. She’s not a good person, or a principled person, but she’s nobody’s idiot. She used to be on our side, and was a valuable contributor; now she has betrayed us, so the less said about her the better.

They seem to be grasping paper straws (they outlawed plastic) that have grown limp with their hubris.

“I have already asked my criminal division chief to start looking at that statement, analyzing it for whether it qualifies as a death threat under Arizona’s laws,” Mayes said on Friday.

Even if it were – and it obviously was not – what the hell would that have to do with Arizona?

The Arizona Ag was heard saying … “with the swipe of my hand …”

The Arizona AG needs to be perp-walked right now and held over for trial in the case of his clear abuse of power and election interference. Frankly, false charges and intentional abuse of law enforcement powers like this are among the worst crimes against society that there are. This is why the prohibition against bearing false witness made the top ten commandments.

These people CANNOT be allowed to continue to commit overt and clear crimes like this and never be punished appropriately for them. This must stop. It must be stopped. This POS needs to get 30 to life for criminally abusing one of the most powerful positions in the state.

“Even if it were – and it obviously was not – what the hell would that have to do with Arizona?”

“…Trump said at the Tucker Carlson Live tour finale in Glendale, Arizona….”

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to henrybowman. | November 2, 2024 at 5:23 pm

Okey doke. That explains that. So, it’s just plain malicious prosecution (the threat thereof) and election interference.

Would the Arizona AG be investigating if Trump has]d suggested, oh, I dunno . . . that Liz go on a hunting trip with her father?

Outhouse should weigh in here and expound on how the AZ AG investigation is legit based on some loose, pedantic (fake) legal reasoning.

“Let’s put her with a rifle…”

Nobody puts someone with a rifle in front of a firing squad. This setup makes it clear Trump is talking about putting Cheney on the FEBA, not in front of a firing squad.

Milhouse in reply to DaveGinOly. | November 2, 2024 at 11:39 am

The Aztecs did the equivalent. So maybe he wants to give the condemned a fighting chance?

(Yes, I know what he actually said, which is miles away from any of this.)

According to Wikipedia, “Mayes attended ASU College of Law and graduated magna cum laude”. And yet she needs to ask her criminal division chief to start looking at that statement, analyzing it for whether it qualifies as a death threat under Arizona’s laws?!

.Forget the actual context of Trump’s remarks. Let’s suppose he actually said that she ought to be put in front of a firing squad. Or even that she deserves to be shot by someone.

Arizona laws are subject to the first amendment, and the first amendment absolutely protects such statements. Neither statement is a threat, and no state law has the power to deem them a threat. It’s impossible for a state to have such a law, because it would automatically be invalid.

So either she should turn her law license in, or she should admit she knows very well that there was no threat, and her statement was a knowing lie.
