Whitmer Issues ‘Non-Apology’ for Video That Mocks Catholics
Shorter Whitmer: “You humorless Catholics misconstrued what I did.”
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued a statement regarding the video of her feeding a Dorito to a leftist podcaster as if it’s the Eucharist.
Why in Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer feeding chips to a woman who’s on her knees?
And where is the rest of the video?

A young woman told me feeding someone is a TikTok trend, but the videos she showed me had people sitting at tables or in everyday positions.
Before Vatican II, you received Communion on your knees, and the priest put the Eucharist on your tongue. You did not touch it. You can still receive Communion this way.
I attend Latin Mass, where we ALWAYS receive Communion while kneeling. We also wear veils and dresses that cover our shoulders and go to the knees. The dresses either cover our elbows or we wear a cardigan to cover the whole arm.
Anyway, Whitmer received a lot of criticism. I don’t know if she meant to do it or if the podcaster suggested it. Considering the podcaster is a far-left person, it wouldn’t shock me if she chose the position to mock Catholics.
The Bishops of Michigan issued a scathing letter criticizing the governor for her participation:
The Bishops of Michigan have expressed their “profound disappointment and offense taken” with Governor Gretchen Whitmer for posting a video skit on social media showing the state’s Governor feeding a Dorito corn chip to a kneeling podcaster in a manner that is widely being perceived as a mockery of the Holy Eucharist.
“The skit goes further than the viral online trend that inspired it, specifically imitating the posture and gestures of Catholics receiving the Holy Eucharist, in which we believe that Jesus Christ is truly present,” said Paul A. Long, President and CEO of the Michigan Catholic Conference which represents the seven dioceses of the state, October 11.
“It is not just distasteful or ‘strange;’ it is an all-too-familiar example of an elected official mocking religious persons and their practices. While dialogue on this issue with the governor’s office is appreciated, whether or not insulting Catholics and the Eucharist was the intent, it has had an offensive impact.”
Whitmer said:
Over 25 years in public service, I would never do something to denigrate someone’s faith. I’ve used my platform to stand up for people’s right to hold and practice their personal religious beliefs. My team has spoken to the Michigan Catholic Conference. What was supposed to be a video about the importance of the CHIPS Act to Michigan jobs, has been construed as something it was never intended to be, and I apologize for that.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issues an “apology” for her very offensive social media video she made where she places Doritos into the mouth of liberal podcaster Liz Plank who is on her knees.
Many Catholics are saying it is a clear mockery of the sacrament of Holy Communion:

But look at the body language of the podcaster. It gives off a sexual and worship vibe. It’s so gross.
Whitmer’s face is also funny, because honestly…she looks like she’s saying, “What am I doing?”
But overall the video portrays the atmosphere around Democrats. It’s a cult. It’s disturbing.
The video didn’t offend me. Then again, it’s hard to offend me when it comes to anything unless you put ketchup on your hot dog. I’m used to people mocking Catholics. It’s easy to do because we won’t blow you up and we mostly just brush it aside. It just gets so old.

You can tell by the smug look on Wretched Whitmer’s face that she knows exactly what she’s doing in mocking the Eucharistic rite.
Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
“I am not sure I have. I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”
Trump said that while he hasn’t asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.
“When I drink my little wine — which is about the only wine I drink — and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness,”
Aw, shaddup, toolbag. Can’t you at least TRY to stay on topic for once?
“Trump, Trump, Trump.”
Your well-known TDS exhibitions here have rendered you a complete laughingstock.
Trump mocks taking communion. He says that the Body of Christ is “my little cracker.”
Did he put a Dorito on some kneeling chick’s tongue, dipstick?
No?
Then STFU.
No, he doesn’t. You’ve missed the most important point of all: Trump is not Catholic. He was raised Presbyterian, but now identifies as a “non-denominational Christian”, who visits a variety of churches.
That means that even if he does sometimes visit a Catholic church he would not be taking communion there. Since very few other churches believe in transsubstantiation, whichever church he is referring to almost certainly teaches that the cracker is just a cracker and not literally Jesus.
Even if he’s referring to a church that does believe in transsubstantiation, he clearly doesn’t believe in it, and there’s nothing wrong with his saying so. He’s not mocking the host, he’s just calling it what he believes it is, a cracker.
Protestants do not believe the Eucharist is the actual body of Christ; it is symbolic only.
And I doubt the veracity of pretty much anything you quote.
Oh fuck off. You’re beyond tiresome, Democrat puppet.
But, but Trump!!11!!
Here is the video where Trump said that. It is Trump talk in his way, but he says he feels cleansed after it. JR distorts what is said, like the rest of the liberal idiots. Trump actually shows faith. Considering that Melania is a devoted Catholic and Trumps assassin attempt I think Trump conviction has actually increased.

JR thinks he is cool with a gotcha moment, but it is a typical fail. Trump is not dissing the Catholic faith, unlike Whitmer. JR wants to distract from the fact that Whitmer, THE GOVERNOR of Michigan, just trashed the Catholic faith. It just shows how little respect Democrats have toward Christians. It also shows how far the TDS people will go to twist what is really happening.
Democrats are selfish, narcissistic twisted people with the largest population of sexual perverts in the United States and they want us to accept that without question.
“ Over 25 years in public service…”
There’s problem #1. If you’ve been in public service that long, the only public you’re serving is yourself.
“I would never do something to denigrate someone’s faith…”
Somehow, this lady managed to graduate from law school without learning the term “ res ipsa loquitur”? It is literally what’s she’s doing in the video. I’m not catholic and even I understand the outrage.
It’s always a weak apology after they get caught.
I knew straight away seeing it it was mocking Christianity, she knew it was.
Oh, don’t worry, there are plenty of commenters on LI who denigrate the Catholic religion.
Many of whom will claim dismay if their faith is mocked in any way.
Looks like Jack Off JR is in the house.
Are you done molesting children today? So soon?
No, there are not. There’s only you, who’s a living denigration of reason.
I have read many comments on here over the years that are both mocking and actively hostile to Catholics, Catholic teachings, priests, and the Pope. It always disappoints and saddens me that people who I otherwise respect and agree with post those comments.
Hostile to the Pope, sure. I would imagine most commenters here, whether Catholic or not, are hostile to Francis. I’m not even Christian, but it seems to me that a pope ought first of all to be Catholic, and the current papacy makes me question ursine excretory habits.
Never apologize to the offended. It sets up a system that rewards taking offense, and the offended ought to know better.
Being offended gives a feeling of being one-up. It ought to be shamed instead.
I don’t remember, when I was a kid, anybody being offended. It just wasn’t a thing. I think it came in with wokeness and then was adopted by the right as well. It comes from not being able to justify what sociologists used to be able to justify easily.
Interesting upbringing. Exactly how old are you…. anything under…say…..20 might be an excuse.
I remember people getting offended when I was growing up. The remedy at the time was punching the offender in the mouth, rather than lecturing people in the Comments section.
Hotspur has entered the chat.
I remember politicians respecting the people they represented. Now they mock them.
Seen on Instapundit .. Why is Cruella Deville as played by Caitlyn Jenner feeding a Dorito to Dylan Mulvaney?
The video didn’t offend me. Then again, it’s hard to offend me when it comes to anything unless you put ketchup on your hot dog. I’m used to people mocking Catholics.
Well it offends me! She is the governor of Michigan, not a 10 year olds. Sorry no pass here. We are in serious times when peoples lives are at stake and she is doing this stuff. So unprofessional, she represents the Democrat party, insensitive narcissistic twits. After what they did to people over covid, I seriously think these people are evil.
I am a proud Protestant and smear ketchup all over my hot dog!!! So, there!!!
The wicked witch of Michigan knows it is easy to mock christianity because no one is likely to show up and cut your head off.
I’m counted among the godless heathens, but I am deeply angered by this. Moreso, I think, than I was over the “Last Supper” mockery at the Olympics.
I have several close friends who came to a deeper relationship with Christianity later in live. All of them would be saddened by Retch’s antics, but not at all angry. I’ve not got the same kind of beliefs, and would love to see public and political blowback on these horrid women. To cheaply denigrate, just for some giggles, a ritual that is very important to people I love, and has vastly improved their lives, shows a moral bankruptcy I hope kills them.
She knew what she was doing, she just doesn’t care like all progressives. The hell with the prolls, I’m in charge and will do what I want to you
I have been subjected to the mandatory DEI indoctrination at work. Their rules are that it does not matter what the intention was, if anyone is offended, the offender is automatically guilty, and must be shamed and punished, and forced to grovel. These are the rules that they have imposed. They must be made to follow their own rules too. “I’m sorry that you feel offended” is not an apology. A real apology requires contrition, and a sincere commitment to do better.
Latina Catholic here, and I don’t believe a syllable or letter of Whitchmer’s fauxpology. She’s as sincere as the proverbial scorpion on the frog’s back crossing the river. In other words, a stereotypical AWFL.
Evil, demonic commies
All of them
if you watch the girls reaction on the receiving end she gives it a sexual reaction
Really, Michigan? Are you going to keep putting botards like Whitmer in public office?
There is no way even a non Catholic didn’t know what this looked like. The submission BDSM vibe was also front and center. All Cruella was missing was a leather suit and that chick, a leather mask.
