Academia in this country, at all levels, is an enemy enclave whose purpose is the destruction of this country and its Constitution. That is a problem that will have to be dealt with eventually. Until the election either takes place or is rendered moot, nothing will be done. A key problem is that the societal divorce between actions and consequences for the actors is stronger in Academia than elsewhere in our society. Until that connection is re-established as a norm, nothing will improve.
